Abstract

The aim of this research was to study the effect of cow manure bokashi fertilizer on the growth and yield of local Muna peanuts on marginal land. The research was conducted in the Experimental Garden Field II, Faculty of Agriculture, Halu Oleo University, Kendari, from April to June 2021. The study used a randomized block design (RBD) consisting of controls without applying bokashi fertilizer, 5 t ha-1 bokashi fertilizer, 10 t ha-1 bokashi fertilizer, bokashi fertilizer 15 t ha-1, bokashi fertilizer 20 t ha-1. Each treatment was repeated 3 times so that there were 15 experimental units. The variables observed were plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, leaf area, number of pods, pod weight, seed weight, number of nodules and production. The results showed that the application of cow dung bokashi fertilizer doses on the growth and yield of muna local peanut plants on marginal land had a significant effect on the growth and yield variables of peanut plants. The best treatment was obtained at a dose of 20 t ha-1 bokashi fertilizer compared to other treatments and controls.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of this type of essential oil as an attractant for fruit flies (Bactrocera sp.) on tomato plants. The research was carried out on farmer's land in Benteng Alla Utara Village, Baroko District, Enrekang Regency. The implementation of this research starts from April 2021 until it is finished. This experiment used a randomized block design (RBD) consisting of five treatments with four replications. The treatments included citronella essential oil, clove essential oil, basil essential oil, tomato extract and also control. In testing the effectiveness of several essential oils obtained by steam distillation distillation technique. Each trap dripped with 3 ml of essential oil. Observation of trapped fruit fly populations was carried out on plants 49 days, 56 days, 63 days, 70 days, 77 days, and 84 days after planting. The results showed that the essential oil of basil was the most effective as an attractant for fruit flies on tomato plants with an average population of 55.17%.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the effectiveness of various biological agents in increasing the growth of tomato plants. The study used a randomized block design, consisting of 10 treatments, namely without the use of biological agents, Pseudomonas sp. SWRIIA02, Bacillus sp. CKD061, Pseudomonas sp. Ab06, Pseudomonas sp. Bb05, SWRIIA02 + CKD061, Ab06 + CKD061, Bb05 + CKD061, SWRIIA02 + CKD061 and SWRII02 + CKD061 + Bb05 and each treatment was repeated 3 times. The results showed that the treatment of biological agents had a very significant effect on plant height 14 DAP, number of leaves 12 DAP, plant dry weight and significantly affected plant height 28 DAP, 42 DAP, stem diameter 42 DAP, root fresh weight, root dry weight and length root. The biological agent Pseudomonas sp. SWRIIA02, Bb05+CKD061, Bacillus sp. CKD061, SWRIIA02+CKD061+Bb05 were better at increasing the growth of local tomato plants compared to those without biological agents, with the percentage increase in plant dry weight in each of these treatments reaching 62.30%, 58.78%, 55.91% and 51.76% which was not significantly different from other treatments but significantly different from the treatment without biological agents.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of Inceptisol soil on the coast of Napabalano Subdistrict and the application of cow dung compost as a planting medium on the growth of Pulut maize (Zea mays var. ceratina) and determine the best dose of cow dung compost on the utilization of Inceptisol soil on the coast of Napabalano District against maize growth. This research took place in October-January 2022. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with five treatments, namely without cow dung compost (P0); cow dung compost 100 g polybag-1 (P1); cow dung compost 200 g polybag-1 (P2); cow dung compost 300 g polybag-1 (P3); cow dung compost 400 g polybag-1 (P4), repeated four times to produce 20 experimental units. The variables observed were nutrient levels of N, P, and K in Inceptisol soil on Napabalano District's coast and plant growth, including plant height and number of plant leaves. The results showed that cow dung compost increased the N-total nutrient content from 0,072% to 0,11%, P-total from 20,34 mg 100g-1 to 29.29 mg 100g-1, and K-total 21,24 mg100g-1 to 30,60 mg100g-1. Giving cow dung compost, 400 g polybag-1 significantly increased plant height and the number of plant leaves compared to other treatments.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the changes in some chemical properties of coastal soil and the growth of pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) given chicken manure and to obtain a treatment that changed the chemical properties of coastal soil and the growth of pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) was more good. This study used a randomized block design (RBD) consisting of 4 treatments, namely A0 (without chicken manure), A1 (100 g chicken manure polybag-1), A2 (200 g chicken manure polybag-1), and A3 (300 g chicken manure polybag-1). Soil analysis was carried out at the Nanotechnology Laboratory, Halu Oleo University. This study showed that chicken manure increased the nutrient content of total N-, P-available, C-organic, and pH in coastal soil, with a dose of organic fertilizer that gave the best effect, namely 100 g polybag-1.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the main types of pests and the intensity of their damage to chili plants with different cultivation systems. This research was conducted in Konda Satu Village, Konda District, South Konawe Regency. This study consisted of 3 treatments with 6 replications, so there were 18 experimental units. Observational data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and if the results showed significant differences then it was continued with the Least Significant Difference Test (LSD) at the 95% confidence level to find out the best treatment by testing the differences between all treatments. Then test further LSD0.05. This study used three cultivation systems as treatments, namely the Conventional Cultivation System (Without Application of Biofresh Fertilizer + 100% Inorganic recommended dose + Use of Plastic Mulch), Semi-Organic Cultivation System (Application of Biofresh Fertilizer 50% recommended dose + 50% Inorganic of recommended dose + Application Phymar C Botanical Pesticides + Use of Plastic Mulch), and Organic Cultivation Systems (100% recommended dosage of Biofresh Fertilizer Application + Phymar C Botanical Pesticide Application + Organic Mulch). The results showed that the main pests that attack chili plants are armyworm pests (Spodoptera litura), fruit fly pests (Bactrocera sp.) and Aphids pests (Aphididae). The lowest damage intensity of armyworm pests was in the organic cultivation system of 18.08%, the lowest intensity of fruit fly pest attacks was in the semi-organic cultivation system of 31.81%, the lowest intensity of attack by aphids was in the semi-organic cultivation system of 12.59%.
