Abstract

The paper presents the effectiveness of voltage stability indices for dynamic power system modelling study in providing information about the proximity of voltage collapse in power system. Four simple stability indices as Voltage Instability Predictor (VIP), Impedance Stability Index (ISI), Line Index (L index) and Voltage Collapse Prediction Index (VCPI) are compared using WSCC 9 bus test system. The comparison show the ISI and VCPI are much more reliable indicator, give the fast indication and fast time computation than L index for voltage collapse in dynamics voltage collapse prediction.

Abstract

This paper describes a study that compared performance and emission from a 97 cc small single cylinder gasoline engine using five differences carburetor jet configuration. The study is based on the engine test bed results. The test results have shown that the bigger main jet produce slightly higher torque and power than the smaller one, but the fuel consumption also higher. The emission test results have shown a higher hydrocarbon (HC) and carbon monoxide (CO) for bigger main jet configuration. However Oxide of Nitrogen (NOx) emission from bigger main jet configuration was generally lower. The smallest jet configuration produced to lean fuel air mixture and caused engine over heat. The data obtained in this study indicate that the best configuration for the engine tested is 72/38 jet configuration.

Abstract

Paper ini mempresentasikan sebuah jaringan neural tiruan (ANN) pendekatan yang didasarkan untuk definisi dari strategi kendali pencegahan dari sistem kuasa otonomi dengan penetrasi kuasa dapat diperbaharui besar. Karena titik operasi ditentukan, suatu evaluasi keamanan yang dinamis cepat untuk suatu gangguan angin ditetapkan dilakukan dengan menggunakan suatu ANN. Jika ketidakkokohan dideteksi, alternatif baru titik operasi stabil diusulkan, menggunakan suatu bastar ANN-OPTIMISASI mendekati cek itu beberapa berbagai kemungkinan, sebagai hasil perubahan berkuasa yang diproduksi oleh diesel dan generator angin, dan kombinasi unit diesel yang lain sedang bekerja. Hasil memperoleh dari simulasi computer menyangkut sistem kuasa yang riil Lemnos (Yunani) mendukung kebenaran dari  pendekatan dikembangkan.

Abstract

This paper describes a study an influence of ethanol concentration in premium-ethanol fuel blends on vehicle performance and exhaust gas emissions. The study is based on the vehicle test on chassis dynamometer. Exhaust gas emission was measured on idle condition and using ECE standard regulation No. 83-04. Three compositions were performed on the first step, which are 3%, 10% and 20% of volume. Performance and emission results were compared to the test results on the same vehicle fuelled with 100% premium and pertamax. The test results have shown that increasing concentration of ethanol will increase torque and power, reduce CO and HC emission, except on idle condition. 10% ethanol concentration have identical performance characteristic with the same vehicle fuelled with pertamax, with 60% less CO emission on idle condition and 30% less when using ECE 83-04 standard.

Abstract

This Research is conducted in Pontianak state Polytechnic using test-drive method based on literature. The step are scheme/ turbine design, making and repairing in order to get a better pelton turbine. The main objective of this research is to provide facility for energy conversion and fluid mechanism practice which is limited in Mechanical Engineering Department so that it is hoped that it will contribute positive effects on students ability in that field. The construction and specification of pelton turbine model resulted of this research as follows; ( 1) Type Pump: Jet propulsion Pump, with the energy input 500 Watt, head pump 55 m, and debit 30 L / minute. ( 2) Generator energy 500 VA and Rpm 1500 rpm, 50 Hz. ( 3) Runner specification: The sum of buckets / sudu is 8 ( single and double), runner diameter 17 cm, out side diameter 44 cm, the width of bucket 6 cm, the length is 14 cm, and pitch pelton wheel diameter is 30 cm. ( 4) Nozzle diameter is 20 mm. The result of research on this pelton turbine model shows of water kinetic energy into electrical energy resulted by pelton turbine, and the bucket type design as well as the sum influence the rpm and voltage gained.

Abstract

Untuk merencanakan besarnya debit kebutuhan air yang diperlukan pada areal persawahan secara keseluruhan, maka perlu dilakukan suatu analisa kebutuhan air. mulai. Tujuan dari penelitian ini pada adalah melakukan analisa hitungan untuk mendapatkan besarnya debit kebutuhan air irigasi maksimal pada daerah irigasi Bendung. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara mengambil data sekunder. Data tersebut dikompilasikan dengan metode Penman yang dimodifikasi untuk menentukan evapotranspirasi acuan (Eto), kemudian dikalikan dengan koefisien tanaman akan didapatkan nilai penggunaan konsumtif (consumtive use). Dengan faktor-faktor lainnya yang menunjang hitungan kebutuhan air seperti curah hujan efektif yang disesuaikan dengan jenis tanaman (padi/palawija), perkolasi besarnya diasumsikan dan kemudian menentukan pola tanamnya. Setelah itu dengan menggunakan rumus efisiensi tiap-tiap saluran maka kebutuhan air dapat ditentukan.Dari hasil analisis dengan menggunakan metode Penman dengan menggunakan sistem pola tanam Padi-Padi-Palawija dan menggunakan kebutuhan pengambilan 3 golongan dalam jangka waktu penyiapan lahan satu bulan, maka didapatkan besarnya nilai debit kebutuhan air irigasi maksimal masing-masing pada alternatif I yaitu 0,271 m3/dtk, alternatif II yaitu 0,254 m3/dtk dan alternatif III yaitu 0,261 m3/dtk. Didapatkan nilai debit kebutuhan air irigasi maksimal yang terkecil yaitu 0,254 m3/dtk

Abstract

In making of design VLSI ( Very Large Scale Integrated Scale Integration ) is needed planning of Logic Design and Layout. The function of making of Logic Design is to translate existing case study into truth tables and then it is described into logical gates. In order to make Logic Design easier, it is required a software, the name is DSCH2. It can simulate result of truth tables, beside that it has ability to make verilog file ( one of  high language program HDL ).Layout represents form of pattern to be used in making IC ( Integrated Circuit ), where form of pattern to be made have to proper by Logic Design which have been made. In making of layout used a software, the name is MICROWIND2. This software is able to read verilog file that produced by DSCH2. In this research, we build logic design and layout for basic logical gates, such as NOT, AND and SOP ( Sum of Product ). They were made from MOS and CMOS materials.

Abstract

A comprehensive seismic survey encompassing the seismic refraction and the downhole method have been carried out in order to characterize a site of granitic residual soil.  The seismic refraction was found to be useful in the initial modeling of the subsurface and has managed to identify the water table, a bolder and the bedrock level satisfactorily.  From the downhole seismic, P-wave velocity was found to be responsived to lithology and the water table, while the S-wave velocity was found to be able to characterise the residual soil in terms of their weathering grades.  Correlations between the S-wave velocity (Vs) and dynamic shear modulus (Gseis)  were established with the SPT (N) and the static unload reload shear modulus (Gur)of the pressuremeter tests. The relationship of Vs = 2.89N + 167.84 and Gseis (MPa) = 2.39Gur + 36.03 were obtained in this study.
