Abstract

This research isaimingto know the distribution of stress, strain, displacementas well as safety factor on gmokart frame. The frame was designed in Autodesk inventor software and simulated using AnsysFluent. Carbon steel with maximum loadof 95 Kg was used as material for the frame. The results of this research indicate that maximum stress at the main frame can reach around 34,731 N/m2 in simulation and 34,772 N/m2 by manual calculation. On the other hand, the maximum stresscan reach 1,95 ×  cm in  simulation and 1,73×  from manual calculation. The maximum displacementhappened on the frame is around 0,175 cm in simulation while in calculation it can reach around 0,278 cm. Material used for the frame has the safety factor of 10,045.Keyword: Design, simulation, frame, gokart, and savety factor.

Abstract

Noise pollution from noise is a kind of unwanted pollution.This noise can be reduced by using an acoustic damper. This study aims to find out the technique of making polyester resin material mixed with waste paperand rice husk ash as an acoustic damper. The composite made then tested the value of sound absorption coefficient (????), composite damping test is done on kundst tube impedance tool equipped with spekerr device, amplifer, power supllay, lettop, smartphone, oscilloscope, sound lever meter with input frequency 400,600,800 Hz. The composite making method used by determining the volume fraction in composite damping test of Noise Absorption Coefficient (NAC) properties comprising Resin polyster : 50% paper waste : 20% and rice husk ash: 30%, Resin polyster 50% paper waste: 30% and rice husk ash: 20%, Resin polyster : 50% paper waste: 40% and rice husk ash : 10%. The result of all polyester resin composite test specimens in paper waste and rice husk ash reinfercement have the highest absorption coefficient 0,47857????????) at fractoin of 50%:30%:20% volume with frequency of 800 Hz. While for the lowest sound absorption result 0,475819 (????) with volume fraction of 50%:30%:20% with frequency 400 Hz. The overall specimencan be made as a damper because it has a sound absorption coefficient value >0.3.Keyword: Composite, paper waste, rice husk ash and NAC

Abstract

Sound pollution from noise is a classic problem in Indonesia. This noise can be reduced by using an acoustic damper. The composite material made from coconut fiber and matrix is an alternative to environmentallyfriendly acoustic damper material because it utilizes agricultural waste material. this research has been made of fiberr matrix composite, gypsum powder with polyester resin. To increase the strength of coconutfiber first soaked in 2% NaOH solution for 1 hour. The composites are then tested for the value of the sound absorption coefficient (????), the composite damping test is performed on the kundts tube impedance tool in the speaker, amplifier, power supplay, laptop/smartphone, oscilloscope, sound lever meter with input frequency 600,800,1000 Hz. The test result of the value of Noice Absorption Coefficient (NAC) of all specimens of polyester resin composite test in fiber reinforcement fiber and gypsum powder has the highest absorption coefficient (????)=0.358316 at 30: 20: 50% fiber fraction with 1000 Hz frequency. As for the lowest sound absorption results (????)=0.351631 with fiber volume fraction 20: 30: 50% with a frequency of 600 Hz. In the general whole specimens can be made as a damper because it has a value of sound absorption coefficient >0,3.Keywords: composite, gypsum, fibers, polyester and NAC.
