Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the energy losses in the piping installation with the exhaust manifolds installation model in the clean water system. There is a research objective of this piping system to determine the effect of water discharge (Q) on head losses (Re) and the Reynolds number (Re) variation on loss coefficient (K), and know how much the value of water discharge (Q), head losses (h) and coefficient of loss (K), and the flow characteristics of the exhaust manifold system. In this study, the test material used is PVC pipe size 0.0127 m .and variations of testing of exhaust manifolds installation 35 cm-55 cm, each branch to determine the pressure on the measuring instrument manometer. Keywords: Energy, losses, pipe, water

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the heat that builds up and the rate of abrasion due to friction on the brake discs made of fiber composite jute, coconut shell with an epoxy resin adhesive. The tools used in this study are digital thermometer, abrasion, stopwatch, thermometer, digital scales while the materials used are ramie fibers, coconut shell charcoal, and epoxy resin. Comparison of a mixture of ramie fiber, coconut shell powder, and epoxy resin namely for canvas 1 (30:30:40 %), canvas 2 (20:40:40 %), and (40:20:40 %). The lowest abrasion rate value in the 3rd sample with a composition (40 % ramie fiber, coconut shell charcoal powder 20 %, and 40 % epoxy resin) is 0,00071 gr/ s, the thermal conductivity value of the material drops at 30 % ramie content and increases in the 40 % content of ramie. Keywords: brake lining, abrasion rate, thermal conductivity, ramie and epoxy

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding clay-based ceramic material sand to physical strength using bending, density, and porosity testing methods. In this study using clay and sand with a volume fraction of clay: sand ie 90:10 %, 80:20 %, 70:30 %, 60: 40 % and 50:50 % printed using mold rectangular size 50 mm long, 8 mm wide and 7 mm thick, then the compaction process is carried out with a pressure of 175 kgf/cm2 or 2500 psi, then the sintering process is carried out at a temperature of 800 OC for 1 hour. The tests carried out are density, porosity and bending tests. The results showed that the density value of the volume fraction of 80:20 % obtained the highest average density value of 0.513 gr/cm³, and the volume fraction of 50:50 % obtained the lowest average density value of 0.458 gr/cm³. In porosity testing with a volume fraction of 50: 50 %, the highest porosity value was 67.619 %, and the volume fraction of 80:20 % obtained the lowest porosity value of 44.381 %. And for bending testing, the effect of volume fraction on bending strength obtained the highest bending strength value of 0.516 N/mm² for the volume fraction of 80: 20 % and the lowest bending strength value obtained with a value of 0.075 N/mm² for 50: 50 % volume fraction. Keywords: Sintering, density, porosity, bending, ceramic

Abstract

Pyrolysis is a fascination process by increasing temperatures without or less oxygen. This research aims to compare the use of gas pressure and gas-burning temperatures that were hasyfish. In this study, the reabsorption of 500 gr in the druse variable of the interactive waste is the type of PET (Polyethylene) with two types of the pyrolysation of the pyrolysis without being dry and the pyrolysis is with the athletes. Research began in preparation for the preparation of the test, preparation of ryl, precursors and research with gas pyrolysis. Further conducted analysis for each product. The highest gas pressure has a pyrolysation trial with an average of 0,04125 MPa while for the pyrolysis, without either a 0,02375 MPa while the average gas of the highest gas air date on the test pyrolysis without a dry temperature at 971,5 °C whereas the water is called for the water of the process of the 962,75 °C.Keywords: Pyrolysis, plastic garbage, gas, and dry steam

Abstract

This research aims to determine the characteristic briquettes of rice husk and sawdust. The treatment of this research includes non-carbonization processes, composition variation 30 % rice husk, 70 % sawdust powder, 50 % rice husk, 50 % sawdust powder, and 70 % paddy Husk, 30 % sawn wood powder (adhesive material considered homogeneous) as well as pressure variations (50 kgf/cm2, 100 kgf/cm2 and 150 kgf/cm2). The results of these things show that the higher the percentage of rice husk then the combustion time will be relatively longer, composition 50% rice husk and 50 % sawdust powder produces a higher maximum temperature than other composition, the higher the pressure given then the briquette density level will be greater and the resistance level the briquette will be higher and the Resistance index briquette is strongly influenced by the pressure and material composition briquette. Keywords: Briquet, rice husk, sawdust, non-carbonization
