Abstract

Research on the distribution and diversity of herpetofauna in  Semarang State University needs to be done. This relates to developed of biodiversity conservation program in Semarang State University. The objective of the research was to analyze the distribution and diversity of herpetofauna in Semarang State University. The study was conducted in June to October 2010. The data of herpetofauna were collected by Visual Encounter Survey (VES). Time of observation made in the morning (8:00 to 11:00 am) and nigh time (19:00 to 23:00 pm). Data were analyzed using margaleft index for the Species Richness Index, Shannon Diversity Index (H ) for species diversity and Index of Equitability or Evenness Simpsons to determine the proportion of the abundance species. The results showed that 20 species of herpetofauna(9 familiesand 3 order) were found in Semarang State University. The Species richness Index (DMg) was 3.98, Diversity Index was 3,84, and Eveness Index was 1,28. The most of species that we found are the member of Family Ranidae, Bufonidae, and Gekkonidae.Penelitian tentang distribusi dan keanekaragaman  herpetofauna di Universitas Negeri Semarang perlu dilakukan. Hal ini berkaitan dengan pengembangan program konservasi keanekaragaman hayati di Universitas Negeri Semarang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis distribusi dan keanekaragaman herpetofauna di Universitas Negeri Semarang. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Juni hinggaOktober 2010. Data herpetofauna dikumpulkan oleh Visual Encounter Survey (VES). Waktu pengamatan dilakukan pada pagi hari (8.00 sampai 11.00 pagi) dan dekat waktu (pukul 19.00 sampai 23.00 malam). Data dianalisis menggunakan indeks Margaleft untuk Indeks Kekayaan Spesies, Shannon Indeks Keanekaragaman (H) untuk keanekaragaman spesies dan Indeks Pemerataan atau Kemerataan Simpsons untukmenentukan proporsi dari spesies yang kelimpahan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 20 spesies herpetofauna(9 famili dan 3 ordo) ditemukan di Universitas Negeri Semarang. Indeks Kekayaan Spesies (DMG) adalah 3,98, Indeks keanekaragaman 3,84, dan Indeks Eveness adalah 1,28. Spesies yang paling banyak ditemukan adalah anggota famili Ranidae, Bufonidae, dan Gekkonidae.

Abstract

The research aims to obtain information about the various of medicinal plantsspecies. from 17 species of wild plants were found, approximately 76.5% (13)has been known to have the potential to be used as a medicine, namely jambumete, kecapi, gondang putih, laban, petai cina, jati, gerok ayam, lampeni, jemang,mangga, beruas, karet manis, and kopi anjing.Keywords: medicinal plant, lowland rain forest, Karimunjawa

Abstract

One of central goal in ecology is to understand how plants respond to environment and what kind of attributes that can be obtained with an easy way to interpret the complexity of nature, especially on vegetation response. Ecologists use functional traits to understand how plants respond to environmental changes. Plant species may have experienced different environmental conditions during their ontogeny. Thus, they may show different patterns of ontogenetic trait variation (OTV) as their response to different environmental condition. In this study, the relationship between trait variation on different habitat and across ontogenetic stages both on community and population levels were investigated. Five selected leaves traits (leaf area, specific leaf area, leaf thickness, leaf dry matter content, and leaf succulence) were examined to look at plant response along soil water content and light gap interception gradient in Kenting forest dynamics plot (KFDP), Southern Taiwan. Leaf area was the most varied trait across habitat and ontogeny. Leaf thickness reveals an opposite pattern compare to leaf area. Leaf dry matter content (LDMC) showed less variation either between or within species and across ontogeny. Shift of community responses on environmental gradient by trait through ontogeny showed that intraspecific variation is important to be considered in ecological study. The other important finding in this study was by only using mean species we can misleading in understanding of plant responses to the environmental gradient in order to their adaptation both across different habitat and ontogenetic stages.

Abstract

Research on the vegetation diversity and bord habitat profi le has been carried outin the Mangrove Forest of Pulau Nyamuk in Karimunjawa National Park to examinethe relationship between vegetation types and mangrove habitat profi le and the spatialusage by birds. A transect method has been employed to survey the vegetation and thepoint count method was used to survey the birds. There were 14 vegetation types and 19species of birds from 14 families at two observational sites in mangrove forest in PulauNyamuk. Exchoecaria agallocha dominated the eastern part of Pulau Nyamuk, whereasLumnitzera racemosa dominated the northern part of the island. The vegetational spaceutilization by birds can be grouped based on the vertical vegetation stratifi cation, i.e. theland, the understorey, the subcanopy and the canopy.Keywords: mangrove vegetation, bird habitat, Pulau Nyamuk, Karimunjawa

Abstract

AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui keanekaragaman fauna khususnya kupu-kupu kekayaan jenis, kelimpahan, indeks keanekaragaman serta indeks kemerataan jenis. Metode yang digunakan adalah point count, line transect dan flight trap. Radius pengamatan pada setiap titik ditentukan berdasarkan tipe vegetasi dan kemampuan pengamat, sementara lamanya waktu pengamatan pada setiap titik hitung adalah 10 menit. Analisis data mengunakan indeks kekayaan jenis Margalefs (DMg), Indeks keanekaragaman jenis Shannon-Wiener, dan indeks kemerataan jenis Simpson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 55 jenis kupu-kupu ditemukan di kawasan Taman Kehati Universitas Negeri Semarang. Jenis yang ditemukan tergolong dalam 5 (lima) famili yaitu famili Papilionidae, Pieridae, Lycaenidae , Nymphalidae, dan Hesperidae (Tabel 1). Hasil penelitian juga menemukan satu jenis termasuk jenis yang dilindungi UU No 5 Tahun 1990, PP No 7 Tahun 1999 dan masuk dalam kategori CITES apendik II, yaitu jenis Troides helena.AbstractThe research tried to examine the diversity of butterflies in terms of species richness, abundance, diversity index, and evenness. The methods employed were point count, line transect and flight trap. The observation radius in each point was determined based on the vegetation type and the observers capability, and the interval time for observation in each point was 10 minutes. Data was analyzed using Margalefs species richness index (DMg), Shannon-Wieners species diversity index, and Simpsons species evenness index. There were 55 butterfly species in the area of Taman Kehati Semarang State University. The butterflies were from five (5) families, i.e. Papilionidae, Pieridae, Lycaenidae, Nymphalidae, and Hesperidae (Table 1). Observation has found one species that is categorized as protected based on Law No. 5 Year 1990, Governmental Regulation No. 7 Year 1999, listed in CITES Appendix II; the species was Troides helena.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the variety of fern species in Curug Lawe area of Techno-forestry Park, Petungkriyono; then develop the catalog, investigate the validity and analyze the effectiveness of the catalog as Biology learning source for senior high school students. The study was done in Curug Lawe Petungkriyono as exploration place and SMA N 1 Petungkriyono for validity test. The design of catalog used Sugiyono (2012) and research method for effectiveness test is One-Shoot Study Case. The object of study is all fern plants found through the way to Curug Lawe. The research result shows that percentage of catalog validity by expert and biology teacher is 94.5%. The percentage of students’ classical completeness of students’ learning results is 78%, while percentage of incomplete students is 22%. The mean of students’’ response questionnaire after the learning is 83% with very good criteria. Generally, teacher and students give positive and very good response toward the applied learning. The conclusion of this research is Pteridophyte Catalog is proper and effective to be used as Biology learning source for senior high school students.

Abstract

SMA Negeri 1 Cawas does not have a digital inventory of plants. Digital inventory can be stored for  long time and updated. The study aims to develop an encyclopedia of-based plants database in adiwiyata schools. Research design with Research and Development (RnD). The steps include analysis of potential and problems; data collection; product design; design validation by media experts (lecturers and media experts BPMPK) and material experts (expert classification lecturers); revision 1; small-scale trials (for biology teachers, Wakakur and responses by class XI MIA students 2); revision 2; large-scale trials (all students of class XI MIA); revision 3; and the final product. Based on the results of the study there were 46 plant species. Encyclopedia design (Ensiya) includes templates, systems coding, and finalization program. Ensiya is used to facilitate the management of plant inventories. Revision 1, carried out on the program name, label, motivation, and location of the outbox. Revision 2 of the program name; label box size; motivation box and outbox. The results of a large-scale trial, Ensiya obtained a very feasible assessment by students and received positive responses. Revision 3, program name font; picture box; motivation, and the location of the outbox. Conclusion of this study, that  the plant encyclopedia (Ensiya) in the database-based adiwiyata school was successfully developed using Microsoft Visual Basic Express. Ensiya digital documents, 165 MB file size, accessed offline, transferred between computers with data transfer, and can be changed by studying Microsoft Visual Basic Express programming, is very valid and very feasible.

Abstract

“Fungsi Wirid dan Hizib dalam Sastra Lisan Pesantren” menguraikan berbagai manfaat wirid dan hizib bagi orang yang membacakannya. Wirid dan hizib yang diuraikan di sini termasuk kategori sastra lisan atau lebih spesifik termasuk jenis sastra lisan pesantren. Fungsi wirid dan hizib yang ditampilkan di sini difokuskan pada studi kasus Wirid Asma’ul Husna dan Hizib Lathif  yang terdapat di wilayah Brangsong Kendal. Di samping fungsi, makalah ini juga menampilkan deskripsi serta pemahaman Wirid Asma’ul Husna dan Hizib Lathif untuk menambah wawasan pembaca.

Abstract

The article uses manuscripts of Erang-erang Sekar Panjang as the object of research from two sources: one which is kept at the National Library and the other is of personal collection in Kaliwungu and Pekalongan. Those manuscripts were chosen for they contain Islamic poetry familiar to most Javanese Moslems and expressions of esoteric Sufism and Islamic moral teachings. The method used here is philological and thematic. The philological method has an aim to get text that is far from error. The thematic method, on the other hand, aims to study the main topic of the text. It is then analyzed how the Islamic poetry and hizb and wirid approach Allah through the use of basmallah, subhanallah, la ilaha illallah, hasbunallah and so on and how the Koran teaches Moslems to reflect the traits of Allah through tanzih  or tasybih. By comparing the manuscripts I conclude that the first manuscript is older, and more complete. The content of  doctrine escathology and theology is about the doctrine of Islamic ‘Aqidah, such as (1) the traits of Allah, (2) Quran as a qadim or jaded, (3) the human being action, (4) qada’  and qadar, (5) punishment problems,  (6) heaven and hell, and so on. Abstract

Land shortage becomes the main environmental problem for many schools in urban areas. Hygienic and eco-friendly behavior, along with waste management are not optimally conducted in the schools. This problem is also encountered in SD Pleburan 03 and SD Pleburan 04, Semarang, Indonesia. This program aims to raise environmental awareness of people in the school to take part in embodying the green school program. The responsibility also belongs to UNNES as one of the conservation-centered universities. Therefore, UNNES community empowerment team carried out a community empowerment program to actualize the environmentally-centered green school idea in SD Pleburan 03-04. Methods applied were arranged in various stages of activities, which are socialization, integration, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Results show that the principal and the teachers of the school are able to develop environmentally based learning infrastructures. Teachers are also able to practice environmentally based learning process. Students are capable to practice hydroponic techniques. Moreover, the school now also possesses an eco –friendly supporting system. In conclusion, this program encourages people of SD Pleburan 03-04 to move forward as an environmentally based green school.
