Abstract

This study aims to explore an outlook of future quality basic education by deploying reference analysis varied sorts of resources. The analysis was conducted by analyzing current condition of improvement and enhancement of the learning access and opportunities of all primary school-aged children who reach Minimum Participation Rate (MPR) of 100% by 2015. This involved less economically developed, people living in remote, border and isolated areas and districts. Current and future analysis suggests the quality education lies not merely on achieving the MPR indicators of 100% along with the reduction of the percentage of students’ learning period and the number of dropouts and retakes, but also on analyzing the periodical competence benchmark on the literacy achievement of Indonesian children. The achievement is greatly influenced by economic growth illustrated in Gross National Income (GNI) and Gross Domestic Product (GDP). This study found that future basic education quality significantly affect the economic growth of Indonesia. Keywords: outlook of basic education, periodical competence benchmark, literacy achievement, GNI/GDP.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the construct validity of teacher professional ethics measures modified from the Yael Fisher scale (Yael Fisher, 2013) and adapted to the culture in Indonesia, the Indonesian version made by researchers. Teacher professional ethics consists of three dimensions namely, personal value, social value and universal value. In this article, the discussion is only in the dimension of personal value. Researchers used data from 178 state elementary school teachers in the Jakarta area. The analytical method used in this study is first order Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) with the help of M-Plus. The results of the analysis in this study indicate that in general the items in the Professional Ethics of the Teacher's personal value dimension have measured unidimensional constructs. The factor load coefficient for the item measurement of personal value is at the value t> 1.96, meaning that the item is significant. The results also show the factor model that is fit with Chi-square = 264.161 *, df = 157, P-value = 0.0010, RMSEA = 0.062, CFI = 0.977 and using the MLR estimator the H0 scaling correction factor is 1.0259 (close to 1 ) states that this model is fit with the data. Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of the Technical Functional Teacher Training Program Madrasah held by the Technical Center of Ministry of Religious Affairs. This study used modified Kirkpatrick level Result model and case study method. The study was conducted in 58 Madrasahs with 518 respondents consisting of alumni of trainees, colleagues, and head of Madrasah. Technique of collecting data by way of questionnaire, observation and interview. Data processing is done by quantitative and qualitative descriptive technique. The results of this study show that the training alumni are able to arrange the tools and carry out the process and assessment of learning, ensuring the quality of planning, completing routine work, solving problems, improving working relationships and cooperation, implementing the results of the training, receiving and advising. But alumnus do not use ICT in learning, do not do reflective action, do not implement knowledge and skill in work. This capability is not entirely the result of the role of Technical Training Center of the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Abstract

Introduction: Preceptorship is clinical education for nursing students by conducting constructive partnerships between nurse educators and practitioners. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to find out the effectiveness of the preceptorship programme using the Stake Model Evaluation Programme in terms of aspects antecedents, transactions, outcomes and behaviours. Methods: This study uses descriptive design with quantitative and qualitative approaches. The sample consists of 131 students, 22 clinical preceptors and 22 academic preceptors. The quantitative data were collected using questionnaires, observation and document studies. Qualitative study was conducted using an interview. Descriptive analysis uses mean, standard deviation, percentage, frequency distribution and qualitative analysis using a content analysis. Results: The study evaluation found that at antecedent stage. About 68.2% to 90.9% clinical preceptors had a good preparation on the student preparation stages as perceived by the academic preceptor and preceptee. While in the stage of transaction, preceptors are able to teach nursing care and students to perform nursing care from simple to complex in accordance with the competencies achieved.  Only less than half (45.5%) of students had good implementation of nursing care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.  However, more than 68% of them showed good professional attitudes and communication. The outcome phase obtained consistency in the result of the practice phase with the national competency test with value from 76.2% to 97.4%.Conclusion: The majority of the antecedent, transaction stage, and outcome showed an average condition which requires an improvement in order to provide a good quality education programme. Future studies may also need to design an alternative approach for students’ supervision in clinic.

Abstract

Progress in the field of technology often facilitates human work. One of them is progress in the development of questionnaire modes. Currently, existing questionnaires have been based on a digital platform, which makes evaluators easy to design, disseminate, and conduct scoring. All are computer-based, making them reachable by the respondents no matter how far the location of the respondent is, as long as they are connected to the internet. However, any progress is accompanied by several obstacles. For example, the respondents experienced an error in responding to having the intent to respond 'Yes' option but pressing the 'No' button instead. It is very different from filling in paper and pencil based questionnaires in which they are sure to put a checkmark using a pencil on the answer choices. This problem is what the researchers found when distributing digital questionnaires to participants of the National Questions Writing Program based on the 'SIAP' (Sistem Inovatif Aplikasi Penilaian) application. On conditional questions (if you choose 'No', please stop), some respondents who have chosen 'No' answers still respond to the next questions. It causes the data obtained are unreliable. After conducting a more in-depth analysis, the researchers found that respondents’ factors as psychological factors are the cause, such as the new experience of accessing applications, understanding of applications, stress, and personal health. Uniquely, the respondents who have problems are those in the context of productive age, i.e 30 to 39 years old, more than five years of teaching experience, postgraduate level, and female.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the anomalous index (indeks anomali or IA) that considers both response time and responses and compares it with response time effort (RTE) or rapid guessing (tebakan cepat or TC) on various thresholds. Response time and responses from 732 examinees are in natural science subjects consist of 40 multiple choice items with four answer choices. Response time and responses are analyzed to obtain descriptive statistics related to them, calculate the TC and IA index using two methods of the threshold, the first method (M1) is a visualization of identification, and the second method (M2) is based on the amount of time spent responding to each item related to the complexity of items, as proposed by Nitko. The performance of the IA and TC scores is compared related to validity and reliability. The coefficient alpha of IAM1 score 0.84, the coefficient alpha of IAM2 0.82. Both values of the alpha coefficient have fulfilled the reliability requirements of the index determination. The IA proposed in this study has a high correlation with ERP, which is commonly used to determine the solution behavior's magnitude and rapid guessing. The correlation value of IAM1 with TCM1 0.86, the correlation value of IAM2 with TCM2 0.89, and this high correlation value shows that there is a strong relationship between IA and TC. Determination of threshold time uses three categories of multiple choices item that reveal IA and TC distributions that are close to normal distribution so that it reflects natural empirical conditions.
