Abstract

Many media has published Tan Tjiang Ay’s works. But not many have examined the style or philosophy of design from the Tan Tjiang Ay deeply. This study became interesting, because Tan Tjiang Ay's design style resembled the style of modern architectural design, even though he never mentioned it by himself. Therefore, the researcher explored the characteristics of the architectural design of the house by Tan Tjiang Ay. This research method is qualitative approach, by conducting literature studies, field studies, and architectural analysis by using several examples of residential designs by Tan Tjiang Ay to get comprehensive conclusion. The results of the study indicate that the architectural characteristics of residential houses by Tan Tjiang Ay in Bandung are Modern Architecture style.

Abstract

This study discusses the architectural work of an office named @Batubata, owned by the architectural firm Studio Air Putih. The object was chosen because it won two prestigious awards in the best office category and a lot of media coverage. It's just that there are no studies that discuss the office academically and in detail. So in this study review looking for the main characteristics of the Studio Air Putih office by dissecting and deciphering the building elements using the Archetype understanding of Thomas Thiis Evansen's thoughts. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach where primary data is obtained through observation and interviews. Literature study was conducted to obtain secondary data.

Abstract

This study discusses about the transformation of functions with a case study of buildings at Ara Center, located in Gading Serpong, Tangerang. Ara Center was originally designed as an apartment complex. However, during the construction process, two of the pleasant buildings that were designed underwent a process of changing into a hotel and university. The purpose of this study is to find out how the transformation that occurs in buildings that have been designed, both in the spatial system and physical and figural systems. This study also has a purpose to find out how the spatial, physical, and figural patterns that are formed to the current activities. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. The results of this study found that the transformation of functions that occur changes the spatial system in buildings in terms of spatial layout. Whereas in physical and figural systems only a few changes occur.

Abstract

This research examines in detail and academically the characteristics of the Paramount Modern Market, then conducts a post-occupational evaluation on the Paramount Modern Market building comprehensively. The object of study was chosen based on its location in the commercial superblock area, market design evolution, and in Gading Serpong commercial area there was an acceleration of economic growth. This study discusses the analysis of the application of the concept of green city in cluster dwellings in Gading Serpong. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method that is carried out with a case study approach, as well as using inductive post-occupational evaluation techniques. The research found are the characteristics of the spatial, technical, and stylistic systems of the Paramount Market building are already efficient, quite in accordance with established rules, and can support trading activities on the market well and efficiently, and then the post-occupatonal evaluation results state that most of the elements in technical, functional and behavioral approaches are efficient and functioning optimally.

Abstract

The houses in Kampung Cilegong, Mekarwangi Village are still far from the standard of Healthy Homes. Although some were built by artisans with the knowledge of "copy-paste" from cluster housing, there were also some that were built by local governments and offices. A healthy home is a well-designed house, especially looking at the local climate context. Natural lighting and air are the main requirements in designing a healthy home. Therefore, the Architecture Study Program at Matana University tries to carry out PKM activities in the form of training, consultation, and mentoring of several houses in Kampung Cilegong. It is hoped that residents of Kampung Cilegong and the people of Mekarwangi Village will be exposed to the knowledge of the Healthy House and obtain design solutions to set an example. This activity involved students of the 2018 class at Matana University and was integrated with the Building Physics course and the Interior Design Studio. The method of implementation is carried out following the design method. The results of the activity showed a positive response and added insight by the community.

Abstract

The formal housing expansion by private property developers in Tangerang District has the potential to generate "urban void" due to the degradation of the quality of local informal settlements into slums. Between the rich and the poor do not have shared space, to meet and to communicate, but instead hindered by the construction of a concrete wall separating the two sides with a lame gap. Mekarwangi Village is one of the villages in Kecamatan Cisauk, Tangerang Regency, which some part of the area will be built formal housing. To overcome the negative impact, it is necessary step in integrating it with formal housing. One of them is to plan a comperhensive settlement design, but also affordable and in accordance with the local character, and promote sustainability. Community service activities are integrated along side with research into the teaching; the course Urban Design Studio. Beside lecturers and students, this activity also involved the local residents and local agencies. The scope of this case study is in one neigborhoods of Mekarwangi Village; Kampung Cilegong. How the settlement planning and design will be suitable for Kampung Cilegong? This research uses qualitative method to get deeper problem. This study aims to find a solution for Mekarwangi Village in the future. This activity is succeeded and satisfied the citizens of Kampung Cilegong, Mekarwangi Village

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini adalah pengenalan gambar yang diperlukan dalam Arsitektur dan pelatihan Aplikasi komputer untuk menggambarnya, yang bernama Sketchup, bagi para siswa SMA/K. Pengenalan dan pelatihan ini sebagai persiapan mereka sebelum memasuki masa perkuliahan di jurusan Arsitektur. Pelatihan dilakanakan pada 25 April – 28 April 2022 dilakukan secara daring selama 4 pertemuan, dengan durasi 3 jam setiap pertemuannya. Materi yang diberikan dimulai dari pemahaman tentang denah, potongan, isometri, persepektif dan lainnya. Kemudian, bagaimana cara menggambarnya termasuk renderingnya. Pengenalan dan pelatihan ini diikuti 27 peserta. Dengan melakukan pre-test dan post-test, didapatkan hasil yang memuaskan. Peserta merasa terbantu banyak, yang belum pernah menggunakan aplikasi tersebut, jadi mulai bisa dan yang sudah bisa menjadi lebih cepat dalam membuat sebuah gambar.

Abstract

Kajian anatomi karya Arsitektur ini berpijak pada pemikiran prof. Salura (2018), yaitu bedah anatomi Arsitektural yang berbasis pada penciptaan ruang yang dikaitkan dengan konteks tempat. Melalui instrumen analisa dari prof. Salura inilah didapatkan anatomi dan sekaligus karakteristik Arsitektural sebuah karya. Dalam kertas kerja ini, karya Arsitektur yang di bedah adalah rumah baja karya Ir. Ahmad Djuhara, IAI. Kehadiran Arsitektur rumah baja ini, sepertinya telah menjadi salah satu Icon Arsitektur modern di Indonesia. Dengan dominasi material besi, tidak hanya digunakan pada struktur utama, tapi juga pelingkup luar utamanya. Tidak hanya itu, nyaris semua material yang ada ditampilkan secara apa adanya dan lugas. Dengan semua elemen yang ada, membuat tampilan rumah ini sangat berbeda dari yang lain. Mungkin karena ini pula, sejauh amatan yang dilakukan, sejak tahun 2002 rumah ini disorot dari beragam media, baik cetak, tv dan daring. Dengan diterimanya penghargaan dari Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia (IAI Award 2002), jadi penegasan pada eksistensi rancangan rumah baja ini. Pendekatan kualitatif – deskriptif   digunakan pada analisis ini. Data primer dikumpulkan melalui visitasi ke lokasi dan wawancara langsung pada penghuni.

Abstract

The housing complex, which was built in 1976 for Timah District Court employees, is located in the Depok city area, named Komplek Timah, which is the earliest housing in the Depok city area. The housing complex is divided into two, namely the West Tin Complex and the East Tin Complex. In PKM activities by designing a children's garden and reading room located in the East Timah Complex. The age of the housing which is more than 45 years old has resulted in the neglect of several existing social and public facilities, such as the East Tin Complex in Block EE which is the location of PKM this semester. The purpose of this PKM is to redesign the function of the social and public facilities in the East Timah complex area, which is currently not being used for anything and is left neglected. The design method used is to go directly to the field and ask local administrators so that factual data can be obtained in the field, then students and lecturers begin to define functions and design the social and public facilities. The Matana Architecture Study Program is trying to carry out PKM activities in the form of consulting and designing one of the social and public facilities in this housing area which is often used by the local community every day. This activity involves students of classes 2019 at Matana University as well as a place for them to apply the knowledge they have gained from the Site Design Studio course.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Steel house by Ir. This Ahmad Djuhara I.A.I, comes with a prominent metal material dominance. In addition to being used in the main structure and the main outer enclosure, all these materials are displayed in a straightforward and naked manner. Making the expression of this building really unusual. Perhaps because of this, as far as is known, since 2002 it has received the most and widest coverage from the media (print, television and online) than any other architect's works. This steel house received an award from the Indonesian Architects Association (IAI Award), such as confirming the existence and presence of this unique steel house. This study aims to examine how the relationship aspects of Form, Function & Material. The method used is qualitative - descriptive. Through the study of the anatomy of the building, then data collection by means of field observations, direct interviews with users. Then, to fulfill its objectivity, interviews were also conducted on 15 residents (chosen randomly) who live around the location (radius not more than 600 m). The results of the study show that the relationship from triangulation aspects of Form, Function and Material does not work as expected, especially regarding materials. This research is expected to be useful for architectural science, practitioners and students. So that in its design, it is necessary to be more careful in determining the dominance of the material.
