Abstract

Abstract: This paper briefly shares some insights in the matters of resistance toward patriarchic hegemony in three Indonesian folktales; Roro Jonggrang, Roro Mendut, and Sangkuriang. Spivak?s subalternity is used to carve out the critical reading on the three stories. The three stories tell women?s resistances toward men?s hegemonic dominions in patriarchic societies. The findings of the discussion show that woman characters in the three stories come from certain social stratum in their own societies who have their own subjectification and identification. ?Sayembara? which was tactically created by those women characters is a means of their alternative weapon to resist men?s dominion and power. The catharsis of the three folktales shows that the three woman characters find their dead or evanescent as the consequences of their being rebel. The images of women in the three stories based on various versions of the folktales are rebellion and subversive. Key Words: resistance, hegemony, patriarchy, dominion

Abstract

The process writing approach treats writing as a process rather than a completed product. Writing studies are conducted as part of the process due to the completion of the written text. In writing classes, this approach tends to focus on the student, and the teacher only acts as a guide. The process writing approach includes actions that occur when a written text is created. This research analyzed the benefits of the process approach as a teachers’ approach in order to enhance student writing skills in recount text. The researcher used the literature review and some of the previous research which has been conducted before as the measurements toward the process approach could improve student writing skill in recount text whether they understood the material which given by the teacher or not. As a result of the literature review and previous research, the researcher found a significant influence of the process writing approach on writing progress and anxiety mainly in recount text. Abstract

The theoretical framework used in the present form is Gender Construction in content analysis. The research observed two hundred selected female parents who have practiced mixed calling among male and female genders. The Data were collected using interviews and recordings carried out through online discussion during female parental activities of the home financial industry [PKK]. The analysis revealed that during the interaction among female parents, they addressed each other's name by mentioning their husbands' names for several reasons: 1) a lack of self-confidence which is influenced by their habits of always glorifying their husbands in all their activities, 2) Javanese culture in the city of Blitar still binds them, and It is complicated to get rid of it, 3) most of the mothers still have lower occupational education than their husbands, and 4) they are more respected by others if the husband's name is always attached to every activity.
