Abstract

The aim of the research was to find out wich one that gives mathematics achievement between Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS), Numbered Heads Together (NHT) or conventional learning models in exponential function. The sampel on this research was 108 students consisted of 36 students in the first experimental group, 36 students in the second experimental group and 36 students in the control group. The instruments used were mathematics achievement test. The sampling teqnique is cluster random sampling. The analyze prerequisite Lilliefors metod for nourmality test and used Bartlett metod for homogeny tast. The data was analyzed using balanced one-way analysis of variance and to be assumed to Scheffe’ metod. The conclusions of the research were as follows. (1) TSTS learning model gives better mathematics achievement than NHT and conventional learning model, and NHT learning model gives better mathematics achievement than direct learning model.AbstrakTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui model manakah yang memberikan prestasi matematika antara model Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS), model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) atau model pembelajaran konvensional pada materi fungsi eksponensial. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah 108 siswa yang terdiri dari 36 siswa pada kelompok eksperimen pertama, 36 siswa pada kelompok eksperimen kedua dan 36 siswa pada kelompok kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes hasil belajar matematika. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah cluster random sampling. Metode analisis Lilliefors prasyarat untuk uji normalitas dan menggunakan metoda Bartlett untuk uji homogen. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis varians satu satu jalan dengan sel sama dan dilanjutkan uji Scheffe. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut. (1) model pembelajaran TSTS memberikan prestasi matematika yang lebih baik daripada NHT dan model pembelajaran konvensional, dan model pembelajaran NHT memberikan prestasi matematika yang lebih baik daripada model pembelajaran langsung.Kata kunci: TSTS, NHT, konvensional, prestasi matematika.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a module based on discovery learning in improving scientific literacy skills in the 11th grade of science class in senior high school. This study refers to the modified Borg and Gall model into 7 steps, (1) preliminary study; (2) planning; (3) preparation of modules; (4) expert judgment; (5) revisions; (6) limited trials; (7) revision II. The research samples are in XI MIPA 2 and XI MIPA class at 3 SMAN 1 Bringin. The technique of collecting data using written tests, questionnaires, and observations. Hypothesis testing to measure the increase in cognitive learning outcomes of students using an independent t-test on n-gain students. Assessments from material experts, subject matter teachers, colleagues, and high school students show that the modules that have been developing suitable for use in the learning process with an achievement level of 86%, 95%, 88%, and 90% respectively. The results of the t-test showed an increase in students' literacy skills (p <0.05) of 0.71 (high category). It can be concluded, the modules that have been developing become worthy to use in the learning process and effective in enhancing the scientific literacy skills of senior high school students in XI class.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul berdasarkan discovery learning dalam meningkatkan keterampilan literasi sains di kelas XI MIPA di Sekolah Menengah Atas. Studi ini mengacu pada model Borg dan Gall yang dimodifikasi menjadi 7 langkah, (1) studi pendahuluan; (2) perencanaan; (3) persiapan modul; (4) penilaian ahli; (5) revisi; (6) uji coba terbatas; (7) revisi II. Sampel penelitian adalah kelas XI MIPA 2 dan XI MIPA di 3 SMAN 1 Bringin. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes tertulis, angket, dan observasi. Pengujian hipotesis untuk mengukur peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif siswa menggunakan uji-t independen pada siswa n-gain. Penilaian dari ahli materi, guru materi pelajaran, kolega, dan siswa sekolah menengah menunjukkan bahwa modul yang telah dikembangkan cocok untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran dengan tingkat pencapaian masing-masing 86%, 95%, 88%, dan 90%. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan baca tulis siswa (p <0,05) dari 0,71 (kategori tinggi). Dapat disimpulkan, modul yang telah dikembangkan menjadi layak untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran dan efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan literasi ilmiah siswa SMA di kelas XI.Kata Kunci: discovery learning, modul, uji jaringan tumbuhan

Abstract

The study was aimed to determine the influence of the use of student worksheet (LKPD) based on Predict Observe Explain (POE) strategy on student learning outcomes in the light material. This research was an experimental study with the design of experimental quasi using the form of a one-group pretest-posttest. The population of this study was the eighth-grade students of junior high school (SMP). Data analysis techniques were tested with the learning result grouping techniques, N-Gain analysis, hypothesis testing, linear regression tests, t-test paired test and effect size tests. The result of the N-Gain was a value of 0.60 with a moderate N-Gain interpretation.  Linear regression test result was obtained a coefficient value of 0.7, with the sig regression value of 0,0. The result of the paired t-test achieved a significance value of 0.0, which indicated that there was a raise prior and following treatment. The result of the effect size test was 0.31 with a medium interpretation. The learning outcomes for psychomotor learners had an average value of 3.52 with excellent interpretation. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the POE strategy-based LKPD was considerably effective to be applied in schools resulting in an increasing effect of the students learning outcomes before and after the treatment of POE-based LKPD.

Abstract

Macang (Mangifera foetida L.) has potential as an effect herbal medicinal plant with antioxidant content, namely mangiferin. The aim of this study is to prove empirically study that macang has an immunomodulatory effect through preclinical testing. This study use white mice (Rattus norvegicus) as experimental animals and Staphylococcus aureus as test bacteria. Rats were give leaf extracts of 3 varieties of orally for 7 days using 3 prescribe doses in ppm. On the 8th day, each rats was induce by an intraperitoneal section with 0,5 ml of the bacterial suspension tested. Observation of peritoneal fluid through smear preparations includes 2 parameters, phagocytosis activity and capacity. The result showed that the immunomodulatory effects on batu varieties were effective at dose 2 (10 ppm = 0,01 mg/g), limus varieties and manis varieties were effective at dose 1 (1 ppm = 0,001 mg/g). According to this research, it was concluded that leaf extracts of three varieties macang could be used as immunomodulators.AbstrakMacang (Mangifera foetida L.) mempunyai potensi sebagai tumbuhan obat herbal dengan kandungan antioksidan yaitu mangiferin.  Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membuktikan efek imunomodulator pada tiga varietas macang (batu, limus dan manis) melalui uji praklinik.  Penelitian ini menggunakan tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) sebagai hewan uji dan Staphylococcus aureus sebagai bakteri uji.  Tikus diberi ekstrak daun tiga varietas macang secara oral selama tujuh hari menggunakan tiga serial dosis dalam satuan ppm.  Pada hari ke-8, setiap tikus putih diinduksi bagian intraperitoneal dengan 0,5 ml suspensi bakteri uji. Pengamatan cairan peritoneal melalui preparat apusan meliputi 2 parameter yaitu aktivitas dan kapasitas fagositosis.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efek imunomodulator pada varietas batu efektif pada dosis 2 (10 ppm=0,01 mg/g), varietas limus dan manis efektif pada dosis 1 (10 ppm=0,001mg/g). Disimpulkan bahwa daun macang (Mangifera foetida) berpotensi digunakan sebagai imunomodulator.Kata kunci : Fagositosis makrofag, Imunomodulator, Mangifera foetida

Abstract

This study was aimed to examine the effect of a remedial-integrated activity on dynamic fluids materials using generative learning to reduce student misconception in Senior High Schools (SMA). Pre-experimental method with the design of pretest-posttest control group was used in this study. This study was held in SMAN 7 Pontianak, West Kalimantan, involving the total number of 36 students from which were selected randomly at XI MIPA Class (Eleventh grade of Natural Science Class) using the random sampling with intact group technique. The instrument of this study used was the total question of a diagnostic test with 18 multiple-choice questionnaires. Then, the collected data was analysed using a descriptive statistic and t-test. The result of this study revealed that the remedial integration on Physics misconceptions positively decreased the levels of student misconceptions in Senior High Schools against dynamic fluids materials.

Abstract

The environmental problem-solving skill is influenced by many factors, including ecological literacy. This study aims to analyze the relationship between ecological literacy and environmental problem-solving skill in the Adiwiyata school of Tangerang City. The research method that used was quantitative descriptive with survey technique. The number of respondents consisted of 245 students of grade 11th Science from three Adiwiyatas' Senior High Schools in Tangerang City. Ecological literacy was measured by using test and questionnare, while the environmental problem-solving skill was measured using an essay test. The results showed that there was a weak positive relationship through the regression model Ŷ = -18,084 + 0,877X. The correlation coefficient obtained was 0.382 and the determination coefficient was 14.6%.  The higher score of the ecological literacy, so the students' environmental problem-solving skill will be better. Based on the results of the study, other schools also need to implement Adiwiyata programs in order to ecological literacy and students' environmental problem-solving skills could be better.ABSTRAKKemampuan memecahkan masalah lingkungan dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, termasuk literasi ekologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara literasi ekologi dengan kemampuan memecahkan masalah lingkungan di sekolah Adiwiyata, Kota Tangerang. Metode penelitian yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik survey. Jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 245 kelas 11 IPA yang berasal dari 3 sekolah Adiwiyata di Kota Tangerang. Literasi ekologi diukur dengan menggunakan tes dan kuesioner, sementara kemampuan memecahkan masalah lingkungan diukur dengan menggunakan tes essai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan dengan tingkatan yang lemah melalui model regresi Ŷ = -18,084 + 0,877X. Koefisien korelasi yang diperoleh sebesar 0.382 dan koefisien determinasi sebesar 14.6%. Semakin tinggi skor literasi ekologi maka kemampuan memecahkan masalah lingkungan siswa akan semakin baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, sekolah lain perlu mengimplementasikan Program Adiwiyata sebagai upaya agar terbentuk literasi ekologi dan kemampuan memecahkan masalah lingkungan yang lebih baik.Kata kunci: sekolah Adiwiyata, literasi ekologi, lingkungan, kemampuan memecahkan masalah

Abstract

This study aims to determine (physico-chemical) parameters of water and also community structure of plankton surface in natural tourism Labuan Cermin Biduk-Biduk, Berau, Kalimantan Timur. This study used Purposive Sampling method. Data obtained shows in plankton abundance, diversity index, evenness index and dominance index. The result of study showed that range of temperature between 24,04 oC -26,88 oC, range of salinity between 0.25-0.87o/oowhich classified in freshwater-brackish water, range of power flow between 1.121-2.930 m/s which classified in moderate level, the average pH between 6,76-7,48 which classified in neutral level, range of TDS between  514-788 mg/L which classified in normal level, respectively. Plankton sample showed 27 classes including of 22 classes of phytoplankton with 57 genera and 5 classes of zooplankton with 10 genera. The highest total plankton abundances of  35917 ind/L is in Station A and the lowest total plankton abundances of 8330 ind/L is in Station F. Keywords: Plankton, Labuan Cermin,  Diversity.

Abstract

AbstractThe Sundanese have been long used the home garden as a source of food, medicines, and construction materials. This study aims to document the plants diversity and its utilization in the Sindang Jaya Village, Disstict Cianjur, West Java. The research method was conducted by ethnobotany approach through surveys and interview. The data obtained were analyzed qualitatively by using descriptive statistics. This study found  100 species of the useful plants belonging 88 genera and 46 families in the yard in the Sindang Jaya home garden. The plants in the home garden uses as an ornamental (46 species), fruit (18 species), vegetable (14 species), and traditional medicine (species). The mangkokan (Polyschias scutellaria) and kedondong pagar (Polyscias fruticosa) are potential to be developed as the living fence as well as function as a source of food or vegetables. The Dioscorea hispida in home garden is one of the efforts of local communities to conserve wild plants.Keywords: Disocorea hispida, Etnis Sunda, Polyschias scutellaria, Polyscias fruticosa.

Abstract

Teori Intelligent Design (ID) merupakan teori tantangan terhadap teori evolusi yang diperkenalkan pada tingkat sekolah menengah. Tulisan ini mengkritisi mengenai perlunya perspektif pengajaran teori ID yang tepat sehingga mencegah pemberian pesan pembelajaran sains yang keliru, pada tiga ranah yaitu perbedaan fundamental antara teori ID dan evolusi, adanya proporsi pengajaran teori ID yang mendominasi arah penjelasan evolusi dan adanya intervensi agama dalam mendukung pembuktian sains dalam evolusi. Tulisan ini juga mengajukan pola pembelajaran yang menekankan pada kemampuan berpikir kritis dan debat sebagai solusi cara pengajaran teori ID di SMA. Pada akhirnya, dapat disimpulkan bahwa teori ID dapat diajarkan di sekolah dengan membatasi pada paparan saintifik terkait bukti-bukti ilmiah dan menghindari bukti teologis serta dengan mengedepankan kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam menganalisis bukti-bukti saintifik dalam kaitan menerima teori ID atau sebaliknya mempertahankan teori evolusi. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok pengelolaan lingkungan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Bhakti Kedungtuban Blora pada semester II tahun akademik 2012/2013. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII A SMP Bhakti Kedungtuban. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan dalam empat siklus dan setiap siklus terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran materi pengelolaan lingkungan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas VII A di SMP Bhakti Kedungtuban. Hal tersebut ditunjukkan dengan tercapainya standar ketuntasan belajar pada materi pokok pengelolaan lingkungan yaitu 80% dari seluruh siswa memperoleh nilai hasil belajar ≥75. Dimana 86,75% dari keseluruhan jumlah siswa pada kelas VII A mencapai ketuntasan belajar pada siklus IV.   Kata Kunci: Model Problem Based Learning (PBL)
