Abstract

Hadith scholars in Sham have distinctive characteristics compared to others, such as Makkah, Kufah, or Egypt. This is inseparable from the historical background behind the spread of hadith in this region and the war conflicts, which impact the stagnation of the recording of hadith, which is developing rapidly. The main objective of this study is to reveal the characteristics of the hadith madrasa in Sham. The method used is qualitative, in which documents are described and then analyzed, either by comparison with other papers or by developing a transmission model. Sham's hadith scholar was born when the embryo of recording hadiths began to be echoed, so many of the sahabah who recorded hadiths, Sham's hadith scholars, were known for their thorough nature. They were cautious in narrating hadiths where the hadith scholars of Sham had adopted the sighatul ada' method in the tahammul wa al-ada' hadith process. The strongest sanad in terms of 'ittishal' in Syria is al-Auza'i [157 H], from Hasan Athiyah al-Muhāribī Abū Bakr al-Dimasqī [120 H], because the narrators in the sanad this goes beyond the standards set by the muddy. The implications of this research are expected to be able to develop hadith studies, especially those related to regional hadith studies

Abstract

This research is motivated by the tendency of a literal understanding of hadith texts regarding halal tourism based on shari’a economics. This study aims to analyze and describe the hadith texts that form the basis for the concept of halal tourism. Using a literature review as the method, a qualitative approach will be employed to achieve this, with content analysis as the interpretation method utilized in this research. The study results indicate that the application of the hadith text requires contextualization to avoid limiting the concept of universal halal tourism with a shari’a label, particularly about shari’a economic imperatives. This study also shows that Indonesia is a conducive country, thanks to its moderate understanding that links Islamic texts with universal and local values, making it an ideal center for global halal tourist destinations. It is important to note that halal tourism is based on three fundamental principles: good intentions as the primary foundation, good service as a spirit, and wise spending (thrifty) as the primary value.

Abstract

This article aims to describe LDII's understanding of the hadith about being consistent with the congregation, analyze their understanding concerning the understanding of scholars, and describe the impact of this understanding on their social interactions with the general public. The research method is quantitative with a phenomenological analytical descriptive approach. They obtained the data through interviews with four categories.: LDII administrators/mullahs, former LDII members, "chameleons" (LDII members who started to doubt LDII teachings), and the general public. As a result, they understand that the congregation referred to in the hadith is the LDII congregation because it is the only one with an imam consistent with the Qur'an and the hadith is alleged and obeyed correctly. The Imam in question is Nur Hasan al-Ubaidah and his successors. It has an impact on their social interaction behaviour towards non-LDII communities, such as refusing to pray other than in LDII mosques, refusing to mimic non-LDII Imams, refusing to attend non-LDII recitations, refusing to marry non-LDII, requiring divorce from non-LDII husbands and wives, "nikah dalam" marriages within LDII, termination of inheritance rights for non-LDII, separation of pilgrims from government groups. Such understanding aims to build solidity and fanaticism towards LDII and protect them from the influence of non-LDII teachings. In conclusion, this interpretation is deviant because it bases itself on something other than the rules set by scholars. Their subjectivity appears to lead the hadith to the desired meaning and leads to truth claims and takfiri

Abstract

The Quran and the Hadith or prophetic traditions have defined the goal of Syariah as the manifestation of fairness and goodness. The Quran is a legal resource containing universal values guiding human life. Both women and men are essential beings. However, cultural, political, and interpretive power often make Islam seem unfriendly and discriminatory towards women. This study examines and analyses women's existence from an Islamic perspective. Specifically, this study will discuss women's existence in the discourse of gender equality, women's role in the domestic sphere, women's role in the public sphere, and the discourse on the future of women involving Islamic perspectives. The research method used is a literature review, specifically a study of Quranic and Hadith perspectives on gender roles and equality in Islam. The author systematically reviewed relevant literature, including Quranic verses, Hadith texts, and scholarly interpretations of these sources. The study's findings show that numerous verses in the Qur'an and Hadiths emphasize the equal status of men and women in the eyes of God and the need for justice and fairness in all aspects of life, including gender relations, women's role in the domestic sphere, and women's role in the public sphere. Women's participation in domestic and public life is essential for the country's development and progress towards a better future, particularly in Indonesia. Therefore, it is crucial to continue exploring and analyzing the different perspectives on women's roles in Islam, including in the domestic and public spheres, to promote gender equality and empowerment. This can be achieved through the development of more progressive fiqh that considers the evolving needs and roles of women in society.

Abstract

This study aims to explore aspects of communicator credibility from a hadith perspective. This study used a qualitative approach through content analysis. The researchers conducted data collection by exploring the literature on hadith criticism methods. A literature study was also carried out by tracing traditions related to the communicator's credibility. These traditions are mainly related to the character or personality contained in the personality of the Prophet Muhammad, including the characters of shiddîq, amanah, fathonah, and tablîgh. This study concludes that one of the crucial aspects in verifying and validating information is the communicator's credibility. In the era of information openness and accelerating digitalization of culture, verifying and validating the truth of information are biased. Thus, many social phenomena lead to disharmony and social disintegration amid the flow of information exchange. Hadith studies and the science of hadith reinforce the importance of communicator credibility as an effort to validate the information. Therefore, the audience or community possesses an authoritative source they can utilize as a reference for filtering and receiving information. Hadith and hadith science perspective assert that the building blocks of communicator credibility rely on intellectual, moral, and expertise aspects

Abstract

Islamic scholarship is built by various communities. As a religion that carries the spirit of liberation, Islam provides opportunities for anyone to self-actualize. Mawālī was an element of the early Muslim community that contributed positively to hadith scholarship. During the Umayyah Dynasty, the mawālī became a second-class community, but it had a positive impact on the mawālī to take another path to be considered the main community. This research uses a qualitative method with an analytical-descriptive approach. The author used a biographical dictionary of hadith narrators to find the research data. For the data found to be informative, the author uses a historical perspective to find out the traces of his scholarship. In addition, the author confirms the hadith books. Based on the elaboration, it can be concluded that the mawālī, with its various types, contributed greatly to Islamic scholarship, especially in the field of hadith studies, from the time of the Companions to the later generations.

Abstract

Several hadiths forbid the use of ra'yi in interpreting the Quran. This prohibition created a taboo for interpreting Quran with ra'yi. These hadiths are the main focus of this research. The purpose of this study was to trace the quantity and quality of hadith anti tafsir ra'yi. This study also intends to trace changes in the interpretation of these hadiths. The methods used in this study are takhrij hadith and intellectual history. We analysed the collected data using Hegelian and Foucaultian approaches. This research found that none of the hadiths of anti-tafsir ra'yi was sahih. However, these hadiths are very popular and widely accepted and practised. The study also found that the interpretation of the hadiths of anti-tafsir ra'yi has changed four times. These changes have also led to changes in how mufasirs interpret the Qur'an. The study concluded that because tafsir ra'yi was forbidden, the mufasirs eventually developed tafsir ma'tsur. The concept and practice of tafsir ma'tsur tafsir have changed four times due to changes in the interpretation of the hadith of anti-tafsir ra'yi.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate how the integration of Hadith can address the gap between traditional Islamic scholarship and modern learning. Specifically, this study aims to examine the impact of integrating Hadith into education on enhancing education's spiritual, moral, and ethical dimensions and improving the understanding and appreciation of Islamic principles among modern learners. Additionally, the study aims to explore the potential of integrating Hadith into education to develop critical thinking skills and promote a deeper understanding of Islamic tradition, strengthening the connection between Muslims and their faith. This qualitative study uses the library research method to gather information and literature related to the research topic, such as books, journals, articles, and other documents. The study's results indicate that integrating Hadith into education has promising results in enhancing education's spiritual, moral, and ethical dimensions. By integrating Hadith into the curriculum, learners are exposed to the rich Islamic tradition and principles, which helps them understand and appreciate the values and teachings of their faith. Moreover, integrating Hadith into education can develop critical thinking skills, which are essential for learners to navigate the complexities of modern societies while maintaining a solid connection to their faith. However, potential challenges associated with integrating Hadith into education include selecting relevant Hadiths, interpreting them correctly, and ensuring that they align with modern values and principles. Therefore, educators and curriculum developers must approach the integration of Hadith into education with a critical and reflective mindset, considering the diverse perspectives and needs of the Muslim community.

Abstract

This study examines how Sufi scholars have utilized Hadith to develop a framework for their spiritual practices, including pursuing inner knowledge and cultivating spiritual states. Additionally, it aims to analyze key Hadith narrations central to the development of Sufi thought, such as those concerning the nature of God, the role of Prophet Muhammad, and the path to spiritual enlightenment. This study utilizes a qualitative research approach to comprehensively analyze key Hadith narrations in Sufi literature and explore the relationship between Sufism and Hadith. The methodology involves a thorough literature review of primary and secondary sources, including Hadith collections and commentaries, works of Sufi scholars, and relevant academic studies. Qualitative data analysis techniques, such as content analysis and thematic coding, are employed to identify key themes and patterns in the Hadith narrations and Sufi interpretations. The study demonstrates that the teachings of Sufism are rooted in the prophetic tradition and can be referenced in various Hadiths of the Prophet that discuss the practice of Sufism. The Hadiths emphasize the importance of worshipping God to the best of one’s ability (ihsan), purifying oneself from things that can defile the heart and hinder the light of God (tazkiyat al-nafs), and practicing zuhud or detachment from excessive love for the material world. Sufis strive to find the basis of these Sufi teachings through esoteric interpretation of these Hadiths. This effort is not only essential for integrating Hadiths and Sufi teachings but also for seeking the Prophet’s most profound insights and teachings
