<![CDATA[The reform era that marked the collapse of the New Order regime, to change the political order and democracy in Indonesia. One of the changes brought about many changes is the system of direct elections of regional heads. These changes bring much praise from various institutions of democracy activists and to make Indonesia become the country's largest democracy. On the other hand the number of regional head election results directly tripping corruption cases showed there to be repaired This article tries to present data and facts officer which caught the corruption case and unravel the causes and the road that must be taken to save the elections as a result of political reform and constitution. Efforts to treat the elections and avoid corruption among the elected candidates is to simplify the election system, limit the cost of the campaign prospective head region, providing education to the public political awareness about the dangers of money politics and implement equality before the law against corruption
Era reformasi yang ditandai runtuhnya rezim orde baru, merubah tatanan politik dan demokrasi di Indonesia. Salah satu perubahan yang membawa banyak perubahan adalah sistem pemilihan kepala daerah secara langsung. Perubahan ini banyak membawa pujian dari berbagai lembaga penggiat demokrasi dan menjadikan Indonesia menjadi negara demokrasi terbesar. Namun disisi lain banyaknya kepala daerah hasil pemilihan secara langsung yang tersandung kasus korupsi menunjukkan ada yang harus diperbaiki Tulisan ini berusaha menyajikan data dan fakta kepala daerah yang terjerat kasus korupsi dan mengurai faktor penyebabnya dan Jalan yang harus ditempuh untuk menyelamatkan pilkada sebagai buah dari reformasi politik dan konstitusi. Upaya untuk merawat Pilkada dan menghindari calon terpilih melakukan korupsi diantaranya adalah menyederhanakan sistem pemilukada, membatasi biaya kampanye calon kepala daerah, memberikan pendidikan kesadaran politik kepada masyarakat tentang bahaya politik uang dan menerapkan equality before the law terhadap perilaku korupsi]]>
