Abstract

This research was conducted in Noelbaki Village, Central Kupang Subdistrict, Kupang Regency in October - November 2022, with the aim of knowing the productivity, income and factors affecting productivity and income of paddy rice farming in Noelbaki Village, Central Kupang Subdistrict, Kupang Regency. The selection of the research location was carried out purposively with the consideration that Noelbaki Village is a producer of paddy rice with the largest land area in the Central Kupang sub-district. The research sample was taken with the Simple Random Sampling technique, where there were 3 farmer groups, namely, the Dendeng farmer group totaling 345 members, the Joint Business farmer group totaling 220 members and the Dahulu Rasa farmer group totaling 180 members using a 10% error rate which took 75 respondents. The results showed that the productivity of rice farming ton/ha is still far from the national average productivity of 8 tons/ha. The income of paddy rice farming in Noelbaki Village obtained an average income of Rp 22,315,343. While partially or individually, the variable Farming Experience (X1), variable Land Area (X5), and Pesticides (X8) partially affect the productivity of rice paddy farming in the village. The variables that affect the income (Y2) are, variable Labor (X3), Cost (X4) and Land Area (X5).

Abstract

The Jajar Legowo planting system is a new innovation which in its application aims to increase production and income in lowland rice farming businesses when compared with Conventional planting systems, so this study aims to determine production and income and the magnitude of the difference in productivity and income from lowland rice farming using the Jajar Legowo and Conventional planting systems in Kuimasi Village, Fatuleu District, Kupang Regency. To find out the production and income of rice farming, it is necessary to calculate the farmer's income level using farming income analysis calculations. The results of this study (1) The total production cost of lowland rice farming in Kuimasi Village, Fatuleu District, Kupang Regency using the Jajar Legowo planting system is IDR. 8,420,754.3/Ha, total revenue of Rp. 41,250,000/Ha with an average income of Rp. 32,829,245.7/Ha and the total cost of lowland rice production using a conventional planting system is Rp. 7,258,456.3/Ha, total revenue of Rp. 52,500,000/Ha with an average income of Rp. 45,241,543.7/Ha. (2) The total production costs of lowland rice farming using the Jajar Legowo planting system and the conventional planting system have a difference of Rp. 1,162,289/Ha. The total revenue from rice farming using the Jajar Legowo planting system and the conventional planting system has a difference of Rp. 11,250,000/Ha. The average income using the Jajar Legowo planting system and the conventional planting system has a difference in income of Rp. 12,412,298/Ha in one planting season. Based on these calculations, it can be concluded that the total production costs using the Jajar Legowo planting system are greater than the total production costs using the Conventional planting system, but the total revenue and income using the Conventional planting system is greater than the total revenue and income using the Jajar Legowo planting system.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of agricultural extension agents in increasing vegetable crop production. The next objective is to determine the efforts made by extension agents to increase vegetable crop production and the production problems faced by farmers. The research was conducted in Kesetnana Village, South Mollo District, South Central Timor District. Measurements use an ordinal scale and are quantified with a Likert scale. Analysis of the role of extension agents used quantitative descriptive analysis by comparing the percentage value of achieving the maximum score of the average score with a reference table. Meanwhile, to find out the efforts made by extension workers to increase vegetable crop production and production problems faced by farmers with qualitative descriptive analysis. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that the average score of the agricultural instructor's role as a facilitator in increasing the production of vegetable farming in the Nekmese Farmer Group averaged 2.31 (77.08%). The average score of the role of agricultural extension as a motivator is 2.52. (84.02%) and the average score of the role of extension workers as educators is 2.48 (82.64%). This shows that the role of agricultural extension workers as motivators and educators in improving vegetable farming in the Nekmese farmer group is classified as "playing a role". While the role of the extension worker as a facilitator is classified as "enough role". Efforts made by extension workers are advocating the use of modern technology, use of fertilizers, introducing farmers to the symptoms of various diseases or pests and what actions should be taken. The problem that is often found in the Nekmese farmer group is the lack of assistance with facilities and infrastructure, the lack of subsidies for fertilizers and also medicines for farmers.

Abstract

This research was carried out at the Alfa Omega Tarus Fondation, Central Kupang District, Kupang Regency from June to July 2023. This research was conducted with the aim of (1) to determine the characteristics of Moringa chocolate products at the Alfa Omega Tarus Foundation, Central Kupang District, Kupang Regency, (2) knowing the marketing strategy for Moringa chocolate implemented at the Alfa Omega Tarus Foundation, (3) knowing how the Moringa chocolate production process works. This research used four methods, namely observation, interviews, documentation and questionnaires with a total of 20 respondents. The types of data collected are primary and secondary data. The data that was collected was analyzed using the SWOT analysis method. The research results show that the characteristics of this Moringa chocolate product arethat it is made from selected ingredients combined with Moringa leaves to produce chocolate with a unique, delicious taste and with the addition of cashew nuts and a thick texture. It is not made with preservatives or any chemicals so it is very good for the body with a net weight of 30g for Rp. 10,000/packaging and also includes a production permit number 204530301004-24 along with halal labeling on the packaging. The company's marketing strategy is implemented using a Growth Oriented Strategy. This is because the SWOT analysis Cartesian diagram shows that the highest total score is in the first quadrant where this quadrant is a profitable situation. The Alfa Omega Foundation has many opportunities and strengths so that it can seize and exploit existing opportunities while minimizing weaknesses and overcoming various threats. The Moringa chocolate production process includes preparing raw materials, melting the chocolate, adding Moringa leaf powder, molding the Moringa chocolate, adding condiments, freezing the Moringa chocolate, packaging and labeling, and marketing.
