Abstract

The Effect of Adding Natural Ingredients to Artificial Feed on the Color Brightness Level of Goldfish (Cyprinus carpio Linn). This research aims to determine the effect of adding natural ingredients to artificial feed on the level of color brightness of goldfish (Cyprinus carpio Linn), and the growth rate and survival rate of the test fish. The method used in this research is an experimental method using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications with a feeding frequency of three times per day with a percentage of 5% of the body weight of the test fish, a natural ingredient used in making artificial feed. These are pumpkin flour (Cucurbita moschata), mangosteen rind flour (Garcinia mangostana L), and carrot flour (Daucus carota L) with the same dose in each treatment, namely 25% of 1 kg of feed. Based on the results of variance analysis, the brightness level of goldfish color has a very real influence. The highest increase in the color of the test fish was obtained in treatment A, pumpkin flour, amounting to (1.37) on the Toca color finder scale (from pale orange to dark orange), followed by the second highest in treatment C, carrot flour, amounting to (1.2), treatment B flour. Mangosteen peel was in third position with an increase in color of (0.94) and the lowest increase in color change occurred in treatment D (control = without the addition of natural ingredients) of 0.7. However, absolute weight and length growth did not have a real influence. The overall graduation rate is 87.49%. The average water quality parameters are temperature 26-29oC, pH 7.5-7.9 and ammonia 0.25 ppm.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain data on the suitability of ecotourism areas based on ecological parameters. The parameters observed were mangrove density & thickness, tidal height, mangrove species diversity, and the types of biota that live in it. To calculate mangrove density, the quadratic transect method was used with a size of 10 x 10 m as many as 20 plot pieces. While mangrove thickness is calculated by measuring the outer distance of mangroves towards the mainland. Furthermore, the parameters of biota diversity were carried out by direct observation techniques at the research site. The results of the analysis showed a mangrove thickness of 197.37 metres with a density of 1,520 individuals/ha. There are 10 mangrove species including Sonneratia alba, Avicennia marina, Rhizophora apiculate, R. mucronate, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Lumnitzera littorea, Acanthus ilicifolius, Acrostichum speciosum, Pemphis acidula, Nypa fruticans. The average tide height is 1.24 m and 20 species of biota consisting of 3 bivalve species, 1 Gastropoda, 6 fish, 6 birds, 2 shrimps, and 2 crabs. The results of the tourism suitability analysis showed 91% with a very suitable category

Abstract

This research was conducted in February-March 2023, at the Dharmawangsa University Laboratory. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of fish meal substitution using maggot flour in floating pellets on growth, life expectancy of tilapia and FCR (Food Conversion Ratio). Tilapia is widely cultivated by the community so that it has economic value with high market demand. The high price of feed causes many farmers to suffer losses. To overcome the problem of losses, cultivators use maggot as a substitute for fish meal to be used as a local raw material which has the advantage of being relatively cheap, high protein and increasing the digestibility of fish. The research method used experimental methods with the treatment of artificial feeding with fish meal protein sources and maggot flour protein sources and analyzed using the T test. The results of absolute growth research on fish meal pellets were 3.5 and maggot flour pellets 3.6. This shows that maggot flour can be used as a local raw material in the manufacture of fish feed. The results of the survival rate of tilapia by giving fish meal pellets were 60% and giving maggot flour pellets was 55%. Fish meal pellets and giving maggot flour pellets show that they can support the basic needs of fish and can support fish life. The results of the study showed that the FCR value for fish meal pellets was 1.36 and for maggot flour pellets was 1.36.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan probiotik disinyalir dapat membantu meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh ikan dan memperbaiki kualitas air, tentunya memperbaiki tingkat kelulusan hidup. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan probiotik EM-4 (Effective Microorganisme-4) pada pakan terhadap terhadap tebar yang berbeda dalam peningkatan kelulusan hidup dan pertumbuhan ikan lele dumbo. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari bulan September sampai bulan Oktober 2019. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan berupa jumlah kepadatan penebaran yang berbeda (P1: 50 ekor/48 liter air), (P2 : 65 ekor/48 liter air), (P3 : 80 ekor/48 liter air) dan (P4 : 95 ekor/ 48 liter air). Data dianalisis dengan Analisis Variansi (ANAVA) setelah memenuhi persyaratan, selanjutnya dilakukan uji homogenitas ragam galat dan menggunakan sebaran chi-kuadrat dengan rumus Steel dan Torries (2003). Hasil menunjukkan jumlah kepadatan penebaran yang berbeda berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan kelulusan hidup benih ikan lele dumbo (Clarias gariepinus). Kepadatan penebaran yang optimal terhadap pertumbuhan dan kelulusan hidup benih ikan lele dumbo kepadatan penebaran 50 ekor/48 liter air, dengan rata-rata kelulusan hidup 90,66 %, rata-rata pertumbuhan berat mutlak 19,10 gram dan rata-rata pertumbuhan panjang tubuh 9 cm.This study aimed to determine the effect of the use of EM-4 probiotics (effective microorganisms-4) in feed on different stockings in increasing the survival rate and growth of African catfish. This research was conducted by the Faculty of Fisheries Laboratory of the Dharmawangsa University Medan from September to October 2019. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design,  with 4 treatments 3 replications. The treatment consists of the different amounts of stocking density (P1: 50 fish / 48 liters of water), (P2: 65 fish / 48 liters of water), (P3: 80 fish / 48 liters of water) and (P4: 95 fish / 48 liters of water). The observation result Data is analyzed by variance analysis (ANAVA) after meeting the requirements,  Subsequently conducted a variety of error test homogenized and use a chi-squared spread with the formula Steel and Torries (2003). The results showed that the different amounts of stocking density affected the growth and graduation of African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) seeds. The optimal density of stocking on the growth and graduation of live African catfish is the density of 50 fish/ 48 liters of water, with an average survival rate of 90.66%, average growth of absolute weight of 19.10 grams and average growth length of 9 cm

Abstract

Cyprinus carpio Linn merupakan ikan konsumsi air tawar yang banyak dipelihara pembudidaya ikan. Banyak dipelihara pada Daerah Aliran Sungai, khususnya sungai-sungai di Sumatera Utara. Namun belakangan sungai-sungai mulai tercemar, terutama limbah. Deterjen merupakan salah satu limbah yang sering masuk ke sungai. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Balai Benih Ikan (BBI) Kota Binjai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian deterjen pada kelulusan hidup benih ikan mas. Deterjen merupakan bahan kimia yang memiliki konstribusi cukup besar terhadap lingkungan sebagai limbah rumah tangga. Sedangkan hewan uji yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah benih ikan mas berukuran panjang antara 5-8 cm (diukur dari kepala sampai ujung ekor) dengan berat antara 3-4 gram, jumlah ikan uji sebanyak 5 ekor per akuarium. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam waktu 48 jam didapatkan hasil perlakuan pemberian deterjen dengan kosentrasi 0% (kontrol); 2,5%; 5%; 7,5%; dan 10%. Analisis data mengunakan metode RAL (Rancangan Acak Lengkap). Pemberian deterjen pada kualitas air berpengaruh sangat nyata untuk kelulusan hidup benih ikan mas, diantaranya perlakuan E (100%), perlakuan D (92 %), C (46,6%), B (6,67%) A (kontrol). Suhu dalam pengaruh deterjen dalam penelitian ini berada pada kisaran 26,60C-28,30C dan pH air pada kisaran 7,8-8,3.
