Abstract

This study described the implementation of role-play in enhancing listening and speaking skills using PjBL in the English II course. Through a qualitative descriptive approach where the researcher acts as an observer and participant in the classroom, this study indicated that the role-play technique allows students to use English in real-life situations actively. Students can enhance their listening and speaking skills, boost their confidence in communication, and practice teamwork and collaboration within the groups. The project-based role-play makes language learning more relevant and authentic. These insights could shape the future EFL/ESL teaching techniques by emphasizing the transformative role of project-based role-play techniques in language education. By integrating such techniques into their pedagogical practices, language teachers can create dynamic learning environments that foster comprehensive language acquisition.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat implementasi metode pembelajaran Project based Learning pada mata kuliah Semantik terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa prodi Sastra Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian Tindakan kelas. Penelitian dilakukan pada mahasiswa Program Studi Sastra Indonesia Jurusan Sejarah, Seni dan Arkeologi Kelas R002 Tahun akademik 2022/2023 dengan hasil peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif pada mata kuliah Semantik. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari adanya peningkatan hasil belajar mahasiswa pada tiap siklusnya setelah diterapkannya metode pembelajaran Project based Learning. Pada tahap pra siklus diketahui nilai rata-rata mahasiswa yakni sebesar 67,5. Setelah diterapkan metode PJBL pada siklus pertama  diketahui nilai rata-rata kelas meningkat menjadi 69,78. Kemudian terjadi lagi peningkatan nilai rata-rata pada siklus kedua yakni menjadi 72,8. Berdasarkan hasil refleksi siklus 2 didapat data bahwa mahasiswa yang memperoleh nilai 70 ke atas menjadi 28 orang dengan persentase sebanyak 81,25% dari total 32 mahasiswa. Abstract This research aims to see the implementation of the Project based Learning learning method in the Semantics course on the creative thinking abilities of Sastra Indonesia study program students. The research method used is classroom action research. The research was conducted on students of the Sastra Indonesia program, Department of History, Art and Archeology, Class R002 for the 2022/2023 academic year with results of increasing creative thinking abilities in the Semantics subject. This can be seen from the increase in student learning outcomes in each cycle after implementing the Project based Learning learning method. At the pre-cycle stage, it was found that the average student score was 67.5. After implementing the PJBL method in the first cycle, it was found that the class average value increased to 69.78. Then there was another increase in the average value in the second cycle, namely to 72.8. Based on the results of cycle 2 reflection, data was obtained that there were 28 students who got a score of 70 and above with a percentage of 81.25% of the total 32 students.

Abstract

This research aims to find out and understand how female characters are represented in the film 3 Srikandi using Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis approach. The primary data source in this research is the feature film 3 Srikandi by Iman Brotoseno. The second source of data in this research is writing which contains information about the true story of the character Srikandi which is relevant to the research topic and interviews with sources who made the film 3 Srikandi. Data collection techniques were carried out by watching films periodically, changing films in the form of transcriptions, and conducting interviews with the screenwriter of the film 3 Srikandi to find out the film production process. Data analysis was carried out in three stages, namely text analysis, discourse practice analysis and sociocultural analysis. At the text analysis stage, 34 linguistic feature data were found that were used to represent women, including 15 rhetorical question data, 11 repetition data, 6 cynicism data and 2 symbolic data. In discourse practice, the text production section shows that this film wants to appreciate female athletes who have contributed to Indonesia and introduce to the public that there are three Indonesian women who won their first medals in the sport of archery. Meanwhile, text consumption shows that this film wants to show how the female characters struggle to achieve victory, shows the problems of women who want freedom to determine their own dreams and life choices, and conveys the message that to become a successful athlete you have to go through hard training, discipline, sacrifice and struggle. Then, in the sociocultural analysis of the film 3 Srikandi, we want to convey that women are individuals who also have rights and freedoms in society. Women also have the right to make their own choices and make their dreams come true. Through this film, it is hoped that society will no longer look at gender in terms of providing opportunities and support for each individual. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan memahami bagaimana representasi tokoh perempuan dalam film 3 Srikandi menggunakan pendekatan analisis wacana kritis Norman Fairclough. Sumber data utama dalam penelitian ini adalah film layar lebar 3 Srikandi karya Iman Brotoseno. Sumber data kedua dalam penelitian ini yaitu tulisan yang memuat informasi mengenai kisah nyata dari tokoh Srikandi yang relevan dengan topik penelitian dan wawancara dengan narasumber pembuat film 3 Srikandi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menonton film secara berkala, mengubah film dalam bentuk transkripsi, dan melakukan wawancara dengan penulis skenario film 3 Srikandi untuk mengetahui proses produksi film. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tiga tahapan, yaitu analisis teks, analisis praktik wacana dan analisis sosiokultural. Pada tahapan analisis teks ditemukan 34 data fitur linguistik yang digunakan untuk merepresentasikan perempuan, diantaranya 15 data pertanyaan retoris, 11 data repetisi, 6 data sinisme dan 2 data simbolik. Pada praktik wacana, bagian produksi teks menunjukkan bahwa film ini ingin mengapresiasi sosok atlet perempuan yang telah berjasa untuk Indonesia dan memperkenalkan pada masyarakat bahwa terdapat tiga perempuan Indonesia yang meraih medali pertama melalui cabang olahraga panahan. Sementara konsumsi teks menunjukkan film ini ingin menampilkan bagaimana perjuangan para tokoh perempuan meraih kemenangan, memperlihatkan permasalahan perempuan yang ingin kebebasan dalam menentukan impian dan pilihan hidup sendiri, serta menyampaikan pesan untuk menjadi atlet yang sukses harus melalui latihan keras, disiplin, pengorbanan dan perjuangan. Kemudian pada analisis sosiokuktural film 3 Srikandi ingin menyampaikan bahwa perempuan merupakan individu yang juga memiliki hak dan kebebasan dalam kehidupan masyarakat. Perempuan juga berhak untuk menentukan sendiri pilihannya dan mewujudkan impiannya. Melalui film ini masyarakat diharapkan tidak lagi memandang gender dalam hal memberikan kesempatan dan dukungan pada setiap individu.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the forms of inclusion and exclusion of social actors in the film Filosofi Kopi: 3 Ben & Jody by Angga Dwimas Sangsoko usingTheo van Leeuwen’s critical disourse analysis approach. This research uses a qualitative approach using descriptive methods. The author obtained the data sources in this research from several internet platforms such as Netflix which can be accessed online. The results of this research show that there are 36 inclusions in the form of differentiation, objectivation, abstraction, nomination, categorization, assimilation, individualization, association, dissociation and 1 form of exclusion in the form of using passive constructions and no form of using nominalization constructions. Through this analysis, it was found that in the story of the film “Filosofi Kopi 3: Ben & Jody”, it shows more about the identity of social actors and shows how marginalized groups such as farmers experience oppression that they should not have, while the actors who is the main actor is the company not shown. The producer favors actors helping farmers to fight for their customary land by showing unpleasant acts such as oppression and forced labor. This can be seen from the large amount of inclusion data obtained by showing actors playing the role of victim. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripiskan bentuk-bentuk Inklusi dan Eksklusi aktor sosial dalam film Filosofi Kopi 3: Ben & Jody karya Angga Dwimas Sangsoko menggunakan Pendekatan analisis wacana kritis milik Theo van Leeuwen. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Sumber data yang ada di dalam penelitian ini penulis peroleh dari beberapa platform internet seperti Netflix yang dapat di akses secara online. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat sebanyak 36 inklusi dalam bentuk diferensiasi, objektivasi, abstraksi, nominasi, kategorisasi, asimilasi, individualisasi, asosiasi, disosiasi dan 1 bentuk eksklusi dalam bentuk penggunaan kontruksi pasif serta tidak ada bentuk penggunaan kontruksi nominalisasi. Melalui analisis tersebut, ditemukanlah pandangan bahwa dalam tuturan film “Filosofi Kopi3: Ben & Jody” ini, lebih banyak menampilkan bagaimana identitas aktor sosial dan memperlihatkan bagaimana kaum marginal seperti petani mendapatkan penindasan yang seharusnya tidak mereka dapatkan, sedangkan aktor yang menjadi pelaku utama yaitu perusahaan tidak diperlihatkan. Sang produser lebih memihak para aktor membantu para petani untuk memperjuangkan tanah ulayatnya dengan menampilkan perbuatan-perbuatan tidak menyenangkan seperti penindasan, dan kerja paksa, ini dapat dilihat dari banyaknya data inklusi yang diperoleh dengan menampilkan para aktor yang berperan sebagai korban.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the reliability of the thesis assessment instrument using Generalizability Theory (G-Theory).  This research is a quantitative study that applies G-Theory. G-Theory is unique and useful in evaluating the sources of actual variance and error in any measurement design. Thus, G-Theory contributes to improving reliability and validity in assessment. In this study, data were collected using a thesis assessment instrument that had been tested on thesis assessments conducted at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Jambi.  G-Theory analysis in this study includes several main points, namely G-Study, Optimization (D-Study), and G-facets analysis. The results of the analysis show that the assessment instrument has a fairly high level of reliability with a G coefficient of 0.78. This indicates that the instrument can be used effectively in the thesis assessment. In addition, based on the results of the analysis carried out, recommendations were obtained to reassess item number two, increase the number of raters to six people to increase the reliability of the instrument to 0.80 to meet the satisfactory category. The resulting recommendations can be used by developers to improve the reliability of instruments in future assessment activities. This research is also expected to be a reference for future researchers in applying G-Theory in analyzing the reliability of measurement instruments.
