Abstract

Pakcoy as a type of vegetable that we often encounter on the market. This plant can be cultivated easily, and can be consumed directly or processed into complementary vegetables in meatballs, chicken noodles, and other types of food. Excessive use of chemical fertilizers will cause soil damage in the long term. Reducing chemical fertilizers can be done by giving rice washing water, because usually when washing rice, the water used is just thrown away. In fact, this rice washing water waste has the potential as liquid organic fertilizer. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of rinsing rice washing water on the growth and yield of pakcoy plants. The research design used a randomized block design (RAK) with a single factor, namely the rice washing water rinse, namely C0 = control, C1 = the first rinse of rice washing water, C2 = the second rinse of rice washing water, and C3 = the third rinse of rice washing water. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, plant diameter, fresh root weight, and total fresh weight. The results showed that rice washing water rinse had no significant effect on all observed parameters. However, C3 treatment has the greatest value for all observations compared to the control treatment, C1, or C2.

Abstract

Lettuce is one of the most popular vegetables from various groups, because it does not need special preparation to enjoy it immediately. Its cultivation is relatively easy and does not require special techniques, making lettuce can be grown in polybags or hydroponically. Rice washing water, which is usually not utilized, actually has the potential as liquid organic fertilizer. Besides being practical and environmentally friendly, liquid organic fertilizer can be applied easily. This study aims to determine the effect of the appropriate application time interval for giving rice washing water on the growth and yield of lettuce. This research was conducted in August-October 2020 using polybags containing soil: manure: husk (1: 1: 1). The design used was a single factor completely randomized block design (RAKL). The factor is the application time interval for giving rice washing water with 4 levels, namely: W0 = without giving rice washing water (control), W1 = once every 2 days, W2 = once every 4 days and W3 = once every 6 days with a dose of 50 ml polybag-1. The results showed that the time interval treatment with washing rice water had no significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, diameter, fresh root weight, and total fresh weight of lettuce plants. However, the treatment of giving rice washing water at an interval of 6 days (W3) once showed a better value than without treatment, the time interval for giving rice washing water once every 2 days or 4 days.

Abstract

Mustard greens (Brassica rapa L.) is a vegetable crop that is widely consumed by Indonesians. The use of quality seeds can increase productivity. The quality of seeds can decrease during the storage period. The process of quality degradation is a natural and unavoidable process. One method of artificially fast aging of the seeds is by electrocuting the seeds using chemicals. Depression of seeds with alcohol can be used to test the deterioration of seeds due to poisoning caused by alcohol. This study aims to influence the ethanol / alcohol concentration and the duration of agitation on the viability of caisin seeds. This study used a factorial treatment design (2x5) in a completely randomized design (CRD) with four replications. The first factor is the concentration of ethanol (20% and 25%) and the second factor is the duration of the stroke (30, 60, 90, 120, and 150 minutes). The results showed that the ethanol concentration and the calming time had a significant effect on the viability of the caisin seeds. The viability of caisin seeds decreased to 45.5% with ethanol pressure for 150 minutes at a concentration of 20%.

Abstract

Kondisi banjir pada lahan rawa lebak pada musim penghujan sekitar 3-6 bulan memiliki potensi dikembangkan untuk praktik budidaya sayuran terapung terutama sayuran daun seperti caisin, Brassica juncea L.. Faktor penting yang perlu diperhatikan dalam budidaya caisin terapung diantaranya yaitu pemilihan varietas dan dosis pupuk yang digunakan. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendapatkan varietas dan dosis pupuk NPK yang terbaik pada budidaya caisin terapung di lahan rawa lebak padi pada periode banjir. Penelitian dilaksanakan di lahan rawa lebak petani, Desa Pelabuhan Dalam, Pemulutan, Sumatera Selatan pada Januari-Maret 2019. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Petak Terbagi (Split Plot Design) dengan dengan dua faktor. Faktor pertama yaitu Varietas Caisin yang terdiri atas Espana, Shinta dan Tosakan. Faktor kedua yaitu dosis pupuk NPK yang terdiri atas T1 (2.5 g tanaman-1), T2 (5 g tanaman-1), dan T3 (7.5 g tanaman-1). Komposisi media tanam yang digunakan yaitu tanah, pupuk kendang ayam dan sekam padi dengan perbandingan 1:1:1 (v:v:v). Media dicampur secara merata dan diisikan ke dalam polibag ukuran 30 cm x 30 cm. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pada budidaya caisin terapung, nilai SPAD masing-masing varietas caisin menunjukkan hasil yang tidak berbeda nyata, sedangkan pemupukan NPK dosis 7.5 tanaman-1 menunjukkan nilai SPAD tertinggi namun berbeda tidak nyata dengan pemupukan NPK dosis 5.0 g tanaman-1. Hasil panen caisin varietas Espana dan Tosakan menunjukkan hasil yang tidak berbeda nyata, sedangkan perbedaan dosis pupuk NPK yang diberikan memberikan hasil yang berbeda nyata antar dosis. Budidaya caisin memberikan hasil terbaik pada kombinasi antara penggunaan Varietas Espana dan dosis pupuk NPK 7.5 g tanaman-1.

Abstract

ABSTRAKDiabetes Mellitus merupakan penyakit metabolik yang berlangsung kronik di mana diabetisi tidak bisa memproduksi insulin dalam jumlah cukup atau tubuh tidak mampu menggunakan insulin secara efektif sehingga terjadi kelebihan gula di dalam darah. Pengendalian gula darah yang baik merupakan faktor kunci dalam mencegah terjadinya komplikasi. Hal ini dapat dicapai dengan pemberian obat antidiabetes, perubahan gaya hidup, maupun pengukuran kadar gula darah dan pemeriksaan laboratorium secara rutin. Meskipun penelitian tentang pengalaman diabetisi dalam mengendalikan gula darah sudah banyak, namun tetap ada kebutuhan untuk membedakan antara faktor dan proses yang terlibat dalam pengendalian gula darah lain seperti proses dalam penggunaan BPJS bagi diabetisi dan memperoleh gambaran pengalaman diabetisi tipe II yang menggunakan BPJS dalam mengendalikan gula darah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Kami mewawancarai 4 partisipan pengguna BPJS. Wawancara dianalisis secara tematik terstruktur dengan menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologi. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah tereksplorasinya pengalaman partisipan yang menggunakan BPJS dalam mengendalikan gula darah dan terdapat empat tema yang dihasilkan antara lain pemahaman diabetisi tentang program BPJS untuk DM, pemanfaatan diabetisi yang menggunakan BPJS dalam mengendalikan gula darah, hambatan yang dirasakan diabetisi yang menggunakan BPJS dalam mengendalikan gula darah, upaya yang dilakukan diabetisi yang menggunakan BPJS dalam mengendalikan gula darah. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa tema yang diperoleh dari hasil wawancara mendalam dapat menjawab pertanyaan penelitian yakni pengalaman diabetisi yang menggunakan BPJS dalam mengendalikan gula darah memerlukan upaya khusus berupa edukasi yang berkesinambungan agar pemanfaatan BPJS dapat dilaksanakan sebaik-baiknya. Disarankan pula bagi diabetisi agar lebih memahami alur rujukan/penggunaan BPJS sebagai dasar pengendalian gula darah yang maksimal.Kata kunci: pengalaman, diabetisi, pengendalian gula darah, BPJSABSTRACTDiabetes Mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease in which the diabetics cannot produce insulin in sufficient amount or cannot use insulin effectively so that there is an excessive glucose in the blood. A good glucose controlling is the key factor in preventing complication. It can be reached by giving anti-diabetes medicine, changing lifestyle, and regular glucose measurement and laboratory checking. Although there have been a lot of research on diabetics’ experience in controlling glucose, there is still a need to differentiate between the other factors and processes involved in controlling glucose such as the process of using National Health Care Security (BPJS) and getting descriptions of type II diabetics using National Health Care Security (BPJS)’s experience in controlling glucose. This research was a qualitative research. We interviewed 4 participants who are BPJS users. The result of the interview was analyzed thematically structured by using phenomenology approach. The result obtained was the exploration of participants using BPJS experience in controlling glucose. There were also 4 themes resulted in this research, those were diabetics’ understanding toward BPJS program for Diabetes Mellitus, the diabetics using BPJS’ utilization in controlling glucose, the diabetics using BPJS’ obstacle in controlling glucose, and the diabetics using BPJS’ efforts in controlling glucose. So, it can be concluded that the themes obtained from deep interview can answer the research question, which is diabetics using BPJS experience in controlling glucose needs specific efforts in the form of continuous education so BPJS utilization can be done well. It is suggested that diabetics have more understanding toward the reference procedure/ BPJS utilization as the basic of maximum glucose controlling.Keywords: experience, diabetic, glucose controlling, BPJS
