Abstract

The objectives of this research was to determine the diversity of species and feeding-guild of avifauna at Gunung Pinang, Banten. This research was conducted in August-December 2017. Data collection was carried out using Point Counts method. Result show that there are 43 species of avifauna from 24 families, 3 species of families Accipitridae among them are migrants. The identified Avifauna was divided into 6 major feed groups i.e insectivor as many as 21 species of birds (49%), frugivor are 7 species (16%), carnivor are 6 species (14%), granivor are 5 species (11%), nectarivor are 2 species (5%) and omnivor that eat more than one type of feed as many as 2 species (5%). Diversity of avifauna at Gunung Pinang considered as high with the index value of shannon diversity is 3.44. The high diversity of avifauna at Gunung Pinang describe the ecological conditions of the ecosystem that can support avifauna as well as a habitat for playing, shelter, rest, foraging, and nesting for avifauna. Keywords: avifauna, diversity, feeding-guild, Gunung Pinang

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji keanekaragaman hayati avifauna dan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang spesies avifauna di Gunung Pinang, Kabupaten Serang, Banten. Penelitian dilakukan di Gunung Pinang, dan Desa Pejaten pada Juli 2017-Maret 2018. Dalam taksonomi ilmiah ada 43 spesies avifauna dari 24 famili. Berdasarkan taksonomi rakyat ada 37 generik dan 12 spesies. Pengetahuan masyarakat tentang avifauna tidak dapat dipisahkan dari aspek ekonomi, ekologi, dan sosial budaya yang berkembang di masyarakat. Ini terlihat dari pemanfaatan spesies avifauna dan kemampuan komunitas untuk mengklasifikasikan dan menamai spesies avifauna berdasarkan morfologi, habitat, perilaku, dan atribut suara. Nama setiap spesies burung oleh masyarakat didasarkan pada pengamatan mereka terhadap alam dan lingkungan mereka dalam kehidupan sehari-hari yang dituangkan dalam bahasa mereka yaitu Jawa Sérang.

Abstract

Adolescents are potential human resource assets as the future successor of the nation. Adolescents are vulnerable to various problems related to sexual and reproductive health, including sexual violence, reproductive hygiene related to the risk of sexually transmitted infections, the risk of unwanted pregnancy. Responding to these conditions, the Biology Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Pamulang University conducted Community Service (PKM) which touched directly on the target object (adolescents) by introducing reproductive organs and reproductive health to students at Pondok Pesantren Tahfidz Quran Ibnu Abbas (Ponpes Ibnu Abbas), Taktakan District, Serang City, Banten Province. The PKM was carried out within the time span of October 2023 - January 2024, with the training conducted in November 2023. PKM activities use socialization and counseling methods on reproductive organs and reproductive health, in collaboration with the Midwifery Study Program of Bhakti Kencana University Serang. PKM activities of Biology Study Program Lecturers, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Pamulang University, were very well received by the community (Ponpes Ibnu Abbas), and were considered important to be carried out to educate and provide real benefits to the community, especially in the city of Serang.
