Abstract

The type of sport suggested for Diabetes Mellitus patient is Diabetes Gym, but most societies, especially diabetes mellitus patients are lazy to do it. On diabetes mellitus type 2, diabetes gym acts as glycemic control which manages and control blood sugar rate. This research purposes to know diabetes gym influence toward the decrease of blood sugar rate on Diabetes Mellitus patient type 2 in Puskesmas Pakis Surabaya. This research used quasy experiment design. Total of the population of all Diabetes Mellitus patients type 2 is 28 respondents taken by probability sampling - simple random sampling technique; 14 respondents in control group and 14 respondents in treatment group. The independent variable is Diabetes Gym and the dependent variable is the decrease of blood sugar rate. Data are collected by using Glucometer, striptest, needle and observation sheet. Data are analyzed by using Wilcoxon signed rank test with α < 0.05. The result of this research shows that almost all of the respondents in the treatment group have a good category of blood sugar decrease after performing gym, meanwhile almost all of the respondents in control group that do not perform gym have an adequate category of blood sugar decrease. Then, the result is analyzed by Wilcoxon signed rank test and obtained ρ (0,019) < α (0,05) so H0 is refused. It means that there is an influence of diabetes gym to the decrease of blood sugar on the Diabetes Mellitus patients type 2 in Puskesmas Pakis Surabaya. Performing Diabetes Gym influences in decreasing blood sugar rate. Therefore, nurse can take a part in leading diabetes patients to perform diabetes gym so it can be used as the therapy in controlling and decreasing blood sugar rate.

Abstract

The wrong application of eating pattern in daily life may result in the incidence of gastritis. Most student who have negative response with personal preference in application of eating pattern more risk of gastritis happen. Therefore, the purpose of this research was to find out the relationship between the personal preference in applying the eating pattern and gastritis incidence happening in the students of Stikes Yarsis. The design of research was analytic-cross sectional. The population involved all students of Stikes Yarsis in the last semester, totally 423 students, in which 139 students were taken as the samples done by applying the probability sampling, with the stratified random sampling technique. The personal preference in applying the eating pattern was chosen as the independent variable, whereas the dependent variable was the incidence of gastritis. Furthermore, questionnaires were used to collect the data. The result of research showed that nearly all of the respondents (73.4%) had a positive response on the personal preference in applying the eating pattern, whereas most of them (66.9%) suffered from gastritis. The analysis of Chi-Square test showed that ρ = 0.019 < α = 0.05 so that H0 was rejected illustrating that there was a relationship between the personal preference in applying the eating pattern and the incidence of gastritis. In conclusion, the more negative response to personal preference, the more gastritis happen and the more positive response to personal preference can also gastritis happen. Therefore, the motivation and self awareness to prevent hot and acid food to apply the good eating pattern so that gastritis happen can be prevented.

Abstract

Dementia to elder is abnormality which can be prevented by consuming red apple. Therefore, this research was purposed to find out the influence of red apple consumption to elder dementia level at Wonokromo RT 05 RW 03. The research used quasi-experiment design, where the population involved 20 elders who got dementia symptom. All populations were taken as the sample using total sampling technique. 8 people were taken as experiment grup and 12 people as control group. The independent variable was red apple consumption whereas the dependent one was dementia level. Moreover, the data collected by using MMSE and analyzed using Fisher Exact Test with ?=0,05. The result of this research showed that there was difference of dementia level between before and after consuming red apple to experiment and control group. Furthermore, the Fisher Exact Test obtained the value of ?= 0,018 showing that H0 was rejected, means there was influence of red apple consumption to elder changes of dementia level at Wonokromo RT 05 RW 03.  The research concluded that red apple could change the levelt of dementia. Hence, diagnosed as dementia should consume red apple regularly and health worker could give health education about the benefit of red apple to dementia.
