Abstract

Matematika memiliki objek yang bersifat abstrak. Siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam matematika karena sifat keabstrakannya. Tahap tingkat perkembangan berfikir siswa pada tingkat sekolah masih konkrit, oleh karena itu diperlukan suatu pendekatan yang dipandang baik dan tepat yang dapat mengatasi permasalahan atau dapat menjembataninya adalah dengan pendekatan matematika realistik. Pembelajaran matematika ini berorientasi pada pengalaman dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Pendekatan Matematika Realistik dalam pembelajaran memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk menemukan dan merekonstruksi konsep-konsep matematika, sehingga siswa mempunyai pemahaman tentang konsep-konsep matematika. Pembelajaran ini dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif untuk menjadikan pembelajaran matematika lebih menyenangkan yang dapat mempengaruhi komunikasi matematis siswa. Proses komunikasi matematis siswa yang baik dapat menjadi sarana untuk membentuk pembelajaran yang efektif dan komunikatif terutama untuk siswa SD yang dalam tingkat berfikir masih konkrit.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan suatu media pembelajaran berbasis Prezi yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model 4-D yang terdiri atas 4 tahap, yaitu: 1) pendefinisian, 2) perancangan, 3) pengembangan, dan 4) penyebaran. Media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini adalah suatu alat presentasi digital berbasis Prezi pada materi Geometri bagi mahasiswa kelas 4B jurusan Tadris Matematika IAIN Kerinci Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018. Media pembelajaran berbasis Prezi ini terlebih dahulu diperiksa validitasnya untuk kemudian diujicobakan dan diimplementasikan pada proses perkuliahan di dalam kelas. Validasi dilakukan oleh ahli pendidikan matematika, pendidikan dasar dan bahasa. Kepraktisan media pembelajaran diselidiki dengan cara mengamati pelaksanaan perkuliahan, pengisian angket praktikalitas oleh mahasiswa, serta wawancara kepada mahasiswa. Keefektifan media pembelajaran diselidiki dengan cara mengamati aktivitas dan hasil belajar mahasiswa. Seluruh data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa: 1) media pembelajaran berbasis Prezi sudah valid berdasarkan segi konstruk dan isinya; 2) media pembelajaran berbasis Prezi juga sudah dapat dikatakan praktis berdasarkan pelaksanaan perkuliahan; dan 3) media pembelajaran berbasis Prezi sudah efektif terhadap aktivitas dan hasil belajar mahasiswa. Berdasarkan hasil uji coba dan implementasi media serta hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis Prezi sudah valid, praktis dan efektif.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) to increase mathematical problem solving ability of students through the application of problem-based learning, and (2) to increase active activity levels of students with problem-based learning. This type of research is a class action. Subjects in this study are students of cass VII-3 SMP Negeri 7 Padangsidimpuan. The instrument uses a form of problem-solving ability test descriptions and observation. The results show that in the first cycle has not show optimal results therefore it needs the second cycle. In the  second cycle shows an increase in the problems solving ability of students. In the first cycle is 50% rising to 89% in the second cycle. The levers of active student’s activity based on the observation shows at each meeting including both categories. Based on these result, the researcher suggests that the problem-based learning can be an altervative for teachers of mathematics to be developed as one of the effective learning to improve students’ mathematics problem solving ability and increasing the activity of active students.

Abstract

Problem posing in learning mathematics gives more chances for student to achieve, change, and create new mathematics idea through active cooperation in certain discussions. Learning mathematics through problem posing, the students are seen to be active and creative in case of their competences in developing problems/questions of mathematics, understanding as well as exploring information from the problems/questions and posing mathematics problem with is solution. Then, through this problem posing approach, students’ activity and interaction in sharing idea with other students and their teacher could be improved; so that learning activity gives more meaning and understanding for students toward mathematic learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe errors made by students in solving mathematical problems in the pythagorean theorem material. This research is a descriptive study with the object of research is class VIII-3 of Junior High School (Padangsidimpuan Middle School-7) T.A 2018/2019 which amounted to 21 students with heterogeneous levels of ability. The instrument collects data using essay tests. Data analysis is done by reducing data in the form of paragraphs and images, then drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the common mistakes made by students in this study were more on type-1 errors, namely understanding the concept of errors, followed by type-3 errors, namely units of measurement of writing errors, then followed by type-2. error which is a calculation error, and type-4 error is a mathematical procedure error.

Abstract

Mathematics understanding and communication are two essensial competencies that should be mastered by the learners. Mathematics understanding connects pattern and its relationship, that is to connect mathematics’ concept with the laerners’ bachground knowledge. Then, mathematics communication has an important role in conveying mathematics. This is a major challenge in learning mathematics that assume to emphasize in transferring knowledge, where teachers are more dominant than learners in finding, using and elaborating knowledge. Nowdays, there are some strategies that can be used as an alternative learning to be more fun and can injluence mathematics understanding and communication of learners, such realistic mathematics education. Realistics mathematics education is a learning that shows not only the connection with the real world but also the situation that could be imagined by the learners.

Abstract

Mathematical communication is one aspect that must be owned and developed in learning mathematics, it is stated in Permen 22 of 2006 concerning Graduation Competency Standards in the field of mathematics. A well-designed mathematics learning process can develop students' mathematical communication skills. The communication process for students to be able to develop ideas and build mathematical knowledge through assignments or questions designed by the teacher. Problems with mathematical communication skills that can be used must be in accordance with mathematical communication indicators. Questions that are in accordance with indicators are questions that can measure students' mathematical abilities. Thus, a good communication process can be a means to teach mathematics. Effective and communicative learning.

Abstract

This study discusses the problems faced by students in solving real number problems and analyzing the causes. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive analysis. Data collection methods used in this study are documentation of UTS results and interviews. The results of this study indicate that the difficulties experienced by students in completing real number problems: (1) difficulties in understanding the concept and applying it, (2) difficulty manipulating the numbers and symbols. Errors made by students to solve real number problems are an explanation of the difficulties experienced by students. The factors that cause students to overcome the problems of the basic concept of real numbers, students are still having difficulty in understanding the use of the concept of real numbers, are less careful in solving problems so they are wrong in translating symbols, student learning patterns that are not good are not supported by learning resources adequate material and difficult to repair.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the significant difference between the learning outcomes of mathematics using the model Make a Match learning and Pair Checks learning model on the integer material in class VII MTs IB Silaping. This type of research is a comparative study with experimental methods. The population in this study were students of class VII MTs IB Silaping totaling 92 students. The sample of this research is class VII2 b as the experimental class 1 and class VII1 a as the experimental class 2 with the same number of 16 students. The samples were determined by non-probability sampling. The data collection instrument is a test. The data analysis technique used is the normality test, homogeneity test, and to test the hypothesis with the t-test. The results of this study indicate that: (1) mathematics learning outcomes using the Make a Match learning model with an average value of 86,88; (2) mathematics learning outcomes using the Pair Checks learning model with an average value of 80,56. So it can be concluded that (3) there is a significant difference between the learning outcomes of mathematics using the Make a Match learning model and the Pair Checks learning model on the integer material in class VII MTs IB Silaping. This is in accordance with the calculation of the t-test which is obtained at the significant level is 0,05 and dk = 30 with tcount = 2,433 and ttable = 2,042 this indicates that tcount > ttable.

Abstract

Pentingnya pemahaman konsep matematika dilihat dari tujuan dalam pembelajaran matematika yang harus dicapai siswa sesuai dengan kurikulum 2013. Matematika merupakan mata pelajaran yang sulit dipahami siswa bagi sebagian siswa. Pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education merupakan pembelajaran yang membawa siswa kedalam pengalaman langsung melalui pembelajaran nyata dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Dengan pembelajaran pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education dapat mempengaruhi pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep-konsep matematika dengan lebih baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education terhadap pemahaman konsep matematika siswa SMP Negeri 7 Padangsidimpuan. Jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh kelas VIII SMP Negeri 7 Padangsidimpuan. Sampel penelitian diambil dengan secara acak sebanyak 2 kelas. Instrumen penelitian dengan menggunakan tes, dengan tes yang digunakan tes yang valid dan reliabel. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penerapan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education terhadap pemahaman konsep matematika siswa SMP Negeri 7 Padangsidimpuan. Pembelajaran pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education terhadap pemahaman konsep matematika lebih baik daripada pembelajaran konvensional.
