Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan isolat protein terhadap kekuatan sifat mekanik kuat tarik dan elongasi pada plastik biodegradable dari campuran pati jagung dan sorbitol. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan metode ekstraksi isolat protein dari limbah cair hasil pengolahan industri tahu yang dilanjutkan dengan pembuatan plastik biodegradable. Konsentrasi isolat protein yang digunakan untuk masing masing variasi dengan perbandingan terhadap matriks pati jagung dengan isolat protein yaitu 0%, 3%, 5%, 7% dan 9%.  Pada penelitian ini digunakan jenis plastisizer sorbitol yang merupakan senyawa pengganti gula yang bersifat non toksin. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian dianalisa untuk melihat sifat mekanik kekuatan tarik dan elongasi terbaik terhadap plastik biodegradable. Dari pengujian sifat mekanik untuk kuat tarik dan elongasi, persentase optimum penambahan isolat protein sebesar 5% dengan nilai 509,946 MPa dan elongasi sebesar 38,4%. Secara umum sifat mekanik dari plastik biodegradable yang optimum berada pada preparasi 5 % isolat protein.

Abstract

Limbah pertanian merupakan hasil samping dari aktivitas pertanian yang saat ini masih dibuang langsung kelingkungan tanpa diproses atau diolah terlebih dahulu sehingga dampaknya terjadi penurunan kualitas lingkungan. Salah satu limbah pertanian yang banyak di temukan di Provinsi Aceh, khususnya kota Banda Aceh dan Aceh Besar adalah limbah tulang kambing. Limbah tulang kambing yang dihasilkan mencapai ±373 ton/tahun yang bersumber dari  rumah pemotongan hewan, limbah rumah makan olahan daging kambing dan puncaknya pada saat tradisi meugang menyambut bulan puasa dan lebaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengolah limbah tulang kambing menjadi produk arang aktif yang ramah lingkungan dengan menggunakan variasi proses aktivasi. Metode penelitian terdiri dari tiga tahapan proses, pertama proses preparasi arang dengan mengkarbonisasikan limbah tulang pada suhu 700 oC, kedua proses aktivasi arang yang dilakukan secara kimia dan fisika dan ketiga adalah analisa karakteristik arang aktif yang di bandingkan dengan Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa arang yang teraktivasi secara fisika mempunyai kualitas arang aktif lebih baik dari pada arang yang diaktivasi secara kimia. Kualitas arang aktif yang teraktivasi fisika yang terbaik adalah pada suhu aktivasi     700 oC dan kualitas arang aktif yang teraktivasi kimia yang terbaik adalah pada konsentrasi larutan zink klorida 1 N. Kualitas arang aktif berbahan baku limbah tulang kambing mempunyai nilai kadar air sebesar 0,842 – 1,566 %, nilai kadar abu sebesar 1,365 – 6,757 %, nilai kadar zat mudah terbang sebesar 2,595 – 9,788 %, nilai kadar karbon terikat sebesar 91,866 – 94,456 %, daya serap iodium sebesar 825 – 968 mg/g. Kualitas arang aktif berbahan baku limbah tulang kambing secara keseluruhan memenuhi SNI tentang arang aktif teknis dengan No. 06-3730-1995.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to know the physical characteristics (water vapor transmission  rate, water absorption), mechanical characteristics of edible film (maturation, tensile strength), morphology(functional group) and the edible film thermal properties made of corn starch and keratin. In this research, keratin extraction method of chicken feather waste is continued to know the influence of keratin preparation as filler material. Keratin concentration was used for each variation with comparison to corn starch matrix with keratin ie 0%, 3%, 5%, 7% and 9%. In the research used type sorbitol plasticizer which is a sugar substitutecompound that is non toxin. The data obtained from the results of the study in the analysis to see the properties of feeding for food packaging with a low rate of water vapor transmission with a value of 0.00334 g / cm2 / day. From the testing of mechanical properties for tensile strength and elongation, the optimum percentage of keratin addition was 9% whose values were 25.02 MPa and 3.64% respectively. Thermal analysis and functional groups with the addition of keratin increase the melting temperature and decomposition temperature by mixing physically. From all tests, the best percentage of keratin addition was found on the 9% keratin composition.

Abstract

Livestock waste, such as bone, has always been ineffectively exploited. Bones contain organic compounds that can be further processed into usable products such as charcoal and activated charcoal. This research, therefore, aims to identify the optimum temperature conditions suitable for the manufacturing process of activated charcoal from goat bone waste using thermal activation. The study uses a two-stage process which is carbonization and thermal activation. Activation temperatures used in the process were at a temperature of 500 °C, 600 °C and 700 °C for three hours. The results of the characteristics of activated charcoal thermally produced in  this research met the Indonesian National Standard 06-3730-1995 about technical activated charcoal, and the  optimum conditions were at an activation temperature of 500 °C. These characteristics include the values of the water content at 1.210%, ash content at 2.034%, absorption of iodine 926 mg/g, volatile matter of 0.434% and fixed carbon of 96.616%.

Abstract

The ability to use practical tools for students is a must in the basic Physics practical courses. In fact often happens is not adequate for laboratory tersediannya the implementation of practical, so that the process of teaching being constrained. To like the other problems like this needed a media device such as a software-based virtual lab simulations that can be used in the teaching of basic physics. This research aims to analyze the exact effort that can be done to overcome the lack of sedian laboratory equipment. This type of research is research use approach to the study of literature. The expected results of this literature is the emergence of an understanding of basic physics lab course in conducting with virtual laboratory as a means to address the issue of sedian in the real Labs. This virtual lab so that it can be the right solution for students and teachers in carrying out practical work. Abstrak Kemampuan menggunakan alat-alat praktikum bagi siswa merupakan suatu keharusan dalam mata pelajaran Fisika Dasar. Pada kenyataannya yang sering terjadi adalah tidak tersediannya laboratorium yang memadai untuk pelaksanaan praktikum, sehingga proses praktikum menjadi terkendala. Untuk mensiasati permasalahan seperti ini dibutuhkan sebuah media seperti perangkat software laboratorium virtual berbasis simulasi yang bisa digunakan dalam praktikum fisika dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis upaya yang tepat yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi ketidak-sedian peralatan laboratorium. Jenis penelitian yang gunakan adalah penelitian dengan pendekatan studi literatur. Hasil yang diharapkan dari literatur ini adalah munculnya pemahaman dalam melaksanakan praktikum fisika dasar dengan laboratorium virtual sebagai sarana untuk mengatasi persoalan ketidak-sedian laboratorium secara nyata. Sehingga laboratorium virtual ini dapat menjadi solusi yang tepat bagi siswa dan guru dalam melaksanakan praktikum. Kata kunci: Praktikum, Ilmu Sains, Laboratorium Virtual, Pemahaman Konsep

Abstract

Meunasah Kulam Village is located in North Aceh Regency of Aceh Province with the main income of the people sourced from the agricultural sector, namely farming and raising. In the mass Covid-19 pandemic, people are required to carry out activities at home in order to break the chain of spread of Covid-19 as a result of the decrease in income in the community. The solution offered through community service activities is to carry out mentoring of home business activities so as to increase family production. Home business produced crispy beans products. The activity was held in Geucik house which was attended by housewives. The activity stage consists of the preparation stage, the product processing stage and the product marketing stage. The conclusion of this community service activity is that mothers become more skilled in processing foodstuffs, especially green beans vegetables into more interesting products and preferably the community especially children so as to improve the family economy, especially during the covid-19 pandemic

Abstract

This research aims to describe the correlation of mathematics skills as the basic skills that students need in order to solve physics problems that seem complicated and difficult to understand. Physics describes the order of nature in mathematical equations thus the ultimate goal of physics in finding other sequences and making use of it in real life can be achieved more easily. This research was conducted using literature study approach. The data were collected by means of documentation with secondary data obtained from several references. The data were then analyzed using content analysis technique. A relevant summary of the correlation between proper mathematical understanding and complex physics problem-solving ability was attained from this research. These results were confirmed by the data gained from a range of references in the form of books, both online and offline journals as well as prior conferences that have been read, reviewed and analyzed by focusing on the mastery of mathematics skills in developing students' critical thinking to work out physics problems.

Abstract

Face-to-face restrictions on elementary school students during the pandemic force teachers to have creative and innovative ideas in conducting distance learning. Unlike learning for junior or senior high school students who have better understanding of lessons using simpler methods, elementary school students need more detailed methods of learning. Audacity is an application with script writing and voice recording techniques that are able to help elementary school students develop better understanding in distance lessons. Training on the application of interesting and innovative learning media using the Audacity application at SD Negeri 44 Banda Aceh aims to assist teachers at SD Negeri 44 Banda Aceh in using interesting and innovative software-based learning media with script writing and voice recording techniques, so that they can produce effective teaching materials that can be easily understood by students.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has affected almost every aspect of life in the world, including education. The learning process, which was originally done face-to-face at school is diverted to the home using the online learning model. The inequality of the teacher's ability to utilize technology affects the achievement of this online learning goal. The ability of teachers to conduct online learning depends on knowledge and experience in online teaching before the Covid-19 pandemic. Objective: This study was conducted to expose information related to teachers’ experience toward online learning before the Covid-19 pandemic. Method: The study was carried out by implementing a descriptive quantitative method. The instrument used in this study was questionnaires distributed online using the Google Form application. The data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data interpretation, and conclusion drawing. Finding: The results showed that 75% of teachers stated that they already had basic knowledge about online learning before the Covid-19 pandemic. 45.80% of teachers said they obtained information about online learning through school-facilitated training while 16.70% gathered information about online learning before the Covid-19 pandemic from government-facilitated training, and 37.50% obtained information about online learning from independent learning. A total of 54.10% of teachers stated had conducted online learning before the Covid-19 pandemic. However, only 20.80% of them stated that online learning is very effective to be implemented. Conclusion: The readiness of teachers to implement online teaching-learning depends on their knowledge and experience related to online learning. Inadequate teaching training causes the lack of understanding of teachers towards the benefits of supported information technology-based learning media.
