The most common symptoms of OA patients is joint pain that worsen in activity and relieved with rest. Hyaluronic acid (HA) injection is one of the treatment that used to relieved joint pain in OA patients. Aim : The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of HA injection to pain intensity on knee OA degree 2 and 3 patients in PHC Hospital Surabaya. Methods : Analytic research study design with retrospective cross-sectional study with purposive sampling technique. The respondents in this study were patients with knee OA degree 2 and 3 that had been failed with conservative therapeutics within 3 until 6 months and had been injected with HA in PHC Hospital in Surabaya. The number of respondents that have been collected that fulfill the inclusion and exclusion criteria were 46 respondents. Results : based on data analysis with Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test there was an effect of HA injection in pain reduction on knee OA degree 2 and 3 patients (p = 0,00001). Conclusion : There is an effect of HA injection in pain reduction on knee OA degree 2 and 3 patients.

Abstract

Introduction: A lot of employees working in front of a computer complaining about somesymptoms. Eye and vision problems connected to the prolonged use of a computer are calledComputer Vision Syndrome (CVS) or Digital Eye Strain. One of the symptoms of CVS isneck pain. In comparison, Range of Motion (ROM) is used to determine the ability of jointmovements. Aside from that, it can also be used to maintain flexibility and joint mobility.Purpose: To explain the association between Computer Vision Syndrome and the reductionin neck range of Motion in Employees.Method: The type of this research is analytic observational, and the design of this research isCross-Sectional Study. This research was conducted from Tuesday, 16th July 2019, untilWednesday, 17th July 2019, using CVS-Q and goniometer dy.Results: We collected 156 respondents that meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Weobtain p=0,02, p <0,05 meaning there is an association between Computer Vision Syndromeand the neck range’s Motion. Conclusion: To conclude, there is an association between Computer Vision Syndrome andthe neck range’s Motion.

Abstract

Introduction: The number of older people in Indonesia continues to rise. Aging process will cause changes in organ systems, one of which is changes in the musculoskeletal system. One of the significant weakening of function in the elderly is the degrading strength of the handheld muscles, which resulted in a decrease of functional abilities. One method which can be used to increase hand muscle grip strength is by doing rubber ball exercise. Aim: To analyze the difference of hand muscle grip strength on pre- and post- performing rubber ball exercises in elderlies at St. Joseph Nursing Home in Surabaya. Method: This study is a pre-experimental analytic research with one group pretest – posttest design approach. The sampling technique used consecutive sampling, with a total sample of 48 elderlies. The interventions for rubber ball exercises were carried out three times a week for one month. Instruments used for this study were the MMSE and MNA-SF questionnaires. The hand muscle grip strength was measured using the Handgrip Dynamometer. data analysis was done using the SPSS program and the Chi-Square test. Results: The mean total value of the muscle grip strength pre-exercises was 10,8 ± 3,9 kg. The mean total value of the hand muscle grip strength post exercises was 11,97 ± 4,08 kg. The data analysis results show that there was a significant difference between pre- and postperforming rubber ball exercises on the elderly at St. Joseph nursing home in Surabaya. (p=0,025). Conclusion: There is a significant contrast between pre and post-performing rubber ball exercises on the elderly at St. Joseph nursing home in Surabaya.
