Abstract

This research study aimed to develop English speaking materials to support the learning process in Conversation class of the tenth-graders at Madrasah Aliyah (Islamic senior high school) Al Ma’had An Nur, Bantul. This research was a research and development study. The development was carried out through several steps, namely the needs analysis, a course grid design, product development, product validation, product revisions, try-outs, and final product development. The research had two results. First, it produced a set of speaking materials in the form of printed books. Second, the findings showed that the materials were appropriate to be applied in the Conversation class of the tenth-graders at Madrasah Aliyah Al Ma’had An Nur, Bantul considering the result of the materials evaluation by experts and students’ try-outs. They scored 3.59 and 3.32 for the mean score of the scale 1 to 4 and were categorized as “Very Good”.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengungkapkan tiga pembahasan, yakni bagaimana implementasi ekstrakurikuler English Club di MIN 2 Sleman, bagaimana hasil yang dicapai dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler tersebut dilihat dalam konteks kecerdasan linguistiknya, dan apa saja faktor pendukung dan penghambat selama kegiatan ekstrakurikuler ini berjalan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan Teknik Analisis Data merujuk pada Miles dan Hubberman, yakni data reduction (reduksi data), data display (penyajian data), dan conclusion drawing/ Verification (menarik kesimpulan). Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah implementasi ekstrakurikuler ini meliputi dua tahapan, yakni tahapan persiapan dan tahapan proses. Sedangkan hasil perkembangan kecerdasan linguistik siswa melalui kegiatan ekstrakurikuler English Club ini mencakup keterampilan mendengar, keterampilan berbicara, keterampilan menulis, dan keterampilan membaca. Adapun faktor pendukungnya adalah peran kepala madrasah yang kuat, kualitas guru yang profesional, minat dan kecerdasan siswa yang baik, dan alat atau media yang mudah didapat. Sedangkan faktor penghambatnya antara lain kegiatan ini bukan materi wajib, kurangnya minat bimbingan di rumah, dan media pembelajaran yang belum diperbarui.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out how the implementation of authentic assessment in online learning for fiqh subjects in class XI IIK 2 MA Al Ma'had An-Nur Bantul. This research was qualitative research with data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. While the data analysis method used the theory of Miles and Huberman. Not only that, the checking technique of the data validity used several criteria. The research results revealed that (1) includes competency assessment during the online learning process, the teacher saw student activity when participating in learning through Google Meet. (2) Knowledge Competence using written assessment instrument techniques and assignments or projects. (3) The psychomotor competence of students to practice creative and innovative skills. The assessment results could be seen from two things, namely, students were able to understand the material provided, and students were trained in honest behavior. The supporting factors were teachers, school facilities, and quota assistance. While the inhibiting factors were that the assessment was not very effective during the pandemic, learning was not conducive, and the lack of communication between teachers and students so that the administrators were overwhelmed in dealing with existing problems
