Abstract

The ergonomic problems found in the painting exhibition gallery indicated that: some paintings were displayed without considering the room size, so it would give effect that the paintings themselves seemed to be so small or on the other way around that they would be likely too big, this would affect the visitors’ comfort when they try to watch the exhibition. In order to solve the problems, a study on the ergonomic aspect needed to be conducted based on the comparison between the painting and the room size, so that the exhibition visitors would feel comfortable when viewing the paintings themselves. The study was conducted in the “X” gallery in Ubud, Gianyar. The subjects involved 20 different individuals. It utilized a treatment by subject design which was developed into two-period cross over design with the total members of the first group ( PO ) of 10 persons and the second group ( PO ) of about 10 persons. The independent variable of the study was the size variety of the painting including 50 cm X 60 cm and 150 cm x 200 cm. The dependent variable included the comfort while viewing the exhibition. On the first period in a room with 6 m x 4 m x 3 m wide, while the first group viewed the painting with 150 cm x 200 cm wide and the second group viewing a painting with 50 cm x 60 cm wide. Then a washing out was conducted for as long as two days. After that in a second period the second group viewed the painting with 50 cm x 60 cm wide, while the first viewed the painting with 150 cm x 200 cm wide. The comfort ability viewing the painting was measured by using a set of questionnaire with 5 Likert scales. The results would be tested by using Wilcoxon test. The results indicated that there was a significant difference (with p<0.05) between the score of general fatigue of the first group, such as 60.72 and the second group of 54.83. or a declining of 9.7%. While in terms of the comfort scores, there was a significant difference between the first group of 54.89 and the second group of 73.88 or improved up to 34.6%. It could be concluded that (1) there was a significant difference between the exhibition visitors’ comfort when viewing the painting of 50 cm x 60 cm and 150 cm x 200 cm wide in the exhibition room of 6 m x 4 m x 3 m wide, (2) the exhibition visitors’ comfort when viewing the painting of 50 cm x 60 cm wide was better than that when viewing the painting of 150 cm x 200 cm wide inside the exhibition room of 4 m x 6 m x 3 m.Key-words: painting size, exhibition room (hall), viewing comfort

Abstract

The current exhibition of paintings is oriented more on business, so the objective of a person doing an exhibiting is to sell their paintings. It’s not something that is taboo, because the painter is also human who needs money for living expenses and for the cost of creating new paintings. unfortunately the comfort of the exhibition room is sometime forgotten. Abstract

Sosial media merupakan media komunikasi dan informasi yang diakses melalui sambungan internet yang banyak digunakan oleh masyarakat setiap harinya. Banyak yang menggunakan sosial media untuk berinteraksi dengan orang-orang dalam jarak jauh sehingga tidak perlu bertemu secara langsung. Sosial media awalnya hadir sebagai media komunikasi dan informasi dan kini berkembang sebagai wadah untuk berkreasi dan berekspresi melalui karya seni dan desain yang diciptakan. Dengan berkembangnya sosial media di era digital ini tentunya mengikuti dengan perkembangan-perkembangan fitur yang ada dalam sosial media. Hal tersebut penting untuk diperhatikan oleh pelaku seni dan desain agar mampu memanfaatkan fitur-fitur sosial media dengan baik sehingga bisa mencuri perhatian publik dengan segala kreativitas yang ditampilkan. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa sosial media memegang peranan penting di era teknologi digital saat ini dengan banyaknya pemanfaatan sosial media sebagai sarana berkreasi dan mengekspresikan karya seni.Kata kunci : sosial media, seni rupa dan desain, kreasi, ekspresi

Abstract

This descriptive qualitative research is aimed at analyzing the calligraphy participating inKhattil Quran Competition in the 26th MTQ in Buleleng Regency. The works were visually analyzedusing questioning approach which adapted Poster/visual analysis worksheet (Serianz, 2005) and TheNARA Photo Analysis Sheet, which contained 7 simplified main questions, comprising question about:1) dominant color, 2) use of symbols, 3) words that are presented visually; 4) the condition of the symbols( when they are needed); 5) message which are either explicitly stated or implied; 6) composition,dan 7) font variation. Content analysis was used to examine the style and composition of the calligraphy.The pattern of the calligraphy was analyzed by answering 6 questions that refer to letters variation,style of writing, accuracy of the contents (which was citation from the Quran), the rules of language usethat are applicable for the work of calligraphy.The results of the analysis indicate that most of the decorative calligraphy did not meet the criteriafor a competition. Seven out of nine decorative calligraphy (each of which representing the ninedistricts in the region) did not show the basic requirement as a calligraphy work of art. There werea number of writing style which neither visually representative nor accurate. Mistakes are consideredserious since the materials for creating the calligraphy were provided by the committee including theguidelines. Another mistake is the layout of the content (how to locate the verse, the choice of the fontstyle, and the reading direction) which was considered as the second type mistake which was to do withexperience with visual art management. This problem was to be followed up by the researcher team asa prospective area for community service program in the future.Key words: khattil quran, MTQ, calligraphy, analysis, mistakes, layout

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the design of multimedia visual entitled Gungman Wied's character using Blender. The research approach uses a mixed method, namely qualitative and quantitative methods. Data collection provides a questionnaire to analyze visually in terms of visual communication design elements, namely: layout, lines, areas, spaces, textures, photos, images, animations, movies, letters, text, colors. Aspects of composition are: unity, balance, rhythm, contrast, focus, proportion. Questionnaires were distributed to 69 respondents. The measurement results of the elements of visual communication design are: layout 73.91%, lines 80.00%, fields 79.42%, space 79.42%, texture 80.0%, photos 79.71%, pictures 80, 58%, animation 78.84%, movie 77.97%, letters 80.58%, text 78.26%, color 80.29%. Measured from its composition, namely 78.26% unity, balance 80.87%, rhythm 76.81%, contrast 78.55%, focus 81.16%, and proportion of 80.29%. The results of the overall student questionnaire assessment were well qualified.Key words: design, interactive multimedia, visual communication design.ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perancangan visual multimedia berjudul karakter Gungman Wied menggunakan Blender. Pengumpulan data memberikan kuesioner untuk menganalisis visual dari segi unsur-unsur desain komunikasi visual, yaitu: layout (tata letak), garis, bidang, ruang, tekstur, foto, gambar, animasi, movie, huruf, teks, warna. Aspek komposisi yaitu: kesatuan, keseimbangan, irama, kontras, fokus, proporsi. Kuesioner disebarkan ke 69 responder. Hasil pengukuran dari unsur-unsur desain komunikasi visual yaitu: layout 73,91%, garis 80,00%, bidang 79,42%, ruang 79,42%, tekstur 80,0%, foto 79,71%, gambar 80,58%, animasi 78,84%, movie 77,97%, huruf 80,58%, teks 78,26%, warna 80,29%. Diukur dari komposisinya, yaitu kesatuan 78,26%, keseimbangan 80,87%, irama 76,81%, kontras 78,55%, fokus 81,16%, dan proporsi 80,29%. Hasil penilaian kuesioner mahasiswa secara keseluruhan berkualifikasi baik.Kata kunci: desain, multimedia interaktif, Desain Komunikasi Visual

Abstract

The aim of this studyis to identify the billboard of legislative candidates 2014 in the elections area the south Denpasar. Especially, it aims to know the weakness of the billboard design. To identify its weakness, selected nine pieces of billboard taken from nine different villages where the billboard have a problem in the design. Then, those four billboards that have the greatest problem in design are taken to be identified. Data were collected through the observation by taking the picture of the billboard of legislative candidates. Then, the data is analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The results showed that the weakness of the billboard candidates in general is on the designs. It shows that the designed does not follow the rules of the science of Visual Communication Design. Because of that, it is necessary to give the examples of better designs. So whatever the purpose of making the billboards can be in accordance whit what is expected.Keywords: Election Billboard,Visual Analysis, South Denpasar.
