Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of four doses of empty palm bunches compost (EPB) on growth and production of onion (Allium ascalonicum L.) and getting the best doses for the growth and yield of onion. This research has been conducted in the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru for 2 months starting in February 2016 to April 2016. The research was conducted experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and  5 replications. The treatments applied in this research was :  0, 5, 10, 15 and 20  tones empty palm bunches compost per ha. Parameters those observed were the plant height, harvesting, the number of tubers per clumps sample, fresh weight of tuber per clumps sample and dry weight of tuber per clumps sample. Data were analyzed statistically by anova and Duncan's test at 5% level. The results showed that implementation of empty palm bunches composts with a dose of 5 tones/ha gave the best results on the plant height, yield, the number of tubers per clumps sample, fresh weight of tuber per clumps sample.  Keyword : onion, Empty Palm Bunches compost, fertilization

Abstract

This research examines the presence of the Tamiang Malay ethnic group in Aceh, especially in the classification known as host ethnics, which is decreasing in existence amidst the rampant migration of other tribes, especially the Javanese who inhabit plantation areas in Aceh Tamiang. The purpose of this study is to provide a description of the construction of Tamiang Malay culture in the social and cultural dynamics of the Acehnese people. This study uses qualitative methods by collecting observational data, interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study show that the existence of the Tamiang Malay ethnicity is divided into two Malay community groups that differ in the use of accents in the pronunciation of the language. The Malay tribe who inhabit the upstream part of the Tamiang daily dialect uses the letter "o" and the downstream Tamiang tribe uses the letter "e". The Tamiang Malay ethnicity continues to experience degradation with the large number of immigrants, especially the Javanese ethnicity, resulting in statistical changes. Currently it is estimated that the remaining 40% of the Tamiang Malay Ethnicity, on average they inhabit the coast or the downstream part of Tamiang which are scattered in several sub-districtsPenelitian ini mengkaji tentang tentang keberadaan suku bangsa Melayu Tamiang di Aceh, terutama pada klasifikasi yang disebut sebagai etnis tempatan (host ethnics) yang semakin berkurang keberdaannya di tengah maraknya migrasi suku lain, terutama suku jawa yang mendiami areal perkebunan di Aceh Tamiang. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah memaparkan deskripsi tentang konstruksi budaya Melayu Tamiang dalam dinamika sosial dan culture masyarakat Aceh. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberadaan etnis Melayu Tamiang terpecah menjadi dua kelompok komunitas masyarakat melayu yang berbeda dalam penggunaan logat dalam pengucapan bahasa. Suku melayu yang mendiami bagian hulu Tamiang dialek sehari-hari menggunakan kalimat dengan huruf “o” dan suku Tamiang bagian hilir dialeknya menggunakan huruf “e”. Etnis Melayu Tamiang terus mengalami degradasi dengan banyaknya pendatang, terutama Etnis Jawa, sehingga terjadi perubahan statistik. Saat ini diperkirakan Etnis Melayu Tamiang tersisa 40 %, rata-rata mereka mendiami pesisir atau bagian hilir Tamiang yang tersebar di beberapa kecamatan.

Abstract

Abstract This article aims to analyze the functions of prepositional phrases found in Folkative’s Instagram account. This research was qualitative research. The data were taken from Folkative’s Instagram account by taking screenshots of the posts on July 2022. The data were analyzed based on the functions of prepositional phrases proposed by Quirk, et al theory (1985). The writer found three main functions of prepositional phrases in Folkative’s Instagram Account. However, for the adverbial function, there are only adjunct and conjunct that are found. Moreover, the prepositional phrases which functions as post modifier of a noun are highly used in Folkative’s Instagram account.

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this article is to analyze the types of sarcasm in TikTok @rianfarhadhi. Sarcasm is a type of figure of speech that uses scathing words to hurt other people's feelings and can be in the form of ridicule. This research was qualitative research. The data were taken from TikTok @rianfarhadhi account. The data were analyzed based on Camp’s types of sarcasm (2011). The writer found 27 data that were categorized into four types of sarcasm used in the TikTok account. The result of this study revealed that there were 7 proporsitional sarcasm, 5 lexical sarcasm, 6 like-prefix sarcasm, and 9 illocutionary sarcasm. In conclusion, the writer found the four types of sarcam proposed by Champ (2011) in @rianfarhadi account.

Abstract

Determining the sentences' syntactic structure was the research's main goal. Oneof the most important things to acquire in order to comprehend English isgrammatical structure. Understanding syntactic structure is crucial becausepoorly structured sentences might convey the wrong meaning. Syntacticstructure aids in word recognition, guarantees that sentences flow naturallytogether, and determines how words are arranged in lengthy phrases. The formsand functions of syntactic structure employed in James Ross' The Card are thetwo primary subjects of analysis in this study. This particular research isqualitative in nature. To be more precise, the writer gathered the informationthrough non-participatory observation. The majority of the findings on the formssupport Seely's (2012) postulated forms of syntactic structure. Subject, verb,object syntactic structure is the most common type. Then, the functions foundfully validate the syntactic structural functions described by Morley (2000).Nominal function is the primary function of syntactic structure.
