Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model to learning outcomes on the subject matter of machine work class X TKRO, SMKN 1 Kurun, Academic Year 2018/2019. This research method was true experimental design (posttest-only). The sampling technique was carried out by random sampling, namely class X TKRO with a total of 30 students being taught using the PBL learning model, while class X TSM with a total of 34 students being taught with the conventional model. The instrument used was a multiple choice test totaling 50 questions. Before the test instruments are used, validity and reliability are tested first. The results showed that there was an influence on student learning outcomes taught by using the PBL model with students being taught the conventional model.
