Abstract

Auditor personality is an interesting topic in the field of accounting considering the research on this topic is still rarely performed. The purpose of this study is to provide an empirical evidence with regard to the effect of the competency of auditors on audit quality, with a focus on the role of personality traits namely the big five personalities. Respondents of this study are auditors of public accounting firms in Malang. The analysis technique used to test the hypothesis is the modarated regressions analysis. The test results show that the competency of auditors has an effect on audit quality. In addition, only the personality traits of extraversion and neuroticism affects the relationship between competency of auditors and audit quality, but other personality traits such as openness to experience, conscientiousness, and agreeableness has no effect on such relationship. This indicates that the auditor's personality is an important factor to improve the quality of audits. Keywords: audit, personality, competency, audit quality

Abstract

Background: Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a disease that raises public health concerns due to its high morbidity and mortality rates. Anatomically, epicardial fat is located around the heart and coronary system, making it important in the development of coronary atherosclerosis. This study aimed to explore the relationship between epicardial fat volume (EFV) and the type of coronary artery plaque by using Cardiac Computed Tomoghraphy (CT)-Scan.Methods: This was a cross-sectional observational analytic study on patients diagnosed with CHD aged > 20 years who had undergone cardiac CT-Scan at the Department of Radiology, Dr. Hasan Sadikin General Hospital, Bandung, Indonesia between February and June 2019. Data collected from the CT-Scan were analyzed using the Chi-square test. Results: From 54 CHD patients, consisting of an equal number of male and female patients, with a majority of above 60 years old (31.5%), a correlation was identified between increased amount of EFV and mix and hard plaques in the right cirumflex artery (RCA) (p<0.026) and left circumflex (LCX) (p<0.038)On the left main(LM) and left anterior descending (LAD) arteries, no significant correlation was observed between EFV and the type of plaque (p>0.05).Conclusions: There is a significant relationship between the EFV value, EFV category, and the type of coronary artery plaque in CHD patients in RCA and LCX arteries. However, this correlation is not observed in LM and LAD arteries.

Abstract

AbstractBackground: Mesoblastic nephroma (NM) is the most common benign kidney tumor in infants, mostly occurring in the first six months of life; it is still very rare. These tumors are almost always diagnosed in children under two years of age. Radical nephrectomy as curative therapy.Case presentation: We report the case of a 22-day-old baby girl with complaints of enlarged abdomen which was known since the patient was born. The patient was born to G3P0A0 mother, 9 months of gestation, through normal delivery. Babies are born crying immediately. Birth weight 3100 grams. Abdominal examination, convex, normal bowel sounds, soft palpation, palpable solid mass on both flank, well defined, fixed, painless, size 15x15x10 cm. Renal ultrasound examination revealed bilateral renal masses ec DD/ Wilm's tumor, mesoblastic nephroma. Abdomen CT examination with contrast revealed a solid mass in the upper to lower abdomen bilaterally obliterating both kidneys, pressing the intestines to the middle abdomen, superiorly pressing the liver and spleen, anteriorly attached to the abdominal wall, posteriorly attached to the vertebral bodies ec DD/ mesoblastic nephroma, Wilm's tumor. Anatomical pathology examination revealed benign cystic lesions on both kidneys bilaterally. Conclusion: Radiological imaging has a major role in establishing the diagnosis of NM, so it will assist in the selection of fast and appropriate treatment.
