Abstract

This article aim to analyze Ibn Khaldun's thoughts on education and its relevance to modern world education. This research uses qualitative approach (Library Research) by analyzing the sources collected and summarized in the article. Result this research shows that education is not only a teaching and learning process that is limited by time and space, but education is a process where students are able to live, absorb and even capture natural events throughout the ages. Ibn Khaldun's thoughts are also very relevant to modern education when viewed from various aspects, namely educators, learning methods, curriculum and educational goals. Positive impact What is expected from the results of this study is the adoption of the concept of Modern Education with the Concept of Education according to Ibn Khaldun.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemikiran Ibnu Khaldun terhadap pendidikan kemudian relevansinya terhadap pendidikan dunia modern. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif (Library Research) kemudian menganalisis sumber-sumber yang dikumpulkan dan disimpulkan dalam makalah. Hasil dari makalah ini yaitu membahas tentang beberapa kategori diantaranya biografi singkat ibnu Khaldun Nama Lengkap Ibnu Khaldun ialah Abdul Al Rahman Ibnu Muhammad ibnu Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr Muhammad ibn al-Hasan Ibnu Khaldun. Ia dikenal dengan sapaan Ibnu Khaldun dan dijuluki sebagai bapak sosiolog. Beliau juga berpendapat bahwa pendidikan bukan hanya proses belajar mengajar yang dibatasi oleh ruang dan waktu, akan tetapi pendidikan merupakan proses dimana para peserta didik mampu menghayati, menyerap bahkan menangkap dari pristiwa-peristiwa alam sepanjang zaman. Maka dari itu, beliau menegaskan bahwa ilmu dan pendidikan merupakan gejala sosial yang menjadi ciri khas jenis insani. Pemikiran Ibnu Khaldun juga sangat relevan dengan pendidikan modern jika ditinjau dari berbagai aspek yaitu pendidik, metode pembelajaran, kurikulum dan tujuan pendidikan.  Kata Kunci: Pendidikan Ibnu Khaldun,Pendidikan Modern, Relevansi.  ABSTRACTThis study aims to analyze the thought of Ibn Khaldun on education and its relevance to the education of the modern world. The results of this paper are discussing several categories including a brief biography of Ibn Khaldun Ibn Khaldun's Full Name is Abdul Al Rahman Ibnu Muhammad ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr Muhammad ibn al-Hasan Ibnu Khaldun. He is known by the greeting of Ibn Khaldun and nicknamed as the father of sociologists. He also believes that education is not only a process of teaching and learning that is limited by space and time, but education is a process where students are able to live, absorb and even capture from natural events throughout the ages. Therefore, he asserted that science and education are social phenomena that characterize human types. Ibn Khaldun's thoughts are also very relevant to modern education when viewed from various aspects, namely educators, learning methods, curriculum and educational goals. Keywords: Ibn Khaldun Education, Modern Education, Relevance.
