Abstract

Background: Anxiety is a dominant response in children undergoing treatment prior to operation. When anxiety is not soon resolved it will affect physiological and psychological condition of children leading uncooperative behavior. Playing therapy intervention is given in efforts to minimize anxiety in children before operation. One of playing therapy interventions relevant with age of school children is video game playing therapy. Objective: The study aimed to identify effect of video game playing therapy to anxiety of preoperative school children at Melati surgery ward of Panembahan Senopati Hospital Bantul. Method: The study used pre experimental method and pre test and post test design of one group  without control. Samples consisted of 14 school children taken through purposive sampling. Data were collected before and after video game playing therapy and anxiety instrument Zung Self Rating Anxiety Scale (ZSRAS) in check list sheet and analyzed using Wilcoxon signed rank test with ? = 0.05. Result: The result of Wilcoxon signed rank test showed significance of p-value = 0.001 < ? = 0.05. This showed there was effect of video game playing therapy to level of anxiety in preoperative school children at Melati Surgey Ward of Panembahan Senopati Bantul. Conlusion : There was decrease of anxiety in preoperative school children after intervention of video game playing therapy. Keywords : Playing therapy, anxiety, school children

Abstract

Background: One of the recommended primary treatments for the icterus after the early initiation of breastfeeding (EIB). The EIB is when the infant starts to breastfeed immediatel after birth. The way the infant does the EIB is called the breast crawl, through which it crawls looking for breasts. Objective: The studi aims to investigate the relationship between early initiation of breastfeeding (EIB) and the icterus neonatorum at RSUD Wates, Yogyakarta. Method: This was an analytical survey method employing the cohort approach. The research population comprised mother-and- newborn-infant pairs at RSUD Wates, Yogyakarta. The sample was selected by means of the purposive sampling technique, with a sample size of 65 respondents. The research instrument was  a  standardized  observation  sheet  from  the  Ministry  of  Health.  The  analysis technique to test the hypothesis was the Chi-Square at a significance level of 95% and ? = 0.05. Results: The results of the analysis show that there is a relationship between the early initiation of breastfeeding and the icterus neonatorum at RSUD Wates, Yogyakarta with p = 0.000 and a contingency coefficient value of 0.460 or in a range of 0.40-0.599. Based on the data analysis, of 65 respondents, 38 infants (58,5%) not with the early initiation of breastfeeding, most of the respondents, namely 32 (41,5%), do not suffer from the icterus. Conclusion: There is a relationship between the early initiation of breastfeeding and the icterus neonatorum at RSUD Wates, Yogyakarta. Health officials should continuously provide information about the importance of and suggest the application of the early initiation of breastfeeding for newborn infants. Mothers should improve their awareness of doing the early initiation of breastfeeding and provide good breast milk. Keywords: Early initiation of breastfeeding, icterus neonatorum

Abstract

Background: The first stage of childbirth begins since the beginning occurrence contraction of the uterus which causes depletion and the opening of cervix gradually until it reaches in an opening complete (10 centimeters). The opening of the cervix in the childbirth first stage of latent phase reach the size of diameter 1?3 centimeters or under 4 centimeters require time almost or until 8 hours. The one that affects the process of which influence childbirth is psychological in the forms of anxiety. One of the non-pharmacological therapy that can be done to reduce anxiety is murottal therapy. Objective: Knowing the influence of murottal therapy to changes of anxiety score childbirth mother?s at first stage of latent phase in Nur Hidayah, Bantul. Methods: The type of this is a pre-experimental research, using the method Quasi-Experimental with One Group Pre-test and Post-test Without Control Group Design approach. The sample of this research is childbirth mothers at first stage of latent phase with involves 32 respondents. Retrieval sample is done with using a Purposive Sampling Technique. Measurement the anxiety of this study using a Z-SRAS (Zung Self- Rating Anxiety Scale) questionnaire. The statistical test uses Paired Sample T Test. The murottal therapy in this research using QS. Ar-Rahman (1-78 verse) for 25 minutes with the reciter Mishary Bin Rashid Alafasy through an MP3 and earphone. Result: The result of the statistical analysis of Paired Sample T Test has shows that the average of anxiety childbirth mother?s at first stage of latent phase before given a murottal therapy was 48,84 and average anxiety after being given a murottal therapy was 38,91. The value of the average (mean) changes score anxiety pretest and posttest the granting of murottal therapy of 9,938. Obtained index difference (t) of the count 5.389 with value significance (p) 0.001. Conclusion: There is the influence of murottal therapy to changes of anxiety score of childbirth mother?s at first stage of latent phase in Nur Hidayah Hospital, Bantul.
