Abstract

Elektroda Selektif Ion (ESI) Cd(II) tipe kawat terlapis dibuat menggunakan bahan aktif D2EHPA, campuran polivinilklorida (PVC) sebagai bahan pendukung, Dibutylphthalate (DBP) sebagai bahan pemlastis, dengan perbandingan D2EHPA : PVC : DBP = 16 : 28 : 56 dalam pelarut tetrahidrofuran (THF) (1:3 b/v). ESI Cd(II) tipe kawat terlapis berbasis D2EHPA menunjukkan harga faktor Nernst 27,26 mV/dekade konsentrasi Cd(II) pada rentang konsentrasi 1x10-5 – 1x10-1 M, limit deteksi 6,61x10-6 M atau setara dengan 0,317 ppm kadmium dengan waktu respon 40 detik dan usia pemakaian 42 hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh ion asing terhadap kinerja ESI Cd(II) tipe kawat terlapis berbasis D2EHPA serta diaplikasikan pada penentuan kadar kadmium dalam air sungai. Pengaruh ion asing dilakukan dengan menentukan koefisien selektivitas (Ki,j) menggunakan metode larutan tercampur. Larutan yang diukur mengandung ion utama Cd2+dengan rentang konsentrasi 1x10-5 – 1x10-1 M dan ion asing Hg2+dan Cu2+dengan konsentrasi tetap 1x10-3 M. Aplikasi pada penentuan kadar kadmium secara potensiometri menggunakan ESI Cd(II) tipe kawat terlapis berbasis D2EHPA hasilnya dibandingkan dengan metode standar Spektrofotometer Serapan Atom (SSA)  menggunakan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keberadaan ion asing Hg2+ dan Cu2+ tidak mempengaruhi kinerja ESI Cd(II). Urutan selektivitas ESI Cd(II) tipe kawat terlapis berbasis D2EHPA yaitu Cd2+ > Hg2+ > Cu2+, Berdasarkan hasil uji t pengukuran Cd(II) menggunakan metode potensiometri dengan ESI Cd(II)tipe kawat terlapis berbasis D2EHPA tidak berbeda secara bermakna dengan hasil pengukuran menggunakan metoda SSA sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai metoda alternatif untuk  pengukuran kadar kadmium dalam air sungai. Kata kunci: D2EHPA, elektroda selektif ion tipe kawat terlapis, membran, potensiometri, sensor potensiometri kadmium.

Abstract

ABStract Preparation  of coated wire cadmium(II) ion selective electrodes Cd(II) CWE) membranous Di (2-Ethyl Hexyl) Phosporic Acid (D2EHPA) has been done to obtain the optimum membrane composition ratio and optimum soaking time that produce cadmium(II) CWE have Nerntstian character. Preparation  of cadmium(II) CWE was conducted by three kinds of membrane composition comprising an active ingredient D2EHPA, matrix material consist of polyvinylchloride (PVC) polymer and plasticizer dibutylphtalate (DBP) dissolved in tetrahydrofuran (THF) solvent with a ratio of 1:3 by weight/volume. Potential measurements made​​ in the CdCl2test solution in the concentration range10-8-10-1M at pH 5. Optimization of time soaking in a solution of CdCl2 0.1M performed at optimum membrane composition in the time range of 0-80 minutes with 10 minutes intervals. The results showed that the optimum composition of the membrane is a membrane with the composition ratio  of D2EHPA : PVC : DBP = 16 : 28 : 56 produces Nernstian properties with prices Nernst factor of 27.26mV/decade of concentration needed optimum soaking time in a solution of CdCl2 0.1M for 20 minutes.   Key words: cadmium CWE, D2EHPA, membrane, potentiometry

Abstract

ABStract Determination of the basic characters of coated wire cadmium ion selective electrode (Cd CWE) which have performed include Nernst factor, linear concentration range, limit of detection, response time and life time. Potensial measurements were performed using optimum membrane composition comprising active ingredients of Di(2-Ethyl Hexyl)Phosporic Acid (D2EHPA) : Polyvinylchloride (PVC) : Di-butyl Pthalate (DBP) with % w/w ratio 16:28:56 dissolved in tetrahydrofuran (THF) at ratio of 1:3 (w / v) in the test solution of CdCl2 1x10-8 - 1x10-1 M at pH 5 and optimum soaking time of 20 minutes. The result showed that Cd(II) CWE is being made demonstrated Nernstian with Nernts factor of 27.7±0.267  mV / decade of cadmium(II) at linear concentration range from 1x10-5 to 1x10-1 M or 1.46 to 14600 ppm, detection limit of 6.607 x10-6 M or 0.317 ppm, response time of 40 seconds and life time of 42 days. Reproducibility production of 3 Cd(II) CWE is well shown by the price of a standard deviation (SD) and coefficient of variation (CV) were respectively 0.264 and 0.953%.   Key words: characterization, D2EHPA, ESI cadmium, membrane coated wire
