Abstract

The issues surrounding Migration and the Problems of Muslim Minorities in the Modern World have become a hot topic of discussion and are constantly changing. This issue is fascinating, not only by Muslims but also by non-Muslims. The coverage of foreign (Western) media that always corners Islam (not individuals in Islam) and global terror events is very effective in changing a country’s policy to fight Islam. However, this does not mean that they (the West) are discriminatory actions against Muslims who live there. This study aims to review migration events and how the conditions of Muslim immigrants in Bali and several essential countries in Europe and Asia. This article is library research and empirical facts obtained from various current and reliable news sources. This event examines the extent of the fate of Muslim immigrants in multiple countries with different characters and critically examines how the policies of these countries impact Muslim minorities. In addition, a comparative study was also conducted on the condition of Muslim immigrants who became minorities in several countries with different backgrounds and characters. The results of this research are: First, Western countries highly uphold human rights. Some of the friction that occurs with the Muslim minority is a precautionary measure, not discrimination as is often presented to them. Second, the conflict between the Muslim minority and the local population is motivated by two factors (a) their ignorance of the real Islam and think that terrorist Islam is the same as King Salman’s in Saudi Arabia or Imām Khumaeni in Iran, and (b) improve security to protect the country and all its people from acts of terrorism. Third, discriminatory treatment occurs in the East World, China, Myanmar, Thailand, which are real examples that until now have not received a solution, even the United Nations has stated that the Rohingya are the most oppressed minority on earth.

Abstract

If the authenticity of a Hadith is uncertain and contradicts intellect, it can be deemed weak. However, if a Hadith is deemed authentic by Hadith scholars, two distinct theories emerge among Muslim scholars. The first theory argues that a correct Hadith never opposes the intellect. According to this perspective, a sound and clear intellect will never contradict an authentic Hadith. In contrast, the second theory posits that a prophetic Hadith should be considered weak if it conflicts with intellect. The study employs analytical and library research methods, drawing on a range of scholarly works including books, academic articles, and writings by Muslim scholars. The findings of this paper indicate that a Hadith, narrated through a strong chain of narrators tracing back to the Prophet, cannot inherently contradict the intellect. However, if a Hadith contradicts sound intellect, it can serve as a valid reason to question its authenticity and consider it weak. Through a comprehensive analysis of the scholarly discourse, this study provides a deeper understanding of the complex relationship between Hadith and intellect and how Islam values the intellect. It underscores the importance of rigorous authentication processes, emphasizing the need to consider the reliability of the Hadith chain and the principles of intellectual reasoning when assessing the strength or weakness of a prophetic Hadith.

Abstract

The progress of science in the field of medicine has brought immense advantages to human existence. Nonetheless, these advancements have both positive and negative consequences for humanity. They also give rise to deliberation and disagreement, particularly concerning Islamic jurisprudence, as not all medical technological breakthroughs can be embraced without reservation in society. This study is a descriptive, analytic, and comparative literature review. The ushuliy approach is employed to examine the methodology utilized by the two organizations in determining their stance on human corneal transplants. The primary source material used in this research is the fatwa issued by Majelis Ulama Indonesia in 2009 regarding Corneal Transplants. The data for this research was collected through a documentation method, which involves gathering information from various articles and books. The collected data was then analyzed using content analysis, which involves a descriptive and scientific examination of the key messages. The findings of this study reveal that Majelis Ulama Indonesia holds the view that corneal transplants can be performed on individuals in need, with the intention of Tabarru' (acts of charity), if there are no alternative medical options available, based on the principle of Maslahah (benefit or public interest).
