Abstract

Keberadaan masyarakat di daerahhulu Sungai Batangharidiperkirakan sudah berada jauhsebelum masuknya kedatanganAgama-agama Besar sepertiBudha, Hindu dan Islam.Masyarakat hulu SungaiBatanghari mengenal daerahdaerahyang tidak boleh dibuka.Mereka mengenal dengan istilahTeluk sakti. Rantau betuah,Gunung Bedewo. Kemampuanmenjaga hutan oleh masyarakat didaerah hulu Sungai Batanghariberbanding terbalik dengankawasan hutan dikelolaperusahaan atau negara.Kata Kunci : Seloko, Hindu, Kearifan Lokal
