Employing purposive sampling technique, the sample consisted of 200 respondents. The data were analyzed with the assistance of Structural Equation Model - Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The results demonstrated that perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness positively and significantly affected the respondents’ attitudes. Moreover, attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control significantly affected the intention of using Fintech to perform zakat payment. The results further revealed that there was no direct influence between perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness on the respondents’ intention to use Fintech. However, it had an indirect effect by the mediation of attitude variable. As a theoretical implication, this study contributes to the literature enhancement in the discourse of TAM and TPB models in zakat context. Practically, it assists zakat management institutions recognize the Muslim millennial community and develop digital zakat payment platforms.

Abstract

In the development of leadership studies, various leadership styles have been born. Among the various models, situational leadership is the ideal leadership style because it can adapt the leadership approach with the reality of the followers' social context and circumstances. This study examines the empirical reality practices of situational leadership in Islam by analyzing the Prophet Muhammad's leadership model. This study uses a library research method with a content analysis approach. This study's results indicate that the Prophet Muhammad used a situational leadership style in leading the ummah. This is evidenced by the Prophet's leadership characteristics between Mecca and Medina's periods, which were adapted to the social realities and conditions of his followers. The differences in leadership characteristics can be assessed through the different characteristics of the verses and hadiths used by the Prophet as a medium in leading. Besides, evidence can also be obtained through the principle of graduality in implementing Islamic teachings. The Prophet's leadership in spreading Islamic teachings is implemented gradually following the reality of the social context and the abilities of his followers.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the behavioral intention of the Muslim crowd funders to use the Zakat-based crowdfunding platform model by adopting the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) Model. The online platform, as an intermediary between Muslim crowd funders and MSMEs, provides financing services for MSMEs to fight any situation/pandemic like COVID-19 nowadays. This study used the primary data collected by using the online survey questionnaires, and then the analysis is conducted using partial least squares (PLS) regression. The empirical study shows that all the variables except for facilitating conditions have a significant positive effect on Muslim crowd funders' intention to use the Zakat-based crowdfunding platform model. The present study will help the government and policymakers to plan appropriate intervention strategies to minimize the adverse impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on MSMEs in Indonesia. Furthermore, the study will contribute to the existing literature, especially on the factors influencing the adoption of the Zakat-based crowdfunding platform model.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to explore the elements that affect the liquidity of Islamic banking in Indonesia. From 2015 to 2020, Bank Indonesia published consecutive monthly statistics that can be used in this study. Internal factors, such as the capital adequacy ratio (CAR) and return on assets (ROA), and external factors, such as inflation and the SBI interest rate, are the variables used in this study. Design/methodology/approach - This study used the vector error correction model (VECM) as the research methodology. Findings - The results state that CAR and inflation variables have a positive and significant effect on FDR in the short term, but other variables are not significant. The financing-to-deposit ratio is negatively affected by ROA and BI interest rate variables in the long term, while in the short term it is positively affected by CAR and inflation (FDR) variables. Research limitations/ implications - In order to determine the liquidity policy of Islamic banking in the future, the authorities in Indonesia can benefit significantly from this research. Originality and value - This research can be used as a comparative reference for Islamic banking to maintain its liquidity. There are still not many studies that examine research on Islamic banking liquidity in Indonesia with these variables, so this journal can be a reference for further research. However, it is limited to 2015 to 2020 and only uses Islamic banking as the object of research. Keywo

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the terms "perfect" and "imperfect" competition in the market structure from an Islamic economic perspective. This study employed a qualitative approach to library research as its methodology. The results of the literature review indicate that the structure of perfect competition has a close relationship with the Islamic market concept. This proximity is reflected in the price, which is determined according to the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad by supply and demand. In addition, it is believed that perfect market competition is a market structure that can benefit both consumers and producers. Moreover, elements of imperfect competition that can oppress consumers, such as monopolies, oligopolies, and monopolistic practices, must be avoided. In Islamic economics, however, there is no concept of competition because it is synonymous with war, fighting, and dumping, so the term "competition" in the concept of market structure is inappropriate. For this reason, a new concept is required, namely the ta'awun market, in which the market in Islamic economics should be a place and a means of mutual assistance. Keywords: Market structure, Islamic perspective, perfect competition, imperfect competition

Abstract

Islamic stock market has experienced massive growth globally, including in Indonesia. This study aims to investigate the predicting factors of the Indonesian Islamic stock market that presents by the stock price of the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII). Adopted the Augmented Distributed Lag (ARDL) approach, this study uses monthly data from January 2007 to February 2020. This study uses five macroeconomic variables, namely consumer price index, exchange rate, crude oil price, world gold price, and Dow Jones Islamic Index (DJIM), to determine the JII's stock price. As a result, the JII's price volatility is significantly driven by the macroeconomic variables simultaneously. Importantly, this study reports that world gold price and DJIM return to become the most crucial factors influencing the ' 'JII's stock price volatility in short and long-run investment periods. This study has passed robustness checks by conducting three out of sample periods, namely 25%, 50%, and 75% out of sample. The 75% and 50% out of sample data revealed an identical result. Thus, this study suggests that the investor evaluates the crude oil price and world gold price fluctuation to predict the price of JII. This study offers practical implications for policymakers and practitioners and recommendations for future research.
