Abstract

This research aimed at finding out the correlation among learning strategies, motivation, and academic achievement of CASEA Makassar cadet: a review of ICAO standard level 4. The research employed quantitative research. The sample of this research were Air Traffic Controller and Flight Communication cadet of CASEA Makassar. The cadets were chosen by applying cluster random sampling technique. Data collection by using the questionnaire instrument. Data analysis was done using correlation analysis Product Moment of Pearson. On the significance level of 5%, The findings of the research reveal that: (1) the motivation of learning has positive correlation against learning strategies with a value r of 0.851. (2) The motivation of learning has a positive correlation with the cadet academic achievement that in the study of these is English proficiency with value r of 0.892. (3) Language learning Strategies have a positive correlation with academic achievement (English proficiency) with value r of 0.802. Motivation as a giver of stimulus while learning strategies were directing and maximize the push positive. Motivation rose up the confidence which is very important in the development of English language proficiency. Learning strategies can control production limitations of language.

Abstract

Makassar aviation polytechnic is a high school under the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation, with the main task of carrying out a professional Diploma program in aviation engineering and safety. One of the study programs in the aviation engineering department is Aircraft Maintenance Technology Study Program, which studies all parts of the aircraft as well as maintaining and repairing the aircraft so that it can fly safely to its destination. One obstacle that occurred in the Aircraft Maintenance Technology study program at POLTEKBANG is unavailability of fuel, the Avgas used on the Piston Enggine aircraft so the learning or peractic processes can’t realize were carried out due to the absence of fuel sold in the area. South Sulawesi therefore has to order in the East Java Province of Surabaya resulting in higher costs. The need of gasoline fuel as fossil energy is increasing and essential for daily life, occurs because of scarcity, can not be renewed and pollute to damage the ozone layer so it is important to do research to get optimal engine performance and low emissions. The reseach conducted for learning process or Peractum can accordance with the existing curriculum in the Makassar TPT POLTEKBANG with a pure fuel measurement test on the engine with a compression ratio of 11.3: 1 and varying the mixture of RON 92, RON 95 and Eco Recing, at 4,000 to 10,000 Rpm rotation. The result of the emission test according to the standard, can be explained that the best result is the use of fuel octane 92 with CO: 0.52% and HC: 125 ppm, capable of producing optimal power and torque compared to octane 95. The best mix variation is a ratio of 90: 10 producing maximum power up to 14.5 Hp and torque of 12.97 Nm

Abstract

This study aims to determine the perceptions of cadets towards e-learning learning using the Learnin Management System which has been facilitated by campuses and online learning, the advantages and disadvantages of e-learning, whether the teaching materials delivered by lecturers can be understood by cadets / cadets, and the perceptions of cadets. taruni towards online learning itself. This research is a quantitative descriptive study. The subjects of this study were all cadets of the Makassar Aviation Polytechnic cadets during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses data from the results of a questionnaire distributed to all cadets of 398 cadets using Google form, making it easier for researchers to collect and process data. From the results of data analysis, it was found that cadets of Makassar Aviation Polytechnic cadets showed enthusiasm in using e-learning and online, especially in theory courses. Taruna feel more enthusiastic and understand more about the material presented by the lecturer because e-learning is more varied and less boring and more interactive in learning. But it does not apply to practical courses, which require cadets to practice directly what the lecturer has conveyed in theory. So that cadets find it difficult to do direct practice.
