Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan umbi sarang semut (Myrmecodia Tuberosa Jack).Umbi sarang semut di ekstraksi menggunakan etanol 80% secara maserasi dan dilakukan pengujian karakteristik ekstrak meliputi nilai rendemen, kadar air, dan skrining awal fitokimia. Uji aktivitas antioksidan di lakukan secara in vitro dengan mengukur kadar Superoxide dismutase (SOD) dan Malonildialdehide (MDA) sel darah merah domba pada 6 kelompok perlakuan, yaitu: kelompok kontrol normal, kontrol negatif, kontrol positif (vitamin C), ekstrak dosis 0,6mg/ml,  1,2 mg/ml, dan  2,4 mg/ml. Hasil penelitian terhadap karakteristiik ekstrak menunjukan ekstrak memiliki nilai rendemen 19,63%, susut pengeringan 12,26%, dengan  kandungan kimia alkaloid, flavonoid, terpenoid, saponin. Hasil pemeriksaan kadar SOD dan MDA menunjukan semua dosis ekstrak dapat meningkatkan kadar SOD dan menurunkan kadar MDA yang sebanding dengan vitamin C (P<0,05). Kata kunci: Myrmecodia tuberosa, antioksidan, Superoxide dismutase, Malonildialdehide, Sel darah merah domba  ABSTRACTThe aim of this research was to determine the antioxidant activity of ant nest bulb (Myrmecodia Tuberosa Jack). Ant nest bulb was extracted using ethanol 80% by maceration and was tested for the characteristic of extract, especiallyyield of the extract, lost on drying, and preliminary phytochemical screening. Antioxidant activity was carried out in vitro by measuring the levels ofSuperoxide dismutase (SOD) andMalonildialdehide (MDA) sheep's red blood cells in 6 treatment groups: normal control group, positive control (vitamin C), extract dose 0.6 mg/ml, 1.2 mg/ml, and 2.4 mg/ml. The result for characteristic of the extract showed that yield of extraction was 19.63%, lost on drying was 12.26%, and the chemical content of the extract were alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, and saponins. The examination of SOD and MDA levels showed that all doses of the extract can increase SOD levels and lower MDA levels comparable to vitamin C (P < 0.05). Keyword : Myrmecodia tuberosa, antioxidant,Superoxide dismutase, Malonildialdehide, Sheep Red Blood Cells
