Abstract

Iron deficiency anemia is anemia that can be caused by iron deficiency in making haemoglobin levels, where iron is needed by the body, especially in making hem and globin. The preliminary survey obtained information on the presence of anemia patients <8 mg/dL totaling 28 cases, 8-11 mg/dL totaling 281 cases in the Tanah Merah Puskesmas work area. The purpose of the study was to determine the correlation between pregnancy spacing and compliance with taking Fe tablets to the incidence of anemia in pregnant women. The type of research used quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The research was conducted in March 2022 using stratified random sampling. The sample amounted to 189 people. The results showed there was a relationship between pregnancy distance (p value 0.000) and there was no relationship between Fe tablet consumption compliance (p value 0.245). It is suggested to the Health Office to be used as a program evaluation, to the puskesmas to be used as a reference in reducing the incidence of anemia, to researchers and further researchers to be used as evidence based. Keywords: Anemia, Pregnancy, Adherence, Fe Tablets

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding (ASI-E) is a very important practice for the optimal health and development of the baby. However, the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women towards breast milk often require improvement. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of education programs for pregnant women in increasing their knowledge and attitudes regarding breastfeeding. There was a significant improvement in the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women who participated in the education program compared to the control group. Post-intervention, pregnant women in the intervention group had a better understanding of the benefits of breast milk-E, correct breastfeeding techniques, and resolution of problems that may arise during the breastfeeding period. Positive attitudes toward ASI-E were also more dominant among the intervention group. This educational program provides strong evidence that increasing the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women through educational interventions can be an effective strategy to improve breastfeeding practices. Future recommendations include long-term research to evaluate the long-term impact of these education programs on breastfeeding practices as well as the inclusion of fathers in education efforts.

Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that requires long-term management to control blood sugar levels and prevent complications. The quality of life of diabetics is often affected by this disease, both physically, psychologically, and socially. Home care counseling has been one of the interventions considered effective in assisting diabetics in managing their condition. This study aims to evaluate the impact of home care counseling on the quality of life of people with diabetes mellitus. Methods: This research is quasi-experimental with a randomized pretest and posttest control group design. Samples are taken from patients' medical records and selected by simple random sampling. Results: The mean score before the intervention was 60.55 with a standard deviation of 2.605, which increased to 71.35 with a standard deviation of 4.107 after the intervention. Statistically, there is a difference in the quality of life before and after counseling with a value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05), which means that home care counseling is effective for sufferers to improve the quality of life of D.M. sufferers. Conclusions: Home care counseling significantly impacts the quality of life of people with diabetes mellitus. These interventions can improve the sufferer's self-management and provide the support needed to overcome the challenges faced in daily life. Therefore, home care counseling is recommended as part of comprehensive management for people with diabetes mellitus.
