Abstract

Abstract: The skin is the largest external organ of the human body that covers all surfaces of the body. The low level of personal hygiene and lack of attention to the use of clean water for fish traders make it easy for fish traders to get diseases, namely water-borne diseases, one of which is skin disease and others. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with complaints of contact dermatitis among fish traders at the Toss 3000 Traditional Market, Batam City in 2021. This type of research uses an analytic survey, with a cross-sectional study design, this study was conducted to determine the factors of contact dermatitis complaints in fish traders based on the availability of clean water by measuring water pH and personal hygiene. The sample in this study were fish traders in the traditional market toss 3000 Batam City with a total of 62 respondents. The sampling technique in this study was Total Sampling and statistical analysis using the Chi-Square test. The results of the Chi Square test analysis showed that there was a relationship between water pH, Clean Water Availability, and Personal Hygiene on fish traders at Toss 3000 Traditional Market Batam City (p-value <0.05). The description of the availability of clean water for fish traders at the Toss 3000 Traditional Market, Batam City in 2021, namely 13 samples (21%) available clean water and 49 samples (79%). There is a relationship between the availability of clean water and complaints of contact dermatitis among fish traders at the Toss 3000 Traditional Market, Batam City in 2021 with a P value of 0.050 <0.05. For traders, pay attention to the availability of clean water in their respective kiosks, by distinguishing between clean water for personal use and fish cleaning purposes. Abstract

Low Back Pain or lower back pain is an injury that is found as a result of poor physical activity. One of the factors that can influence the occurrence of complaints of low back pain is position, duration of sitting, and during activities. This study aimed to determine the relationship between sitting duration, sitting position, and student status with complaints of low back pain in college students. A cross-sectional analytic survey study was carried out on 107 people using a questionnaire, sampling was taken by random sampling. Questionnaire results were tested by Chi-Square statistical test. It was found that there was a relationship between long sitting and complaints of low back pain in Ibnu Sina University students with a p-value of 0.05; r 2 = 0.04. There is a relationship between sitting position and complaints of low back pain in Ibnu Sina University students, p-value 0.05; r 2 = 0.02. There is a relationship between student status and complaints of low back pain in students at Ibnu Cyan University, p-value 0.05; r 2 = 0.03. This study concludes that there is a relationship between sitting time, sitting position, and student status with complaints of low back pain among students at Ibnu Sina University, Batam City in 2023

Abstract

Pulau Ngenang, Batam City, faces significant challenges related to access to clean water and adequate sanitation, which negatively impact public health. The Healthy House Program is designed to address these issues through infrastructure improvements, health education, and increased public awareness. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Healthy House Program in improving the health quality of the Pulau Ngenang community. The methods used include qualitative and quantitative approaches, with initial and final health surveys, field observations, and in-depth interviews with household representatives. The results show significant improvements in access to clean water, sanitation facilities, and a reduction in the incidence of diseases such as diarrhea and skin diseases. Health education has increased the community's knowledge and awareness of healthy living practices. Field observations confirm that renovated houses have better ventilation, increased use of clean water, and improved sanitation systems. Interviews with household representatives reveal that the community has experienced direct benefits from the program, including improved quality of life and productivity. The conclusion is that the Healthy House Program has successfully improved the health and well-being of the Pulau Ngenang community. For the program's sustainability, continued technical and financial support, ongoing health education, additional program development, and collaboration with various stakeholders are recommended. With joint commitment, this program can continue to develop and provide long-term benefits for public health.
