Abstract

In Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra, Indonesia, significant economic transformation has occurred by developing Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) based on chili agriculture. Lubuk Cuik Village, one of the region's largest chili producers, has become the focus of economic empowerment through MSMEs. The community service program "Tiktok and Shopee Live: Solutions for Marketing Transformation and Competitiveness Enhancement of Kacang Intip MSMEs" was conducted by Muhammadiyah Kisaran College of Economics and involved interns and accompanying lecturers. Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in Indonesia's economy, contributing to economic growth, labor absorption, and poverty reduction. However, challenges such as limited access to credit and concerns about rejected credit applications often hinder the development of MSMEs. In Asahan Regency, the potential of MSMEs to improve regional economic welfare is huge thanks to abundant natural resources and local products. This article evaluates the impact of the assistance program organized by Lazismu on the economic independence of the poor through the development of culinary MSMEs in Kisaran. This study uses a comprehensive analysis method to assess how Lazismu's intervention affects aspects such as income, business capacity, and competitiveness of culinary MSMEs. The results of this study are expected to identify the key factors for the success of the program and provide recommendations for the development of economic empowerment programs in the future. The findings of this study also aim to contribute to the academic literature on the effectiveness of economic empowerment programs and provide guidance for policymakers and practitioners in the development of MSMEs.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to assess the financial performance of XYZ Bank through the lens of the balanced scorecard approach. The research method employed is qualitative, with data drawn from the annual reports of the banks in question for the period spanning 2020 to 2021. This period encompasses both the pre-merger and post-merger phases of Bank Syariah Indonesia. The findings of this study indicate that, from a financial perspective, the combined ROE ratio of the three Islamic banks, which has undergone a merger, is improving and includes healthy qualifications, approaching 15%. The customer perspective reveals an encouraging improvement in profitability, which is attributable to both customer migration from the predecessor bank to the merged bank and new customer growth. The merger has facilitated operating efficiency due to the synergy of the merger, leading to an increase in employee productivity, as measured by revenue. The establishment of several business unit networks represents an innovative form of internal business process, which can facilitate service delivery. The implications of this research provide a more detailed description of performance measurement using data from the company's published annual reports. Previous balance scorecard research employed survey methods in order to obtain information related to the growth and learning perspectives, as well as the customer and internal business process perspectives. In contrast, this study uses only data from the company's financial statements and annual reports.

Abstract

This article discusses the impact of greenflation on consumer price dynamics. Greenflation is a phenomenon that arises from the global drive towards sustainability, where increased demand for environmentally friendly products and technologies can lead to price increases due to higher production costs or limited availability. This study uses a literature review method to analyze the direct and indirect impacts of greenflation on consumer prices and compares these impacts across various countries or economic sectors. The research findings show that investments in green technology, environmental regulations, and changes in supply chains can increase production costs and final product prices. Direct impacts of greenflation include rising energy and transportation costs, as well as higher prices for goods and services produced with stricter environmental standards. A comparison between developed and developing countries indicates that developed countries have greater resources to invest in green technology but also experience more significant greenflation. This article provides insights into effective ways to manage the impacts of greenflation, including the implementation of policies supporting sustainable business practices, fiscal incentives for green technology, and strict enforcement of environmental regulations.
