Abstract

Students have difficulty understanding biology learning material, for this reason students need to be directed to understand biology learning concepts. This research aims to determine the effect of applying the Gagnon and Collay learning model in biology learning on student learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 13 Bone. The research used is a quantitative method with a Pre-Experimental Design type. where this research uses one class, namely the experimental class, at the beginning of the learning a pretest (initial test) will be given and at the end of the learning a posttest (final test) will be given. The research results obtained by the author are that the use of the Gagnon and Collay learning model can influence student learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 13 Bone. The average student pre-test score was 41.8 and the average post-test score was 85.4. Where using the Gagnon and Collay learning model can help students become more active in the learning process, apart from that students can also develop their creative patterns because they must be able to show their learning results or work, as well as help students to collaborate with members of their respective groups. This research can be input for teachers as a model that can help students improve their learning outcomes.

Abstract

Higher education in Indonesia is faced with various challenges in the era of globalization, which demands adaptation and innovation to produce graduates who are ready to compete at the global level. In response to this challenge, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology introduced the Independent Student Exchange Program (PMM) within the Independent Campus initiative. This program allows students to study outside their home university for one semester, providing the opportunity to broaden their horizons, skills, and experiences. This research aims to explore Biology Education students' perceptions of the benefits and challenges they experience when taking cross-major courses at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang in the PMM program. The research method used was a qualitative descriptive approach with an open questionnaire instrument distributed to five PMM student participants. Research results show that students gain a variety of benefits from this program, including new perspectives, improved practical skills, diverse academic experiences, and expanded knowledge across disciplines. However, students also face various challenges, such as academic difficulties in understanding new material, differences in teaching methods, social and cultural adaptation, as well as technical and logistical obstacles. In conclusion, although PMM provides valuable learning experiences and enriches students' abilities, there is a need for better support to help them overcome the challenges they face. The results of this research can be a reference for improving the implementation of the PMM program in the future, so that it is more effective in supporting students' academic and personal development.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how the Edugames baamboozle media is used as an evaluation medium for the biology cognitive abilities of class X students at SMAN 14 Bone. The research used is quantitative research with the Pre-Experimental Design type of research with the One Group Pre-test and Post-test Design type. The data collection technique used in this research is giving a pre-test and post-test in the form of multiple choice and documentation. The results of inferential analysis using three tests, namely normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis test, are known from the results of normality data analysis using one Kolmogrov-Smirnov test, pre-test 0.83 ˃ 0.05 and post-test 0.37 > 0.05 (normal ). The homogeneity test using Levene Statistics shows 0.32 ˃ 0.05 (homogeneous) and based on the t test using the Paired-test the significant rate used is α = 0.05. The data obtained is significant (0.000) ˂ = 0.05, thus H0 is rejected and there was acceptance of H1 which showed that there was effectiveness before the treatment was given and after the treatment using the Edugames baamboozle media. Based on research conducted at SMAN 14 Bone, the average pre-test score was 39.7, while the average post-test score was 85.0. The post-test score was higher than the pre-test score. It can be concluded that through the Edugames baamboozle media it has an influence on the Biology cognitive abilities of class XI students at SMAN 14 Bone and they provide a positive response to this learning media.
