Abstract

This study specifically aimed 1) to determine the relationship between family social support and adjustment to the conflict of dual role of working married women and 2) to determine the differences in the dual role conflict of married women who worked on the level of education. The population of the research was 150 working married women as teachers at St. Bonaventura High School of Madiun and lecturers of Widya Mandala Catholic University of Madiun. The sample was 38 in number consisting of 15 teachers and 23 lecturers. The data were collected through three scales, namely the scale of the dual role conflict of married women who worked, family social support, and adjustment. The data were analyzed using Multiple Linear Regression technique and Independent Sample T-test. The result of the analysis on the first hypothesis showed that there was a negative relationship between family social support and adjustment to the dual role conflict of working married women. It was accepted with a value R = -0.370, R Square = 0.137 or 13.7%, the value of F = 2.781, odds error P = 0.002 (<0.05). T test on each of the independent variables was constant. Family social support variable t count was -0791 with a significance level of 0.000 (<0.05). While, the adjustment variable t count was -0235 with a significance level of 0.005 (<0.05). The result of the analysis on the second hypothesis indicated that there were differences in the dual role conflict of working married women based on their level of education. It was accepted with F value of 4.073, t value of 1.523 with a significance level of 0.000 (≤ 0.05). The mean value of S1 education level was 102,96 and the mean education level of the S2 was 109.40. The higher the education level was the higher the conflict of dual role of working married women would be.

Abstract

This research was of three objectives: (a) to examine the relationship between sex role and interpersonal competence of adolescence, (b) to examine whether there was some difference of interpersonal competence of adolescence due to sex role, and (c) to examine whether there was some difference  of  interpersonal  competence of adolescence due to gender. The sample of this research was 288, consisting of 125 boys and 163 girls. The data were collected using questionnaires. The first questionnaire was used to measure the levels of interpersonal competence, while the second one was aimed to assess the levels of sex role. The data were analyzed statistically by the use of Product Moment and analysis t-test. The research findings showed that there was a positive relationship between the degree of sex role and the levels of interpersonal competence of adolescence rxy 0,170, high significance 0.000. Furthermore, the androgyny had a higher level of interpersonal competence of adolescence than the uncategorized (androgyny mean 145.69 and uncategorized mean 133.07), and the girls had a higher level of interpersonal competence than the boys (mean 146, and 151.07).

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the relation between social competence and social adaptation on youths. Besides, it was also meant to search the difference of social adaptation among  youths (boys and girls). The population of the research was  986 high school students in Kota and Kabupaten Madiun. The sample of the research was 288 students, comprising 125 boys and 163 girls. The data were collected by the use of one scale and one questionnaire namely, social adaptation scale and social competence questionnaire. The data were analyzed  using Product Moment Correlation and T- test. The result of the data analysis showed  that: 1) there was positive and very significant relation between social competence and social adaptation on youths with rxy 0.154, at significance level 0.000 (p < 0.05)  and 2) there was very significant difference of  social adaptation among youths based on sex (boys and girls). Social adaptation level on  t was 5.704 at significance level 0.000 (p < 0.05). Girls had higher social adaptation than boys.
