Abstract

Pain conditions are found in most cases such as in conditions of burns, stab wounds, tear wounds and fracture conditions, both open fractures and closed fractures. Every individual experiencing pain has a different response in addressing the condition of the pain experienced such as shouting, grimacing, closing his eyes firmly, biting his lips, blowing, holding and rubbing the area experiencing pain. The purpose of this study is to identify the responses made by patients with fractures in addressing the pain experienced in the District and the City of South Sumatra in 2017. This study is a quantitative descriptive research in which researchers identify the response of patients with fractures in the region of Regency and City of South Sumatera. The sample in this study were patients who experienced fractures amounted to 78 people selected using the technique of Accidental Sampling and meet the criteria that have been determined. The data in this study can be done by directly identification to the response of patients who experience fracture. The results of identification recorded and then carried the data into the SPSS program version 19. This study was conducted in January-June 2017 located in the District and the City of South Sumatra. Based on the results of the study known that the response of sufferers who suffered fractures quite a lot and varied, the most responses are by grinning amounted to 17 respondents (21.8%), crying amounted to 15 respondents (19.2%) each of shouting and screaming are 7 respondents (9.0 %). Some of the responses made by fracture sufferer such as compressing, relaxation / regulation of the breathing pattern and holding the fracture area, the self-contained response is done by the patient with the aim to minimize the intensity of fracture pain that is being experienced.
