Abstract

The television industry has undergone many changes and disruptions and is always required to be creative in order to survive. Creative television employees play an important role in the company's performance in the midst of unfavorable environmental conditions. This study aims to examine the effect of abusive supervision on employee creativity, sleep deprivation, emotional exhaustion, and self efficacy. Besides aiming to examine the effect between variables, this study also intends to examine the impact of related variables to employee creativity and its mediating roles were also investigated. This research employed a quantitative study with an online survey of 203 television station employees in Indonesia. The structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method was used to analyze the data. Based on the research that has been done, the results showed that abusive supervision was not proven to directly and significantly affect employee creativity, this is due to the low level of abusive supervision in the television industry. However, abusive supervision has been shown to increase sleep deprivation, emotional exhaustion, and decrease employee self efficacy. This study also found that employee creativity was strongly influenced by employee self efficacy. Lastly, the results indicated that self efficacy could act as a potential mediator between abusive supervision and employee creativity.

Abstract

Provinces in the eastern part of Indonesia still have high percentage of residents living below the poverty line. However, some provinces are the producers of food commodities. The One Village One Product (OVOP) movement has been proven to be able to reduce the poverty level and can be implemented in East Indonesia, especially by developing the community-based food industry. The objective of the research is to develop a decision making model to determine the best suitable community-based food industry to be developed optimally in East Indonesia using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). We identify five criteria for the model from the literature and interviews with experts, namely resources, demand, supporting industries, strategy and competitiveness, and supports from government and other parties. We apply the model for the case of East Sumba regency of the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) province, to select from alternatives, namely cassava, banana, corn and peanut-based food industries. The results show that banana-based industry is chosen as the best-suitable community-based food industry, mainly due to the uniqueness of the banana-based product and high production of banana in the area.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the conceptual model covering the variable of love-of-money, religiosity, organizational commitment, salary satisfaction, and ethical behavior on the samples of Muslim employees in the banking sector. This study used a quantitative design by collecting data from 637 respondents based on purposive sampling. The data processing was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method, with LISREL 8.8 software. This study found that love-of-money directly and negatively affected ethical behavior, while religiosity had a significant and positive effect on ethical behavior. Unlike the love-of-money variable that only directly and significantly affected ethical behavior, this study proved the indirect effect of religiosity on ethical behavior through salary satisfaction and organizational commitment. Keywords: love of money, religiosity, ethical behavior, pay satisfaction, organizational commitment

Abstract

This study aims to understand the effect of diversity management on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB), taking into account the mediating role of organizational inclusion, affective commitment, and work engagement. The data for this quantitative study was collected using questionnaires from 263 employees who have worked for at least one year in FMCG companies operating in Indonesia. The data analyzed in Structural Equation Modelling showed that diversity management had no direct effect on OCB. The result indicated that the causal relationship between diversity management and OCB was fully mediated by organizational inclusion and work engagement. However, affective commitment was not proven to mediate the causal relationship between diversity management on OCB. This study reveals the importance of diversity management implementation within a company and ways of action to boost OCB of the employees. Keywords: diversity management, organizational inclusion, affective commitment, work engagement, organizational citizenship behavior

Abstract

Decentralization in Indonesia was meant to aid in the shifting of power from the central government to local governments, with the main aim to increase public services towards a more expeditious, efficient, flexible, and high quality of services, changing the paradigm from a ‘served bureaucracy’ towards a ‘bureaucracy that serves’. This research will evaluate: first, the perception of public service consumers towards the quality of public/government services, second, the perceived value received from public services, as well as third, the measurement of their satisfaction level resulting from the quality of services delivered by local governments at city level in the three areas of the Java Island. The research will use triangulation methods: qualitative research will be conducted using focus group discussions whereas quantitative research will be conducted using surveys. The findings are: first, the ten dimensions of service quality for the public sector -i.e. tangibility, reliability, responsiveness, credibility, competence, understanding customers, access, security, communication, and courtesy- were all proven to form the service quality construct in the public service quality. Moreover the proposed model that depicts the relationship between public service quality, perceived value and satisfaction was also confirmed; hence provide an evaluation tool for public services in city level.

Abstract

Based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), this study aims to examine the influence of the entrepreneurial ecosystem on entrepreneurial intention, and to investigate the mediating role of entrepreneurial self-efficacy and perceived behavioral control in this relationship. This study used data collected from 426 undergraduate students from four different universities in the Greater Jakarta area. Through data processing carried out using the structural equation modeling (SEM) method, it was found that entrepreneurial self-efficacy and perceived behavioral control fully mediate the relationship between entrepreneurial ecosystem and entrepreneurial intention with no direct influence of entrepreneurial ecosystem on entrepreneurial intention. The increase in national entrepreneurship can be manifested through increasing the entrepreneurial intention on undergraduate students. The participation of various stakeholders, starting from the society, public media, educational institutions, and the government was found to play important roles in supporting its realization. This research is expected to enrich theoretical studies related to the influence of entrepreneurial ecosystems on entrepreneurial intentions of undergraduate students in developing countries context.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that influence voluntary turnover and how owners/ man- agers in SMEs conduct retention on their employees because the studies related to HR management in SMEs are still relatively few. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews with five own- ers /SME managers and 19 employees from five metal processing SMEs in Kebasen, Tegal. From the results, some findings based on employee information revealed that the reasons for employees leaving were mainly related to compensation issues and the intention to open a similar business. Whereas from the owner/ manager’s perspective, the reason employees leaving are: dissatisfaction with wages, employee hijacking (poaching), and personal problems. For matters relating to factors that can re- tain employees include: family culture, relationships both with superiors and coworkers as well as the flexibility offered by SMEs.
