Abstract

Palangka Raya University Campus is a form of urban Green Open Space (GOS) that hasecological, social, cultural and aesthetic benefits. It is assumed that many trees which arepart of the green open space on the Palangka Raya University campus are experiencingunfavorable conditions. To obtain this information, a study was conducted using the foresthealth monitoring (FHM) method. The purpose of this study was to obtain data on thelevel of tree damage and the form of pests and diseases as well as human disturbance inthe green open space area of Palangka Raya University

Abstract

The purpose of this study (a) determine the composition and structure of vegetation based on the growth rate (tree, pole, sapling, seedling) in each Permanent Sample Plot (PSP); (b) to calculate the potency of biomass and carbon in vegetation trees level, poles and sapling on each PSP. The results showed that the number of vegetation species found in PSP-1 as many as 47 species with 28 family and PSP-2 of 33 species with 24 family. The vegetation of species that dominate based on the level of growth (tree, pole, sapling, seedling) in the PSP-1 consists of : Gerunggang (Cratoxylum arborescens (Vahl) Blume) and Jambu-jambu (Syzigium sp). In PSP-2 of vegetation species that dominance Tumih (Combretocarpus rotundatus (Miq.) Danser) and Jambu-jambu (Syzigium sp). The structure of the vegetation horizontally in the PSP-1 and PSP-2 dominated the vegetation of the small diameter and structure of the vegetation vertical in the dominance of vegetation including the stratum D. The average value the species diversity indexs vegetation tree level, pole, sapling and seedling in PSP-1 at 2.09 included in the category of “medium” and in PSP-2 of 1.83 which is included in the category of “low”. The potency vegetation biomass total in PSP-1 and PSP-2 respectively 152.69 tons/ha and 122.93 tons/ha as well as the potency carbon vegetation total in PSP-1 and PSP-2 respectively 71.76 tons/ha and 57.78 tons/ha.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify nest density and orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus wurmbii) population as well as nest characteristics (nest tree type, nest tree height, nest tree diameter, nest age class, nest location) in the special zone of the Peat Forest Nature Laboratory (LAHG) of Sebangau National Park, Central Kalimantan. The research used the strip transect method with the length of each line ± 1000 m and a width of 20 m on each right and left side of the line as many as 5 transect lines. The objects of observation were orangutans, orangutan nests, and nest trees along the transect lines. The results showed that the average density of orangutan nests in the LAHG special zone of Sebangau National Park in Central Kalimantan was 375.17 nests/km2 with an estimated orangutan population density of 0.987 individuals/km2. Characteristics of orangutan nests found in the research location include: the most common tree species used as a place to make orangutan nests is Tarantang (Campnosperma coriaceum (Jack) Hallier f.) from the Anacardiaceae family. The height and diameter of the most dominant trees used as orangutan nests ranged from 11-15 m and 11-20 cm, respectively. The height of orangutan nests from the ground ranged from 11-15 m, the class of nests included class B, and the position of nests included category 4.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the level of preferences and characteristics of orangutan nesting sites in Area Punggualas Sebangau National Park, Central Kalimantan using the strip transect method, a path 1 km long and 25 m wide on each side of the right and left lanes. Nest observations were carried out on 10 transects and the distance between transects was ±200 m. Based on observations of the habitat characteristics and preferences of orangutan nest trees (Pongo pygmaeus) in Punggualas, there are 13 tree species that orangutans like, namely Sagagulang, Bintan, Galam Merah, Kajunjung, Mahalilis, Pampaning, Tatumbu, Rasak, Tutup Kabali, Forest Mangosteen, Nyatoh bawui , Uweh, and Tarantang. The physical tree parameters (total tree height, tree diameter, nest height, and nest position) show X2Hitung > X2Tabel, which means that each variable has a relationship with the frequency of finding significant nests for orangutans to be nests.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze te level of income of respondent and to analyze the level of income of respondent with the agroforestry system in the village of Kereng Bangkirai, Palangka Raya City. This study used a survey method with data collection including primary data and secondary data. The data analysis used in this research is income analysis, analysis in the contribution of agrosforestry income to total income to total income. This research was conducted in Kereng Bangkirai Village, Sabangau District, Palangka Raya City, Sarting from October to December 2020. These results showed that the income of respondents in Kereng Bangkirai Village using the agroforestry system was Rp.538.985.000, -/year. The level of contribution of agroforestry shows that the spearman correlation value (rho) of 0,82 means that the contribution of agroforestry activities to the respondent is very good.

Abstract

The purpose of this study (a) inventory and identify the composition of amphibians of the Anura order in the Tangkiling Hill Conservation Area, Palangka Raya City; and (b) calculate the ecological index of the Anura order amphibians in the Tangkiling Hill Conservation Area, Palangka Raya City. The results showed that the number of individuals of the amphibians of Anura order found in the research location was 234 individuals consisting of 18 species from 5 families, with the number of amphibian species found in water was 69.23% while in land 30.76%. Based on the calculation of the ecological index, it was found that the value of the species diversity index (H') was around 1.16 – 2.26 which categorized as "low" to "medium". The value of the species evenness index (E') was found to be 0.5 - 0.75, which is included in the "medium" to "high" category. The abundance index value (D) was found to be around 1.41 – 39.66. Meanwhile, the calculation of the important value index obtained an index value around 3.87 – 23.99 with Limnonectes finchi  having the highest value and Bufo juxtasper, Bufo quadriporcatus, Pseudobufo subasper, and Rana chalconota having the lowest value.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the diversity of species and population density of birds in the Lapak Jaru Forest Park (Tahura) Area. The method used is the Rapid Assessment method and a combination method between the Point Count method and Line Transect. Data analysis uses the Species Richness Index, Species Diversity Index, Evenness Index and Population Density. The research results showed that the number of bird species at the research location is 28 bird species with a total number of 238 individuals. The Species Richness Index obtained is 4,93, the Species Diversity Index is 2,96, and the Evenness Index is 0,89. The bird population density at the research location is 2,701.11 individuals/km2, and the five types of birds with the highest density are Cinenen Belukar (306,68 individuals/km2), Pentis Kalimantan (271,29 individuals/km2), Cucak Kelabu (235,9 individuals/km2), Asi Topi-Sisik (235,9 individuals/km2) and Jingjing Batu (176,93 individuals/km2)
