Abstract

Background: Premarital sex is one of the high-risk behaviors of adolescents today. The characteristics of adolescents can also be a triggering factor for premarital sex. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between characteristics and attitudes of adolescents towards premarital sex in East Java Province.Methods: This is a quantitative research with a cross sectional research design. The data used were taken from Program Performance and Accountability Survey (2018) on adolescents aged 15-24 years in East Java Province. The sample of this study was 2796 adolescents after normal weight adolescents were carried out. The dependent variable in this study is the attitude of adolescents, while the independent variables are place of residence, age, gender, education, and economic status. Data collection using smartphones and instruments that refer to the IDHS and PMA. The data were analyzed descriptively and tested using chi-square with a significance level of 0.05.Result and Conclusion: The results showed that the characteristics associated with the attitude of female adolescent was the place of residence with a significance value of 0.026. Age was related to the attitude of male adolescent with a significance value of 0.014. Education was related to the attitude of female adolescent (p-vaue = 0.000) and attitudes of male adolescent (p-value = 0.016). Economic status was related to the attitude of female adolescent (p-value = 0.000) and attitudes of male adolescents (p-value = 0.035). Characteristics had a relationship with adolescent attitudes in conducting pre-primary sex behavior. Therefore, it is necessary to have appropriate efforts to prevent adolescent risk behavior in accordance with the characteristics and needs of today’s youth

Abstract

Smoking cessation intention is a motivating factor that influence to smoking cessation behavior. Smokingcessation intention is influenced by attitude toward smoking cessation behavior, subjective norm, and perceivedbehavior control. This research aims to analyze the influence of emotional intelligence and nicotine dependencelevel on smoking cessation intention. This research was obesevational analytic study with cross sectional designand used a quantitative approach. The population of this study were male smoker college student of state universityin Madura. The sampling method used proportionate stratified random sampling with sample size 290 collegestudent. The result of this study are emotional intelligence influenced smoking cessation intention trough attitudetoward smoking cessation behavior and subjective norm. Nicotine dependence level influenced smoking cessationintention trough attitude toward smoking cessation, subjective norm, and perceived behavior control. The conclusionof this study was nicotine dependence level has more influence on smoking cessation intention than emotionalintelligence.

Abstract

Every child has rights for survival, growth, development and protection from violence and discrimination. Family’s problem such as poverty, bad relationship between children and p arents, divorce, and acts of violence in children that affecting children become street children and abandoned children. Street children are very close to violence, neglected by  parents, economic problems that result in children not attending school or an inadequate life. Although children in UPTD Kampung Anak Negeri has background as street children and abandoned children but with training that provided, the children are able to achieve a proud achievement. The research was conducted at UPTD Kampung Anak Negeri Surabaya with descriptive method of qualitative approach. The first variable in this research is the characteristics of children consisting of the background of p arenting, achievements, and activities that are occupied. The second variable is the internal dimension factor of s elf-concept consisting of selfidentity, self-behavior, and self-assessment. Instrument in this research is guidance of interview and observation with informant amounted to 8 people who already have achievements. Most children already know their self-identity. Most children are satisfied with their self if it compared with before they in UPTD Kampung Anak Negeri. Most children are already aware and responsible with the task they do. The conclusions of this study indicate that the  self-concept supports the creation of good mental health.

Abstract

Adolescents play an important role as a determinant of the future of a nation, because of that, adolescents have to attention about their health. The phenomenon showed many adolescents were at risk in early hypertension. The study aimed to examine the effect of health coaching on behavior changes to prevent hypertension among adolescents in Senior High School Waingapu City, East Sumba. A quasi-experimental study design, pre and post-test, with an equivalent control group was applied in this study. We select samples using a simple random sampling for 29 experimental groups and 29 samples in the control group. The results of the study will be analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test with P <0.05. The results showed a positive effect of health coaching on behavior change based on the theory of Health Promotion Model, such us in perceived benefit of action (p=0.000), perceived barrier to action (p=0.004), perceived self-efficacy (p=0.003), activity-related effect (p=0.002), commitment (p=0.000) and behavior change in adolescents to prevent hypertension (p=0.096). Health coaching can be applied in changing adolescent behavior to prevent hypertension. Coaching and training needed to change not just knowledge occur, but also attitudes, actions, and commitments from adolescents

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is one of the main public health problems in Indonesia. This disease is caused by the dengue virus and is transmitted through the bite of the Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. DHF has spread widely throughout Indonesia, one of which is Mojokerto and its surroundings. From 2014 to 2021, the incidence rate (IR) of dengue fever in Mojokerto has increased and decreased. However, dengue cases always appear, especially in endemic areas such as Mojokerto. This study aims to analyze the relationship between waste management practices and the incidence of dengue fever in Mojokerto Regency. This research is an analytic observational study with a case control approach. The sample of the case group in this study were DHF patients at the Puri Public Health Center, Semarang Regency and the control group were healthy people or neighbors of DHF patients who lived in Mojokerto. The research sample was 27 cases and 27 controls with consecutive sampling technique. The data were processed by chi-square test. From the statistical test, it is known that there is a relationship between waste management practices (p = 0.003) and the incidence of DHF in Semarang Regency.

Abstract

Objective: to identify risk factors of low back pain on Nurses in the workplace according to Ecological Models.Methods: The research design is Literature Review using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta Analysis (PRISMA) checklist. Systematic search was done in Scuence Direct, Medline, Pubmed, and Proquest.  The articles was searched using keywords and cross-sectional, RCT, Quasi-experimental, Analisa kuantitatif, Prospective longitudinal study, Randomized Control and Trial. Results: 41 study were included in this review.  The study found 14 ris factors in intrapersonal level, 2 in interpersonal level, 4 in organizational level and 4 in community level. The study found that smoking is not a risk factor.Conclusion:  The study found 24 risk factors for low back pain on nureses in the workplace in 4 levels of Ecological Models. A comprehensive intervention is needed to get more effective result.
