Abstract

Studying English has become an important requirement in the technological era,namely the Industrial is today. One effort in the process of introducing English in elementary schools is by learning and memorizing English vocabulary that can be done by teachers i nparticular. Learning English vocabulary will increase our ability to remember. One way or method for learning to improve English vocabulary is through games. Games are one of the most effective tools to be taught to children when they want to improve their English vocabulary. This method aims to improve English vocabulary by playing guess words through our gestures. That way we will learn tomemorize and understand the words conveyed. The more guesses are correct, then we can learn the vocabulary with fun. Therefore this gamemethod can be applied by teachers in the process of learning English in the classroom.

Abstract

The ability to speak English is a very valuable skill. With good English speaking skills, a person can confidently introduce himself or others. The aim of this research is to determine students' ability to use English and fluency when introducing themselves. The method used in this research uses qualitative methods with interview design and documentation. This research involved 26 students in class 3 of Al Ittihadiyah elementary school. The results of this research show that there are some students who are fluent in using English by introducing themselves. However, there are also some students who are still not fluent in using English, lack vocabulary and lack self-confidence.

Abstract

Activities in the learning process in the classroom still seem monotonous and less interesting due to the teacher's lack of proficiency in classroom management, seen when learning students tend not to be enthusiastic in the learning process. This study aims to examine in depth the efforts made by teachers in classroom management at school. This research uses field research by taking a qualitative descriptive approach. This research was conducted at MIS Mardliyatul Medan, the data was obtained through observations to the school, interviews with teachers and documentation. In addition, researchers also obtained data through literature studies referring to journal references, books, and the internet that are in line with the findings of researchers. Based on the research results obtained at MIS Mardliyatul Medan, there are several efforts that teachers make in classroom management: teachers adjust the seating arrangement, invite students to work together, organize methods and media in the learning process and so on. Classroom management creates a comfortable and conducive classroom atmosphere, in order to create effective learning.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) merupakan media untuk menjembatani dunia pendidikan dengan masyarakat. Di era globalisasi dengan pemanfaatan teknologi dan peran pemerintah menjadi salah satu pilot proyek yang dapat dijadikan peluang untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat melalui peluang berwirausaha. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk Pemberdayaan Masyarakat melalui Sosialisasi Pengelolaan Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDes) bagi aparatur desa dan Pengelola BUMDes sebagai dasar untuk meningkatkan kemampuan baik secara individu maupun secara lembaga desa di Desa Timbang Jaya Kecamatan Bahorok Kabupaten Langkat. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode ceramah, tanya jawab dan metode diskusi. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui Sosialisasi Pengelolaan Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDes), sehingga pengelola BUMDes memilki kemampuan dalam menjalankan program yang tepat sasaran agar bisa dipertanggungjawabkan sesuai dengan aturan yang berlaku, khususnya di Desa Timbang Jaya Kecamatan Bahorok Kabupaten Langkat. Harapan ke depan tentunya diperlukan tindak lanjut oleh Pemerintah Daerah dan semua pihak yang terkait untuk menggali potensi-potensi yang ada di wilayah tersebut.

Abstract

English subjects focus on developing communication, comprehension, pronunciation, and writing proficiency. Teachers should use effective methods such as Grammar Translation Method (GTM) for grammar rules and translation. Educators must understand different teaching approaches to teach English effectively, such as GTM for vocabulary learning. Therefore, this research focuses on an in-depth study of how the Application of English Learning Using Grammar Translation Method (Gtm) to Improve Learning Outcomes of Grade 2 Students at SDS Al- Ittihadiah. In this study using a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques in qualitative research are observation, interviews, and documentation studies. In addition to using qualitative research, this research also uses literature research or library research. Based on the research and discussion, English teaching at SDS Al-Ittihadiah has developed to keep up with globalization. The GTM method is used in grade 2, where students must be able to read and write English first. GTM focuses on grammar and vocabulary, with teachers using grammar analysis and translation. The main priorities of this method are reading, writing and translation skills. In addition, GTM has increased students' interest in translating Indonesian to English and helped teachers in evaluating students' learning outcomes. Overall, GTM is effective in improving students' ability to learn English..

Abstract

The human body needs a balanced diet to maintain overall health and well-being. Among the important food groups, vegetables play a key role in providing essential nutrients, vitamins and minerals that promote health. The purpose of this study is to investigate the importance of vegetable consumption on body health. A comprehensive review of the available literature found that eating vegetables has many benefits for the body, including reducing the risk of chronic diseases, improving digestion and strengthening the immune system. The results of this study highlight the importance of adding vegetables to the diet to maintain optimal health.

Abstract

English is one of the foreign languages that needs to be mastered to facilitate a person in communicating between countries. Difficulties that are often found in the process of learning English in elementary schools are vocabulary mastery. The original purpose of this study is to find out more about what forms of difficulties experienced by students in vocabulary domination material, find out what factors cause difficulties in vocabulary domination, and find out solutions to handle it.   The researcher used qualitative research methods. The results share that there are many forms of difficulties experienced by elementary school students in mastering English vocabulary, including students who are not familiar with the use of English dictionaries, students lack understanding of English vocabulary in the material presented, students are not accustomed to using English in everyday life, students cannot mention vocabulary, synonyms and antonyms in writing, and students have not been able to write synchronous words with perfect spelling. The difficulties that occur are caused by internal factors as well as external factors.  Efforts that can be made by the teacher to increase students' mastery of English vocabulary are by using media or learning methods such as the Running Dictation method, picture word domino card media, charades game method, Flash Card media, and TPR storytelling method.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify students’ perception towards English speaking ability. The researcher  used  descriptive  qualitative  research  as  the  method  in  this  study. The  Observation  and interview wereused as the instrument. To increase the validity of the data, field note was used to support  the  methodology  of  the  research.  After  analyzing  the  data,  the  researcher  found  thatthe students’ perception toward English speaking ability is various. They realizedthat  speaking  is  an important  skill  in  English  to  be  mastered  well.  They  argued  that  speaking  is  important  skill  to communicate  each  other  especially  as  the  International  and  global  language  used  in  the  world. Unfortunately,  most  of  them  could  not  speak  English  well  and  fluently,  and  many  students  also considered  that  speaking  is  difficult  to  be  mastered  because  of  some  aspects  such  as  limited vocabulary,  less  understanding  of  grammar  and  also  the  pronunciation  which  cannot  be  well.  The  result  also  showed  that  there  are  some  themes  drawn  from  the  interview,  namely students’ difficulties, students’ expectation and need of teacher’s assistance

Abstract

English is one of the languages of communication used all over the world. Up-to-date information in the fields of science, technology, politics, education, health, economics, and other fields is always written in foreign languages, especially English. In the era of globalization and free markets, all individuals must be able to compete for reliable resources. The role of English is so important that learning English should be an individual investment to achieve a bright life.
