Abstract

Diabetes melitus merupakan penyakit gangguan metabolik yang disebabkan oleh gagalnya organ pankreas dalam memproduksi hormon insulin secara memadai. Terapi farmakologi diabetes melitus saat ini masih terbatas pada penggunaan obat-obatan seperti hipoglikemik oral (OHO) dan masyarakat yang menderita diabetes sebagian besar melakukan swamedikasi dengan obat tradisonal yang digunakan bersamaan dengan obat antidiabetes sintesis. Salah satu contoh tanaman yang dapat menurunkan kadar glukosa darah adalah buah pare dan bunga rosella yang memiliki kandungan flavonoid untuk menurunkan glukosa darah dengan cara meningkatkan sensitivitas sel terhadap insulin dan merangsang pelepasan insulin pada sel β pancreas. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan edukasi kepada siswa Madrasah Aliyah Swasta Al-Washliyah tentang obat antidiabetes yang berasal dari bahan alam yaitu buah pare dan bunga rosella. Setelah mengikuti kegiatan ini peserta memiliki pengetahuan yang baru tentang cara pengolahan bahan alam seperti buah pare dan bunga rosella sebagai terapi pengobatan diabetes melitus yang aman dan efektif.

Abstract

Health Vocational High School is a place of education where students study. Busy student activities can sometimes reduce students' knowledge regarding the use of natural materials. The method applied in community service activities is providing counseling and education in the form of lectures and questions and answers directly by practicing making pomade cosmetics. Students' lack of knowledge regarding the use of natural ingredients from meniran leaves (Phyllanthus niruri L) as the main ingredient in natural pomade cosmetics which functions as a hair growth stimulant. For this reason, students are given education and understanding about the formulation of meniran leaf extract pomade preparations. The aim of holding service activities for students is "Introducing Local Plants for Cosmetics to Gen Z: Education on the Formulation of Meniran Leaf Extract Pomade Preparations as a Hair Growth Stimulator". To provide knowledge and understanding to Dewantara Husada Health Vocational School students regarding the introduction of local plants for cosmetics in the formulation of meniran leaf extract pomade as a hair growth stimulant. The conclusion of this PKM activity was carried out using the lecture and question and answer method, and practice. Based on the high level of participation in this PKM activity, it was classified as very good, participants in the question and answer session were considered to have a special interest in the material

Abstract

Drug Information Service (PIO) is one of the standards that must be applied to improve the best pharmaceutical services. Drug information services are very necessary for patients because complete drug information can determine the success of self-therapy at home, especially for outpatients. Provision of drug information has an important role to achieve optimal treatment results, Provision of drug information has an important role to achieve optimal treatment results, so as to improve the quality of life of patients. Pharmaceutical services at this time have shifted their orientation from drugs to patients referring to pharmaceutical care. This study used a descriptive observational research method with a cross sectional design and used a quantitative approach. This research was conducted at the Outpatient Installation of Sembiring Deli Tua General Hospital. The population is the entire object used in the study.

Abstract

Background: Meniran petroleum ether extract 2% which contains lignans and terpenoids can increase hair growth activity by inhibiting 5α-reductase. In addition, the ethanol extract of candlenut seeds from the same family as meniran Flavonoids and phenols can also stimulate hair growth. Previous studies have also shown that quercetin also has activity to increase hair growth. Meniran is also known to contain the flavonoids quercetin, nirurin, rutin, quercitrin, astragalin and galocatechin. So meniran ethanol extract was chosen for this study. Based on a literature search about this research, the researcher was interested in formulating meniran leaf extract pomade (Phyllanthus niruri L.) as a hair stimulant in rabbits (Oryclolagus cunucilus). Purpose: To determine the formulation of meniran leaf extract pmade (Phyllanthus niruri L.) which is good in stimulating hair growth in rabbits. Methods: The method used was an experimental study to test the characteristics of pomade preparations with meniran leaf extract concentrations of 5%, 7.5% and 10% with organoleptic, homogeneity, spreadability, pH, irritation and freeze-thaw parameters. Results: From the results of the research on the characteristic test of pomade preparations on formulations of formula I, formula II and formula III it was found that they fulfilled the characteristics of pomade while F0 did not meet the spreadability requirements. Conclusion: Among the three formulations, it was found that pomade with formula III had the effectiveness of a good hair growth stimulant and could compete with the positive control.

Abstract

Contact dermatitis is dermatitis caused by the presence of irritants or allergens attached to the skin. Epidemiological data in Indonesia shows that 97% of 389 cases of skin disease are contact dermatitis, 66.3% of these cases are irritant contact dermatitis and 33.7% are allergic contact dermatitis. This study aims to determine the relationship between personal hygiene and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) with the incidence of contact dermatitis in waste collectors at the Tadukan Raga Deli Serdang final disposal site (TPA) in 2023. This study used a quantitative approach with a cross sectional study design. The research was conducted in March 2023 – June 2023 at the Tadukan Raga landfill in Tanjung Morawa. The population of this study were all garbage collectors at the Tadukan Raga TPA. The number of samples in this study were 43 people with the sampling technique being total sampling. Data was collected using a questionnaire with interviews. Data analysis was performed univariately and bivariately with the chi-Square test. The results showed that the variables associated with the incidence of contact dermatitis were: personal hygiene (pvalue=0.004), personal protective equipment (pvalue=0.013). There is a relationship between personal hygiene and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) with the incidence of contact dermatitis.

Abstract

Currently, nickel is widely used in various industries because it offers numerous benefits, particularly in the metal and battery industries, among others. With the increasing applications and advantages of nickel, it is necessary to separate nickel from its source. The aim of this study is to investigate and analyze the influence of temperature and ratio on the recovery of lateritic nickel ore in Pomalaa, Southeast Sulawesi, during the leaching process of nickel metal using sulfuric acid. Based on XRF analysis, the rock samples have a high nickel content of approximately 5.67%. This result is similar to the total nickel testing using aqua regia as a solvent, which yielded around 6.5429%. Under the conditions of leaching nickel-bearing rock with a solid-liquid ratio of 1:20 and a temperature of 90°C, the highest percentage of nickel extraction achieved is approximately 66.76%. Conversely, a low percentage of nickel extraction is obtained at room temperature with a solid-liquid ratio of 1:10, approximately 8.65%. Based on these results, temperature and solid-liquid ratio in the leaching process significantly influence the percentage of nickel extraction.
