Abstract

ABSTRACT Pregnancy and labor in adolescent contribute to increase perinatal death in Indonesia. In adolescent pregnancy, complications such as preterm labor, low birth weight, and perinatal death often occur. The aim of this study to determine the association between adolescent pregnancy and preterm birth, low birth weight and asphyxia. Methods : All adolescent women who gave birth at Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto hospital in 2009 (n=60) were included in this population -based a survey of cohort retrospective study. Chi Square was used to analyse the relation between adolescent pregnancy and preterm birth, low birth weight and asphyxia. Result of this study shows the average age of adolescent mother were 17,8 years old, with deviation standard 1,038, youngest age was 14 and oldest was 19. Bivariate analysis shows there are significant relationship between adolescent pregnancy and preterm bith with p=0,012 and OR= 3,857, and between adolescent pregnancy and low birth weight with p=0,001 and OR=7. Meanwhile there is no relationship between adolescent pregnancy and asphyxia. Key words : adolescent pregnancy, preterm birth, low birth weight, asphyxia  Kesmasindo  Volume 6, ( 1) Januari 2013, Hal. 26-34

Abstract

Background. Pain is the major complaint felt by mothers with post sectio caesarea that they are afraid making any mobilization. Early mobilization of post sectio caesarea are highly necessary to accelerate the wound healing. Acupressure is one of non-pharmacological therapies to reduce pain. Acupressure has the ability to release endorphins. Accupressure at  LR 3 and SP 6 point stimulate the endorphin expulsion. Objective. This research aimed to examine the effect of acupressure at LR 3 and SP 6 point on the pain scale of the post sectio caesarea patient at Regional Public Hospital of Banyumas.Method. The research was a quasi-experimental and pretest-posttest design with control group. Sample were collected using a consecutive sampling technique. The samples were 40 patients consisting of 20 patients classified into the intervention group and 20 patients classified into the control group. The pain was measured using a numeric rating scale. The intervention group was administered with acupressure performed at LR3 and SP 6 point for 30 times on each point while the control group was administered with internal respiration for 10 minutes. The data were analyzed using Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney test with the significance level of ? ? 0.05.Result. The results of Wilcoxon test showed that accupressure at LR 3 and SP 6 point influenced the pain scale of those classified into the intervention group with the value of p = 0.000 (? < 0.05) but does not influence those classified into the control group with the value of p = 0.157 (? > 0.05). Meanwhile, the result of Mann Whitney test showed that there was an significant difference between the intervention and control group post test score with the value of p = 0.000 (? < 0.05).Conclusion. acupressure at LR 3 and SP 6 point significantly effect the pain scale of post sectio caesarea patient.

Abstract

The malnutrition rate in Indonesian hospital was hightly about 75%. The determinant of nutrition states with biochemically known by the concentration of plasma albumin. Albumin is the protein of the highest concentration in plasma. Albumin transports many small molecules in the blood (for example: bilirubin, calcium, progesterone, and drugs). It is also of prime importance in maintaining the oncotic pressure of the blood (that is, keeping the fluid from leaking out into the tissues). Decreased albumin may also be caused by malnutrition or a low protein diet. The aims of this research was to determine change in albumin before and after hospitalization in Margono Soekarjo Hospital, Purwokerto. It was analytic research with cross sectional study. The study population consisted of 69 subjects. The albumin concentrations was determined at before and after hospitalization. The average of albumin concentrations before and after hospitalization were 2,88 g/L and 2,52 g/L respectively. The t test showed that albumin concentrations after hospitalization decrease significantly (p

Using a purposive sampling method, 8 male nursing students who were pursuing internship program were selected. Data were collected by semi structured interviews and analysed by thematic analysis. This study identified 7 themes, (1) gender role strain, (2) causes of gender role strain, (3) forms of gender role strain, (4) respond of gender role strain, (5) attitude on gender role strain, (6) hope in gender role strain, and (7) positive impacts of maternity nursing internship on male students. Abstract

Depo Medroksi Progesteron Asetat (DMPA) is an injection hormonal contraseption that has high efectiveness for family planing program. In the number of probability failure, it has approximately 0.25% of fail. However, DMPA has some side effect of disturbance menstruation pattern such as increasing body weight, headache and irregularity of hart rate (dysrytmia). The purpose of this research is to analyze factors (age, psychological stress, overload activity and accompanying disease) that influence of disturbance menstruation pattern of DMPA acceptor in Puskesmas Sokaraja I Purwokerto. This study used descriptive survey. The sample consists of 107 acceptor selected by proportional sampling. Data were collected using questionnaire. Chi Square and logistic regression method were used to analyze the data. The result shows that all factors such as age, psychological stress, high physical activity and history of accompanying disease have no significant influence towards disturbance menstruation pattern with chi square test at p=0.99, p = 0.98 p=0.91and p=0.93 respectively. There are no significant factors (age, psychological stress, high physical activity and history of accompanying disease) contribute to menstrual pattern for women who are using DMPA as part of family panning method
