Abstract

This paper presents the development of a simple data logger using Seeeduino Stalker and the data visualization using Processing software. The background of this development is the problems encountered in making a data logger, which must meet the following criteria: able to read data one or more sensors, able to store the data, able to be operated for a long time, even if placed in an area that has no electricity supply. In addition, the data that stored in the data logger should be loaded and displayed on a computer without having to stop the operation of the data logger. In this study, the data logger that meets these criteria has been developed using Seeeduino Stalker hardware and using Processing software for the data visualization.

Abstract

This paper proposes an improved control and monitors between two different PLCs, the Mitsubishi, and Omron. The main advantage is interoperability and communication between both PLC. The use of NI OPC server as the software interface reached interoperability and communication. There were developed two field applications to test interoperability. Laboratory virtual instrument engineering workbench (LabVIEW) uses as the software application for creating the user interface to control and monitor. This improvement show OPC server technology solves data compatibility issue between different driver controller’s and reducing development cost. Regardless of whether there are more than two different PLCs, it's enough to use the NI OPC server. So the benefit of the NI OPC server is not limited to two types of PLC used right now but can also use the other manufacturers. Besides, the improvement of the previous study is the use of the LabVIEW makes data from the OPC server displayed more realistic. The use of LabVIEW allows additional monitoring functions, one of which is LabVIEW vision. Data utilization becomes more flexible, and so it can use for more complex purposes. It is envisaged that this is very useful for Integrator engineer to implement this method in industrial automation

Abstract

The purpose of this study is for prototyping a non-intrusive vehicle-based measurement system for drowsiness detection. The vehicle-based measurement system aims to achieve the non-intrusive drowsiness detection. The non-intrusive vehicle-based measurement achieved by placing sensors on the steering rod, gas pedal, and brake pedal. Drowsiness can be detected by comparing the position of the steering angle to the desired target angular position, especially when the difference in value of both is greater. Some sensors have been tested to obtain the actual steering angle position. From the test results, sensors that meet the criteria of accuracy are MPU6050 and HMC5883L. Both sensors have been tested in the prototyping of a vehicle-based drowsiness detection system with sufficient results. Furthermore, the prototype of non-intrusive vehicle-based drowsiness detection system has been integrated with interesting driving simulation software. The result has been able to show the actual condition of the steering position, the gas pedal and the brake pedal precisely. Moreover, this prototype opens opportunities to support the study of drowsiness detection using vehicle-based driving simulator.

Abstract

Maintenance is an activity that helps to reduce risk, increase productivity, improve quality, and minimize production costs. The necessity for maintenance actions will increase efficiency and enhance the safety and quality of products and processes. On getting these conditions, it is necessary to implement a monitoring system used to observe machines' conditions from time to time, especially the machine parts that often experience problems. This paper presents a low-cost intelligent monitoring system using NodeMCU to continuously monitor machine conditions and provide warnings in the case of machine failure. Not only does it provide alerts, but this monitoring system also generates historical data on machine conditions to the Google Cloud (Google Sheet), includes which machines were down, downtime, issues occurred, repairs made, and technician handling. The results obtained are machine operators do not need to lose a relatively long time to call the technician. Likewise, the technicians assisted in carrying out machine maintenance activities and online reports so that errors that often occur due to human error do not happen again. The system succeeded in reducing the technician-calling time and maintenance workreporting time up to 50%. The availability of online and real-time maintenance historical data will support further maintenance strategy.

Abstract

Produk kerajinan kayu rentan terhadap jamur. Jamur akan tumbuh dengan cepat ketika kelembaban atau kadar air kayu melebihi 20% [1]. Pemanasan kayu dapat mengeringkan dan mengurangi kadar air pada kayu. Pengeringan dengan panas sinar matahari memakan waktu lama. Untuk mendapatkan proses pengeringan yang cepat diperlukan ruang pemanas kayu yang dapat diatur suhu dan kelembaban ruangannya. Dalam kegiatan pengabdian penerapan teknologi di CV AAG, telah dihasilkan ruang pemanas kayu dengan ukuran 3 x 6 x 2,5 meter kubik, yang suhu dan kelembaban ruangannya dapat dimonitor dan dikontrol secara efektif melalui tampilan layar sentuh. Penghematan energi dihasilkan karena kontrol ruang pemanas kayu dirakit dengan alat-alat yang konsumsi daya listriknya rendah, dan dapat bekerja secara otomatis menghasilkan target kelembaban 10 – 15% dengan durasi waktu pemanasan mengikuti jenis dan volume kayu. Penghematan biaya diperoleh karena menggunakan tungku berbahan bakar limbah serbuk kayu yang banyak dihasilkan saat proses pengerjaan kayu.
