Abstract

Rancangan Sepeda Air dalam penelitian ini di latar belakangi oleh kebutuhan fasilitas hiburan pada Taman Wisata Alam Lembah harau, yang beberapa tahun blakangan ini terjadi penyusutan pengunjung.Dalam persoalan tersebut pnelitian ini bermaksud merancang Sepeda Air dengan 4 penompang agar dapat di manfaatkan untuk fasilitas Wisata di Lembah Harau.Rancangan Sepeda Air tidak hanya sebatas bentuk wujud gamabar 3D,bahkan juga dilakukan pengujian dan perhitunagan agar Hasil rancangan dapat di wujudkan dan berfungsi dengan baik,seperti adanya pengujian analisa stress dalam tujuan mengetahui faktor keamanan dari rancangan Sepeda Air saat diberikan beban. Dalam perhitungan juga dilakukan analisa daya apung dari rancangan Sepeda Air termasuk juga Center of Gravity dari alat tersebut. Dengan adanya data dan hasil perhitungan rancangan di atas,juga telah dapat di simpulkan Sepeda Air Telah layak di produksi sesuai rancangannya dan di nilai aman utuk di pergunakan.

Abstract

In the progress of this modern era, every human being is required to be able to think innovatively and creatively in order to create a tool to support human needs themselves. As an action taken by humans in facilitating a job that they do and to get results in accordance with what they plan. So engine planning is really needed in it. Human needs are increasingly increasing require us to work even harder to meet those needs, while the amount of energy produced by humans is very limited, so that requires us as potential successors to be able to create or design a tool to support a job so that the work become easy and obtain maximum results so that it meets the needs of human life. The aim of the research is to create a home-scale industrial onion slicing machine that is easy to operate. On a finished onion slicing machine six tests and data retrieval and data processing can be done into reports. The results of research carried out by varying the density of the knife, the first experiment where the onion was 1 kg where the speed ( ) 608 Rpm and the blade density of 1 mm with a slicing time of 3.30 minutes, in the second experiment with a density of 2 mm, the slicing time obtained is 1.17 minutes, on the third try with a density of 3 mm, the time obtained is 0.30 minutes. In the test by varying the rotation ( ), in the first experiment that is round ( ) 608.6 with the same density of 2 mm, the time obtained was 1.17 rpm minutes, in the second experiment with the rotation ( ) 304.7 rpm with time the cutting was 1.52 minutes, in the third experiment with rotation ( ) 207.5 rpm and the time obtained was 2.21 minutes and in the fourth experiment with rotation ( ) 114.3 rpm with the cutting time 3.39 minutes. Abstract

This research aims to investigate the effect of compacting pressure variations with the addition of 5 wt.% fly ash (Fa) on paving block (Pb) in the compressive strength test base on SNI 03-0691-1996. Fa is obtain from waste material produced from coal burning thermal power plant from Sijantang sawahlunto. The growing production of  Fa caused negative environmental impact, so that one of the solutions to overcome that effects is to use the Fa as a raw material for paving block mixture that can reduce the cost of raw material and increase its strength.The fly ash composition in the paving blocks manufacture, that is: 0 wt.%,   5wt.% Fa + block paving material (cement and sand), pressure variation 55, 65, 75, 85 and 95 Kg/cm2 with a drying time for 35 days. The addition of 5 wt.% Fa in paving block is taken based on the results of research conducted in 2013 by using a variation of the composition of 0,5,10,15 wt.% Fa and obtained optimum conditions at 5 wt.% Fa, while the optimal time drying 35 days is taken based on the results of research conducted in 2014 by the drying time variation of 7, 14, 21, 28, 35 days. While the pressure used 75 Kg/cm2, so it is necessary to study based on variations of pressure to get the optimum condition of the paving blocks. Form of test specimens by SNI 03-0691-1996 with paving block size of 20 cm x 10 cm x 6 cm.The test results showed The addition of 5 wt.% Fa increases the compressive strength when compared to 0 wt.% Fa. Optimal compressive strength occurred in paving block compacting pressure 95 kg/cm2 in the amount of 36.1 kg/cm2 with a quality that is used for road on the composition 5 wt.% Fa and 0 wt.% Fa of 30.3 kg/cm2 with quality B parking area. This is because the material fly ash contains oxide compounds that have mechanical properties that are very good and and the size of the fly ash used is very small so as to fill the voids between particles and reduce the porosity of the paving blocks and the higher pressure causes the density of paving blocks increases because bond between the particles is getting stronger. All the results that have made the products meet the quality according to SNI 03-0691-1996.

Abstract

Mobil buggy merupakan salah satu jenis dari mobil yang dirancang sesuai dengan kebutuhan kendaraan pariwisata. Kendaraan yang diperuntukan untuk anak-anak  usia 8-15 tahun dengan berat badan maksimum 75 kg, Kapasitas yang dimiliki hanya mampu membawa satu orang penumpang (single seater). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan menganalisis kekuatan rangka pada penumpang dengan beban 75 kg menggunakan software autodesk inventor, dengan menggunakan fitur stress analysis yang dilengkapi dengan metode finite element analysis (FEA). Dapat diketahui luaran berupa von misses stress, displacement, dan safety factor. Rangka hasil rancangan berdiameter 1 inchi, material mild steel.

Abstract

The performance of a fluidized bed dryer integrated biomass furnace with air preheater (FBD with APH) and a fluidized bed dryer integrated biomass furnace without air preheater (FBD without APH) for drying of paddy  have been evaluated. The  FBD with APH and FBD without APH decreased the moisture of paddy from 24% (wet basis) to 14% (wet basis) within 43 and 47 minutes with average temperatures and relative humidities of 59.58 oC and 59.14oC, and 18.81% and 18.68%, respectively. The drying rate of paddy varied in the range of 0.11 kg/min-0.32 kg/min and 0.10 kg/min- 0.30 kg/min for FBD with APH and FBD without APH, with average values of 0.18kg/min and 0.17kg/min, respectively. The minimum, maximum, and average value specific moisture evaporation rate (SMER) was  0.20 kg/kWh, 0.57 kg/kWh, and 0.31 kg/kWh, respectively for FBD with APH, as well as 0.149 kg/kWh, 0.448 kg/kWh, and 0.252  kg/kWh, respectively, for FBD without APH.  The specific energy consumption (SEC), the specific electrical energy consumption (SEEC), and the specific thermal energy consumption (STEC) were varied from 1.749 kWh/kg to 5.076 kWh/kg, 0.090 kWh/kg to 2.872 kWh/kg, and 0.760 kWh/kg to 2.204 kWh/kg, with average values of 3.528 kWh/kg, 1.96 kWh/kg, and 1.532 kWh/kg, respectively for FBD with APH, as well as from 2.234 kWh/kg to 6.702 kWh/kg, 1.056 kWh/kg to 3.167 kWh/kg, and 1.179 kWh/kg to 3.536 kWh/kg, with average values of 4.391 kWh/kg, 2.075 kWh/kg, and 2.316 kWh/kg, respectively, for FBD without APH. The thermal efficiencies of the FBD with APH and  FBD without APH were varied between 12.4% and 37.93%, and 9.78% and 29.82%, resvectively, with average values of 20.78% and 16.61%. The thermal efficiency of FBD with APH was higher compared to FBD without APH.

Abstract

This study evaluated the performances of solar assisted heat pump dryer (SAHPD) and heat pump dryer (HPD) for drying of Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb. The HPD and SAHPD reduced mass of Curcuma from 30.70 kg to 7.85 kg needed 10.5 hours and 8 hours with average temperature and relative humidity 49.2oC and 26.5%, and 57.7oC and 19.8%, for SD and SAHPD respectively. The moisture of Curcuma dried from 3.167 db to 0.065 db with an air mass flow rate of 0.121 kg/s. The SAHPD reduced the drying time about 24% compared to HPD. The drying rate and the specific energy consumption were calculated in an average 1.05 kg/h and 1.36kg/h, and 1.17kWh/kg and 2.07kWh/kg for HPD and SAHPD, respectively. The specific moisture extraction rate and the dryer thermal efficiency were calculated in an average 0.931 kg/kWh and 0.521 kg/kWh, and 61.0% and 34.3% for HPD and SAHPD, respectively. Whereas, the pickup efficiency and the coefficient of performance of the heat pump were calculated in an average 57.5% and 59.2%, and 4.03and 4.35 for HPD and SAHPD, respectively. The SAHPD is capable of drying Curcuma quickly because of the high pickup efficiency and high drying rate.
