Abstract

The FOPID and PID controller are designed to control the speed of the BLDC motor. The parameters , , , λ and µ of these controller are optimized based on genetic algorithm. The optimized coefficients keep in track with zero error signals. The output of the controller is given to the variable dc source which varies the input voltage to the three phase inverter depending on the input signal. The three phase inverter gives the voltage to the BLDC motor which enhances the stability of the system. The effectiveness of the controller is demonstrated by simulation.

Abstract

Nowadays UAV’s are more common for search, rescue and surveillance.  A quadcopter UAV system is proposed to be used for aerial transportation of medicine. A Quadcopter has a drive chassis having a propeller, ESC, motor, frames and battery. The quadcopter is supported with GPS to know the exact position. To know the exact location and delivering medicine to accident area, an audio and video system is used. The quad frame built from quality materials, which are reinforced and much more stronger, this reduces arm breakage. A set of two plastic propellers, one normal and one pusher (reverse) to rotate and lift up the quadcopter. The brushless out-runner will provide more power with its high efficiency, long run times. The ESC includes programmable motor braking, soft start for helicopters and planes, timing, throttle input range and low-voltage cutoff. Lithium-Polymer (Li-Po) battery for very lightweight, small size and durability without losing charging capacity. The whole quadcopter process can be monitored and controlled by a remote control system, quadcopter will capture the live video and current status can be seen visualized and provides information about all the other exact conditions in real-time.

Abstract

This paper presents a multilevel inverter with reduced number of switches to produce a five level output. PWM technique (pulse width modulation) has been used to trigger the MLI switches. It gives reduced harmonic. This proposed topology is connected with R-load and RL-load. Four signals are generated for switching on the multilevel inverter (MLI) switches by comparing four level triangular waveform with sine wave. In this proposed topology two switches are reduced from the conventional Cascaded five level inverter. The simulation analysis has been done by MATLAB/SIMULINK.

Abstract

Z-source based multilevel inverters are the recent topologies as they have boosting ability and near sinusoidal output waveforms. This paper proposes different inverter topologies such as Z-source multilevel inverter and quasi Z-source multilevel inverter. This paper also deals with switched inductor and improved switched inductor topologies with quasi Z-network. The proposed switched inductor system reduces the voltage stresses caused by capacitors, power devices and diodes. In addition to multilevel inverter advantages, the proposed configuration employs Z-source inverter advantages. The Z-source inverter as compared to the traditional inverter is less costly, less complex, more efficient and more reliable. The performance of the proposed configurations is analysed by varying passive elements in impedance network and is simulated in MATLAB/SIMULINK. Phase disposition (PD) pulse width modulation (PWM) technique is applied on the proposed configurations and performance parameters are measured by the fast Fourier transform FFT analysis. The object of this paper is to develop an inverter which is used for variable speed drives with increase in output voltage by eliminating transformer and filter circuit. The performance is checked with standared parameter of the inverter.
