Abstract

Abstract The roles of madrasah committee are so complicated, one of its roles is in the arrangement of RKM and for this case, it includes the role of an advisory agency, a supporting agency, a controlling agency and a mediator. RKM is a madrasah document written related to the madrasah development plan in the future which for this arrangement process has to involve the whole parties related to madrasah, including the committee. The focus of the study consists of (1) How does the madrasah committee run its role as an advisory agency in the arrangement of RKM in MTs Nurul Qona’ahMumbulsari?, (2) How does the madrasah committee run its role as a supporting agency in the arrangement of RKM in MTs NurulQona’ahMumbulsari?, (3) How does the madrasah committee run its role as a controlling agency in the arrangement of RKM in MTs NurulQona’ah Mumbulsari?, (4) How does the madrasah committee run its role as a mediator in the arrangement of RKM in MTs Nurul Qona’ahMumbulsari?. Meanwhile, the aims of the study are: (a) to describe the role of madrasah committee in running its role as an advisory agency in the arrangement of RKM in MTs NurulQana’ah Mumbulsari, (b) to describe the role of madrasah committee in running its role as a supporting agency in the arrangement of RKM in MTs Nurul Qana’ah Mumbulsari, (c) to describe the role of madrasah committee in running its role as a controlling agency in the arrangement of RKM in MTs Nurul Qana’ah Mumbulsari, (d) to describe the role of madrasah committee in running its role as a mediator in the arrangement of RKM in MTs Nurul Qana’ah Mumbulsari. To obtain the aims of the study, phenomenology qualitative approach was applied with case study as the research design; the data consists of two; the primary data and the secondary one, while the informants were chosen by using purposive sampling and snowball sampling technique. The data was obtained with the following procedure: interview, participant observation and documentation. The data was analysed qualitatively, by (a) data reduction, (b) data display, (c) drawing conclusion. Meanwhile, the data validity test was conducted through Persistent Observation, Informant Triangulation and Peerderieting. As the application of a qualitative research procedure, the study was concluded as follows: the first; the roles of madrasah committee as the advisory agency in the arrangement of RKM in MTs Nurul Qana’ahMumbulsari include 1) its involvement in the draft arranger team of RKM, 2) giving suggestions related to the arrangement of vision, mission and the goal of the madrasah, 3) proposing considerations related to alternative madrasah funding, 4) giving advice related to the computer supply, 5) giving suggestions about the recruitment of laboran for science laboratory, 6) giving considerations in deciding the number and procedure of funding for national examination cost, 7) proposing considerations about book supply which using BOS fund, 8) proposing considerations in increasing the teachers’ payment of transportation, 9) giving considerations about the students who receive BSM (needy students aid). The second, the role of supporting agency was conducted by the committee MTs Nurul Qana’ah Mumbulsari through: 1) supporting madrasah in extracurricular activities, 2) supporting madrasah in arranging the local content subject, 3) supporting madrasah in improving the average score of madrasah for national examination, 4) supporting madrasah in national examination funding, 5) supporting madrasah in the instructional of English and Computer Information Science, 6) supporting madrasah in making madrasah fence, 7) supporting madrasah to dun infak (alms) for the students. The third, the role of committee as the controlling agency in the arrangement of RKM and in MTs Nurul Qana’ahMumbulsari involves: 1) supervising the process of fence making, 2) supervising the process of additional instructional to face national examination and its funding, 3) supervising the computer supply program, 4) supervising the use of national examination fund, 5) supervising the fund use planned to supply computers, 6) supervising the process of officer recruitment, 7) controlling the extracurricular program, 8) supervising the arrangement of curriculum, 9) controlling the process of decreasing the number of drop out students, 10) controlling the types of fund sources in arranging the The fourth, as the mediator the committee of MTs Nurul Qana’ah Mumbulsari runs its roles, such as: 1) conveying the students’ parents’ willing for madrasah in opening extracurricular pencaksilat, 2) as the mediator between the students’ parents and madrasah to supply computers in madrasah, 3) as the mediator to convey the program of English improvement, 4) as the mediator of fence making, 5) as the mediator to decrease the number of drop out students, 6) as the mediator to have an art contest, 7) as the mediator to convey the madrasah activities report to the students’ parents.
