Abstract

This research aims to utilize local feed resources for Ettawa crossbreed (PE) goat by mixing the fermented sago waste (FSW) with forages. In this research, 9 PE goats at the age of 6 months and weighed at 17.46±0.3 kg were used as the research subject. The fermented sago waste consisted of 75% sago waste, 20% bran, 0.25% urea, 3% molasses, and 1.25% urea. Probion was added as much as 0.5% of total feed weight. All of the feedstuffs were mixed and fermented in anaerobic conditions for 21 days. The feeding was then divided into three groups, which were: 100% forage + 0% FSW (A); 70% forage + 30% FSW (B); and 50% forage + 50% FSW (C). The observed parameters were average daily gain (ADG) and feed conversion ratio (FCR). All of the data were analyzed in a completely randomized design. The analysis showed a significant difference (P<0.05) on the ADG of PE goats, with the highest was obtained in 30% FSW addition (86.10±1.90 grams/goat/day), followed with 50% FSW addition (80±3.41 gram/goat/day), while the 100% forage feeding showed the lowest ADG at 72.14±3.96 gram/goat/day). However, there is no significant difference (P>0.05) to the FCR in all treatments, which showed FCR at 9.68 to 9.98.

Abstract

One of the problems that exist in the community is the lack of identification of the reproductive performance of prospective brooders of Bali cattle that are artificially inseminated. The researcher conducted a research to determine the reproductive performance of Bali Cattle inseminated with Brahman Cattle Semen in SECP (Special Effort for Cows to be Pregnant Program) Program in Kolaka Regency. The parameters observed in this study were; artificial insemination's first age (Years), How many times the artificial insemination (AI) was pregnant (S/C), Length of pregnancy (months), Calving Interval (CI) (months), Birth weight (Kilograms), Correlation of AI's first age with birth weight. Sources of date used in this study are primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques carried out in this study were observation and interviews. The date obtained was analyzed descriptively, analysis of variance, average, and to calculate the relationship between variables was analyzed by correlation. Reproductive performance of Bali Cattle inseminated with Brahman Cattle Semen in SECP Program in Kolaka district include; first age AI 23.63±1.99 months, Service per Conception (S/C) 1.56±0.55, gestational age 9.03±0.38 months, Calving Interval (CI) 12.24±0 .52 months, birth weight 27.85 ± 2.96 and the correlation between AI prime age and birth spacing was 0.77.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the effect of adding feed fermentation of sago pulp to the palatability level of the breeds of Etawa. In this study used 9 goat cattle PE age 6 months with an average initial body weight of 17 kg. Materials used include sago pulp, probion, bran, urea and molasses. Complete feed prepared from the material is sago pulp 75%, bran 20%, urea 0.25%, molasses 3% and minerals 1.25%. While the probion is added as much as 0.5% of the total feed ingredients. All feed ingredients are mixed and then fermented anaerobic for 21 days. Feeding is done according to the treatment of (100% natural grass + 0% fermented feed, 70% natural grass + 30% fermentation feed, 50% natural grass + 50% fermented feed). The observed variable is palatability. The research draft uses complete random design. Feeding with the addition of fermentation of sago pulp 30%, the consumable level 859.56 grams/day higher (P0.01) from the fermentation of sago pulp 50% (773.38 gram/tail/day) and without the feeding of sago pulp (697.62 gram/tail/day
